The Daruma Line.

Welcome to the Takasaki Light Railway. This is the only 16mm narrow gauge garden railway in Japan! I will update various pages as things change. Please leave any comments in the guest book or on the map and your own website address or Email address if you like.
The Daruma line is a happy mix of British and Japanese narrow gauge equipment. My aim in making a garden railway was to create a world in which I, and whoever else wants to, can enjoy the character of a friendly line trying to meet the needs of a small community. First track was laid on August 2005. Since then plants have been added and some have actualy grown. The thyme has enjoyed itself and created two rather nice banks of scale bramble.

Go and see the Webmap - make your mark!
As there is a limited number of photo space on Freewebs I have made a second site where you will be able to find many more photos of the garden and the railway.

After you've had a look around, please put a pin on the guestmap, or leave a message on the new guest book:
My Guestbook

May 2008 The sun makes running trains in the garden a very pleasant pastime (where's me garden hat?). May brought my birthday and with it plenty of bits 'n bobs to get out on the railway. There is lots to see in the logbook, so start there. Along the Line has all new photos with a journey's commentary. Much more to come in the next few weeks!
The Garden Rail Magazine has run a few articles about the TLR:
