This video was awesome! I loved the editing with all the gunshots on the beats. Just absolutely awesome. I’ve got nothing to say against it except that maybe you didn’t need the voice clip where he says, “Yes sir.” I understand why you put it there, but it was overtop of the singer. I also liked how you matched your clips with the words in the song. For example, “a shadow on the wall” and then there was a shadow. Awesome.

The song choice was great! The beginning was very powering and the scene selection was great, though I have to say that the short voiceover in the beginning was distracting because didn't give away much message and cutting was a little ogg but the whole cycle from the beginning the end and the consistency is great! Awesome work!

Cec: Fantastic editing! The scenes, the editing, the violence, even the gunshots match the beats of the music. The lyric matches are excellent! Like "Shadow on the wall" and "Steady your hand" and "there's nothing left." Okay, I'm done listing, but there are many more! Wonderful ending!
Kaycee: Great Supernatural video! The part with the dad dying was a perfect match for the words..so sad! I loved all the action scenes and creepy clips you used. The "shadow on the wall" part was awesome! This was so well edited..everything moved so fast. The part where he broke the mirror matched the music so well. Such an entertaining video!

Let me just say, that I am a huge fan of your videos. I am always impressed with how you manage to incorporate all of the clips you use in the video and make them flow without a hitch. This was no exception. I am not a huge Breaking Benjamin fan, but I loved the song and thought that you used it to your advantage with telling the story. The beats and the up-tempo really brought this video to life. Your editing was flawless (as per usual, lol), and I loved that you had everything on beat (especially 2:25-41). I know that can be one of the hardest things to do and you do it brilliantly. The way you told this story gave an interesting way to look into Sam and Dean’s lives that is completely true “only the strongest will survive”. In their business, they have to be stronger than demons, and not just in terms of hunting but with their family life as well. I look forward to all of your videos and continue with the amazing work!

I did enjoy some parts of your video. However, one of my most problem with it was the dialogues. I think it's a great idea to add dialogues in the videos when it adds something to the narrative. In your case, I didn't really understand why you chose the dialogue you chose. Not to mention they completely took over the music and that's something very annoying for a viewer because it gets you "out" of the video if that makes sense. That said, I did like your music choice and I think parts were really interesting, like the multiple gun shots beginning at 2:25, nicely edited there. I would also suggest to work on your dynamic in general. Some parts are very rhythmic and nicely matched to the music while some others seems more flat with pretty long clips and the result is you cannot get involved in the video the same way. But overall, it was a nice vid :)

Cec: The effects are perfect. Subtle, but really effective. The lyrics are perfectly matched. The editing is awesome. I love the scene selections and placement, like they parallel you showed with Dean and his mom, then vut to Dean with the blonde played by Julie Benz! Very nice! The part of the video that said "since I was young, I've tasted sorrow" .. whoa! Love that! You really made this video to it's maximum potential! This is just so well done! I love it! Your talent and hard work really shows through this video!
Kaycee: Oohh, cool effects! There wasn't a missed beat in this video! I loved the song choice: dark and creepy just like the show. Great clips for "suffocate" and "trigger between my eyes." Man, you put so much effort into this, I can tell. All the action and fast clip changes looked amazing! Bravo!

Kaycee: What a great brothers video! You showed how much they cared for each other and how they would always be there. I liked the "standing at the crossroads" part. Great match! The clips ran so smoothly together. I loved this heartwarming video!
The Path of The Heart Awards
Your video passed the first cuts and was one of the last to be cut for a judge nod. Personally, I love the use of quotes/dialogues in a vid as I think it can really add a dramatic layer to the video. Your selection for this video is good. I think the overall problem of this vid probably comes from the song choice. This is a very slow paced vid, an acoustic no less, and maintaining a level of interest throughout the entire thing can be difficult if you don't work hard on your editing and on motion/pace. The song choice is good for your subject but I think your editing needed to be a little more sharp. For instance, at 0:39, during the "cause I've seen the dark side too", you used 2 clips of the boys hitting each other. Both, I feel, are dragged a bit too long and you could have had a better dynamic there by cutting the first clip before coming back to Dean at 0:41 and connecting directly with the second "hit in the face". It would have been more interesting for the general motion of the particular sequence. Also, since you are using a lot of "head shots" that are very still, it would have been more interesting to work on a bit of internal motion, again, to maintain a better flow of the video and make it coherent as an ensemble. I liked your scene selection and I think your story was nice. I think it just lacked some work in the editing that help the story resonate for a viewer.

Cec: Awesome editing! the way the editing and even the events of the scene flow with the music is awesome! You used the lyrics really well to! I LOVED the sequence of the "nothing wrong with me ... something's got to give" with possessed!Sam. The other sequence of that with those flashing alieneyes was awesome too! Creepy, chilling, totally appropriate ending!
Kaycee: Man, that was such a great video..I think I'm going to have nightmares for a while! lol I loved the part about "push me again" and the brothers fighting. Also, the "nothing wrong with me" part where Sam was possessed was perfect to use! This video was so full of action and creepiness..just perfect for the song! I loved the variety of scenes in this video. Cool ending!

A great selection of dialogues from the show put together with a greatly appropriate music. The end surprised me cause I hadn't read it was AU yet ;) Nevertheless, it was a really interesting piece. I really loved the dialogues chosen at 2:20 retracing briefly the conflict inside Dean.

All I can say is- thank god this didn’t happen on the show! Although, your use of editing is phenomenal from when Sam is talking all of the people that he saved and at the end when Sam is telling Dean to “Shoot me” and you used all of the voice-over clips. Everything about your video was fantastic. The music was spot on, banking in on the emotional drama going on with Sam and Dean. You have an incredible eye for placing scenes together to make them look believable if they are two completely different scenes that aren’t sequential. This video gets me closer to tears every time I watch it and the only reason that I don’t cry is because I know that it’s AU, lol. But still, it’s so powerful, it’s hard to keep that fact in mind. Superb job!

The song is very powerful and really droves the video thought it feels a bit too long. I especially liked the narrative in this vid and the editing in more action parts like at 3:17 with the shot of Dean, and the ending beginning at 5:31 and going faster and faster with the evil spreading. The best part of the vid to me.

How to get Shona on side straight away – take a song that is deeply personal to her and make a fantastic vid using it. The audio overlays are wonderfully placed – particularly the matching of John's statement with the lyrics (it would have been easy to match the "Did the best I could" with the lyrics, but by including more you make it far richer – more resonant). I have been watching this vid on a loop for about a week now and each time I watch it I find something new about it to love. Thank you. Shona
An emotional vid dealing with Dean & Sams struggle, perfect choice of song and nice audio introduction to set the scene, and then again throughout the vid adding to the impact of the lyrics. A very dramatic and angst ridden vid that reflects a major aspect of the show perfectly. Andrea
