Welcome!

Dedication

We are dedicating our work to LisaJo Helgesen.  LisaJo  raised Mini LaMancha /Nigerian Dwarf and a few LaManchas in Nevada under the Spiritwind herd name.   At the time of her untimely passing Nov.2004,  she and a few others had started the work for the MLDGA.   She was a pioneer in the development of the Mini LaMancha dairy goat. She is missed very much by those of us who knew her and her work and dedication to goats and the Mini LaMancha breed.
This project is being undertaken to promote the Mini LaMancha dairy goat.

Mission Statement: The goal of MLDGA, is to form a club of people with the common goal to promote Mini LaMancha dairy goats.  We hope to bring together breeders with an interest in helping to develop the breed and standards, now and in the future.  We will be working with breeders and registries to accomplish this monumental task.

The Mini LaMancha is a mid sized dairy goat.  They tend to have the gentle nature and higher milk production of the LaMancha.  They tend to produce sweet rich milk high in butterfat that the Nigerian Dwarf is known for.   Mini LaMancha's are great for small farms or homesteads.  They are able to provide a high quality family milk supply.
