Abe is the mainstay protagonist of the Oddworld Quintology, a lovably unassuming member of the Mudokon race. Placed in bondage from birth to slave in a meat packing plant, Abe suffers a grueling and mundane existence until one night he discovers that he and his entire race are planned to be slaughtered for food to boost profit. From here Abe is thrust into the role of savior, as what begins as a simple escape leads into an epic series of adventures spanning all of Oddworld.

Unlike most characters, Abe is notable in that he is seemingly as close to helpless as one can be. He is weak, frail, cannot harm his foes directly and can be killed quite easily. Because of this, Abe utilizes an ingenious blend of stealth and platforming to overcome his foes, who he can also possess. And when he transforms into the omnipotent Shrykull, watch out...

Abe's been out of action for a while, but with at least three more games remaining in the Oddworld Quintology (not including spinoffs), it's a sure bet that we'll see him whenever those games come out in the future.
