Smart Mommy Secrets Revealed!

  • Legitimate work at home opportunities.
  • Wouldn't it be nice to get a FULL night's sleep with your 6 week old infant?

Read - On Becoming Baby Wise by Gary Ezzo, M.A. and Robert Bucknam, M.D.

I received this book as a gift at my baby shower. This book is incredible! The information is priceless.  I don’t know what I would have done without it.  My daughter sleeps throughout the night (straight), and goes down for her naps with NO fussing.  I believe no parent should be without it.

  • Use this product every time and your child may never have a diaper rash!

A & D Ointment is by far the best diaper rash ointment I’ve ever used!  After delivery the hospital provided A& D for us to use during our stay.  But when I came home I started to use the stuff I received from the baby shower,  since these don’t seal out wetness like A & D, my daughter had a horrible rash.  www.myadbaby.com

  • If your baby should get a rash, find out what ointment clears it in approximately a day and a half!

I tried to clear up that awful rash as mentioned above, and the only thing that worked wonders is a product called Triple Paste, view it at www.sumlab.com .  Her rash went away in 1 1/2 days.

  • Learn what every baby should have to get a good night's sleep.

I had no idea how crucial it is to give your child a special blanket (security blanket).   I breast feed and another mom mentioned that her kids like the satin trimmed blankets because it reminds them of nursing since bras are satiny.   I went to  Babies R Us and found this beautiful blanket that is satin trimmed and the back side is all satin, the front is short soft fur.   The blanket is made by a company called Cocalo.

  • Find out what pacifier is the least likely to fall out of your baby's mouth.

I went home from the hospital with a soothie brand pacifier, it’s great but falls out too easily.  I registered for an Ortho paci, and she hated them since she was use to the Soothie.   I had problems with the pacifier falling out of her mouth throughout the day and night until I discovered the pacifier called soft centered by Gerber.  It’s shaped like a light bulb and works wonders. www.gerber.com

  • Why this bassinet should be in every parent's home.

I’m so glad that I decided to register for the original co-sleeper bassinet.  It was nice to have her by my side since I had a c-section (I had a c-section because she was expected to be 10 lbs 1 oz., and I’m a small girl.).  It converts to a playpen and is portable.  So, I didn’t have to get a pack n play or travel bed.  www.armsreach.com

  • How to save over $1400 on diapers!

I use cloth diapers on my daughter.  When we go out we use disposables.   I launder them myself.   It’s actually pretty easy.  I use All – free and clear detergent, it’s just as safe as the other brand but cheaper, I cup of baking soda from the warehouse club and white vinegar (the equiv. of what you’d put in a downy ball).  The vinegar and baking soda corrects the pH of the diapers.  Then I hang them outdoors to dry.  I purchased my Chinese pre-fold package diapers from www.softclothbunz.com

  • Find out how to burn 500 calories a day after delivery, everyday for a year!

I gained 50 lbs with my daughter.   I lost 37 lbs within the first couple of weeks  just by breastfeeding.

  • Regular nose plungers never seem to get all the gunk out, find out what product is a must have for stuffy noses.

www.nosefrida.com This product is wonderful!  If you’ve ever tried to use a nose plunger, only to find out that you’ll pull your hair out before you get a booger, then you know what I mean.

  • What I did during pregnancy to have a healthy (no jaundice, no complications, apgar score of 9) 9lb 6oz baby!
      • I gave up caffeine, no coffee L.  But, I replaced it with a chocolate Carnation instant breakfast every morning before breakfast.  CIB has two times the protein of an egg and two times the calcium of a yogurt.  Sometimes I’d have one before bed too.  Once I drank the CIB, I’d have a pack or two of Quaker instant oatmeal, and fruit.  I made sure to eat the recommended amounts of protein, calcium etc.. everyday.
      • Lots of rest! I never felt guilty about sleeping, I knew my body needed it.
      • I avoided stress.
      • My husband cleaned so that I wouldn’t breathe in the chemicals, and still does since I breastfeed.
      • I never missed a doctor prescribed prenatal vitamin, which I took before bed.  Sometimes, if you take them in the morning you get nausea.
      • I went to every doctors visit.

      • Breast feeding tip:  Ameda brand breast shells along with pure lanolin ointment relieves soreness.
      • Breast pump tip:  Playtex brand dual electric breast pump sold at Babies R Us goes for under $99 works great!  In my opinion you don’t need to spend almost $300 to extract the milk.
      • Pregnancy clothing tip:  go to the Salvation Army or something thrifty in your area.  I bought the cutest clothes made by Motherhood.  You’re only going to wear them for 6 months or less.  My friend paid top dollars for hers and I hate to say this but my clothes were so much cuter.  I miss my pregnancy clothes.
      • Baby wipes tip:  I actually put my daughter’s changing station in the main bathroom since we have the room.  I wash her up with a soapy washcloth, instead of wasting money on wipes.   Make your  own baby wipes, various recipes online.
