In both his fights against Paul Buentello and Kimbo Slice, Tank was knocked out during the 43rd second of the first round making this to be Tanks unlucky number. Another lesser known Tank fact is that he fought Mike Goldberg not in an mma match but in a staged wrestling match.
HEATH HERRING HAS ASTHMA!
This is what Heath Herring had to say about having asthma to the Baltimore sun.
I've actually had asthma since I was a child. I think it might be a little bit more psychosomatic than anything. I can't even tell you the last time I really had to take a puff on an inhaler but I kind of just do it right before the fight more out of habit than anything. I've been fighting for 10 years and there was a time when I used to have to [use] a breathing machine before I'd fight. I'm real fortunate now that I'm able to really not have too much of a problem with my asthma. That's more of a preventative measure.
SAM VASQUEZ IS NOT THE FIRST DEATH IN MMA
Although Sam Vasquez is the first death in sanctioned MMA, he is not the first fatality in an MMA event. Douglas Dedge is the first, dieing two days after an event in the Ukraine. Dedge's fatal bout occurred at the International Super Challenge in Kiev on March 16th 1998. Friends later admitted they witnessed Dedge repeatedly black out during training for the fight, yet could not talk him out of fighting."In one particular incident, Atwell was in Dedge's guard and looked down to see a vacancy in his eyes. Dedge's skin was suddenly cold, clammy.
"I can't see," Dedge said. "I've lost my vision."They stopped training. Dedge waited on the mat until his sight returned, then he left."
Douglas Dedge also learned about the World Super Challenge on the Internet. He was a 31-year-old karate practitioner from Chipley, Fla., who had a wife and five children. He had fought in one recorded amateur MMA match -- a bizarre loss via armbar to Sean Brockmole on Sept. 6, 1997. Midway through the fatal fight, Dedge grabbed his opponent's hair and pinned his head to the mat. Brockmole's cornerman, HooknShoot promoter Jeff Osborne , jumped up on the ring apron and screamed. "I had no idea what he was yelling about," Brockmole said, "but apparently [Dedge] took his wristband or headband off and was wrapping it around my neck."

TITO ORTIZ IS A GOOD GUY?
For all the Tito Ortiz bashing that you hear in MMA forums and around the web its hard to believe that Tito works with inner city children, motivating them to stay in school, stay off drugs, and away from gangs. Tito pushes them towards fullfilling their dreams, no matter what their current situation! He is also the son of two ex drug addicts his parents admitted this on a documentary that was promoting the event and rivalry between Tito and Chuck.
