Michael Jackson
UK's "The Mirror" and "The Daily Record" are reporting that there have already been approximately 1 million pre-registration ticket requests since Michael Jackson first made the announcement of his July performances on March 5th, adding that due to the high demand he is planning to announce 10 additional dates shortly. This story would not come as a surprise since officials have already reported receiving many thousands of hits each minute by the widely interested public from around the globe. The paper quotes one source as saying, "There is no question Jackson has still got what it takes. The fact that he has been away for so long has only added to the clamour for tickets."

In addition, the report quotes Michael Jackson's spokesperson, Dr. Tohme Tohme, as stating the following: "He has come back to put an end to all the bulls**t rumours about his health. I think he has answered his critics. He is back to his old self - he's fine, and couldn't be in better shape. He was away for all this time because he was dedicating his life to his children and being a single parent. This is the reason he took a break from music. It was his idea to make a comeback because he misses his fans and his fans have missed him."

Starting in December 2008, unknown tabloid gossipmonger Ian Halperin began spreading a string of health-related rumors about Michael Jackson while promoting his upcoming unauthorized book and film on the star (it is understood that Diane Dimond has also been involved in the project). Halperin promised repeatedly that he would produce evidence supporting his claims, but he has failed to provide any. After Michael Jackson categorically denied all health rumors, Halperin challenged Jackson to take a medical test to prove he wasn't ill. Well, we now know that Michael Jackson indeed underwent an extensive, grueling five-hour medical exam and "passed with flying colors" on all points, which was an absolute requirement for the promoter and insurer to certify that he was perfectly fit and able to perform. Halperin has since backtracked on many of his initial overly-sensational claims while still insisting that his unnamed sources are reliable. In Ian Halperin's world, it is perfectly acceptable that one day Michael Jackson can be "gravely ill" with lung diseases, emphysema, gastrointestinal bleeding, blindness, muteness, and Alpha-1 deficiency, and then announce a series of comeback concerts the following day while looking perfectly healthy. Again, MJJR.net would like to call major BS on all of Ian Halperin's Jackson-related claims; the pictures and actions of Michael Jackson speak for themselves. Ian Halperin is an opportunistic gossiper hoping to make money and a name for himself by spreading malicious lies about Michael Jackson and other famous celebrities.

Michael Jackson: This is the final curtain call.
March 05, 2009

Speaking very briefly to the crowd, Michael Jackson announced the following:

Thank you all. This is it. This is it! This is it! I just want to say that these will be my final show performances in London. This will be it. This is it. When I say "this is it," it really means this is it. I'll be performing the songs my fans want to hear. This is it. I mean, this is really it. This is the final curtain call. I'll see you in July. I love you. I really do, you have to realize that, I love you so much. Really, from the bottom of my heart. This is it, see you in July!

"There will be a three minute video which will show never before seen footage of Michael Jackson. And, there will be an appearance by Michael Jackson himself. We don't know whether he will actually be performing a song or not. But, we've got about 500 fans waiting for him, hopeful that he will do something."

"We don't know what exactly the video is, but there's some speculation that this may be an attempted comeback by the King of Pop."

While many fans expressed concerns today over Michael Jackson's remarks that "This Is It!" as far as performances in London go, Randy Phillips of AEG Live confirmed to the media that this is likely just the first step in what could evolve into a three-year worldwide tour and the release of a brand new music album. "Surviving the press conference was the first step. We’ve a three-year plan for Michael Jackson and if it all goes well we will gross $400 million (£280 million) in total." Phillips added that Michael Jackson stands to earn "probably something pretty close to £50 ($70.5) million for the London shows." Future concerts may be held in New York, Paris and Mumbai." Again, only the first 10 concerts in London have been confirmed as of now.

With regards to the concerts themselves, Phillips promises that they will be two-hour "all-singing and all-dancing spectaculars" and gave ticket estimates of £50 ($70.50) to £75 ($105). Due to reportedly high demand, presale information has not yet been made publicly available.

"There is still much more to come from Michael Jackson. My passion for music has never stopped." - Michael Jackson (2008)

New Site; Will Feature Streaming Video of Press Conference!
March 04, 2009

A brand new site has been launched to not only stream the special press announcement Thursday, but also to provide ticket and date information about the concerts. The site, MichaelJacksonLive.com, currently allows the public to sign-up for alerts and presale information regarding the exciting upcoming events. MJJR.net can report that the site is expected to feature a live countdown to the events and shows, along with tour/concert dates and related information when the official announcement is made.

In addition to the above official site and MichaelJackson.com, several other outlets including Sky News and BBC are expected to stream the announcement live as it happens.

It is anticipated that Michael Jackson will announce a series of O2 concerts, expected to kick-off July 9th and run for 10 shows before being extended based on demand and desire.

Jackson will Perform "Spectacular New Songs" in Concert!
   March 06, 2009

The news keeps getting better for Michael Jackson fans. Randy Phillips of AEG Live announced to CNN, on video, that "Michael Jackson's going to do all the hits--the way people want to see it, with some fabulous new productions that we're in the process of designing." Even more importantly, Phillips confirmed that "there will be a couple of new songs and some new music, which I've heard, and it's spectacular. There's a reason he's the King of Pop!"

In related news, a spokesperson for AEG Live confirmed that the official concert site, MichaelJacksonLive.com, has been receiving an astonishing 16,000 hits per second which has made it difficult to keep the site functioning. Presale tickets are expected to be officially up for grabs starting March 13th. Some third party ticket venues have already began selling "guaranteed" tickets for when they become available, but MJJR.net encourages fans to proceed with extreme caution if ordering tickets from any third party venue especially when the official sales date hasn't commenced.
