I'm on Youtube!! Click here to check out my first video! I'm in the process of getting my entire recital up on there, so within the next couple weeks it should all be there. I'll update this and post the rest on a page I think I'll add devoted to video. Peace

Click on my photos link. Go ahead. Click on it. Instead of going to a random crappy page of crappy photos, it now goes to a Flickr page. My life is further simplified! Also, I have my Junior Recital recorded and on my hard drive, and I'm just waiting for freewebs to allow me to upload new stuff onto my new account I just opened up for storage. So, I think next week sometime I'll be able to have that up. I'll let you know by posting it here. Alright. That's about it, I suppose. I'm also working on getting my Google calendar to show my gig schedule and nothing else publicly so that you can just click on calendar and go right to it. Again, simplification is the name of my new game. Make it easy for you and for me. Anyways, yeah, check out the photos and I'll update again when I get the recital up. Dig it.

So yeah. Updated my calendar. Updated my gear page. That's about it. I've got a bunch of gigs coming up soon. Hopefully I'll be able to get ahold of recordings of some of what I've been doing lately. Umm. Yeah, that's about it. Take it easy.

Happy new year!! Hope everyone had a great Christmas, and here's to a great '07 coming up! In my personal news. I'm now getting free studio time from a friend of my drummer's at Church here at home. So we're taking full advantage of that, and just trying to record some things we've been wanting for a while. The second thing that we've done thus far is a basic rough rhythm track for an original tune written by my drummer that we like to call Spaz Funk. That very recording is up. Please check it out and let me know what you think. In other news: I have a gig Jan. 11 with Ashley Albritton at the Black and Brew in Lakeland, FL. Opening up for Mr. Steve Carroll. As I understand it, this'll be his last show in the area for a while, so if you're in the area, come check it out, it's sure to be a good time! This semester should be musically, much more busy then last, which means that there will be quite a few things to look forward too, hopefully, in the way of gigs and whatnot. So, I'll keep you all posted, and I'll be updating my Sunbird Calendar this week, so that you'll all be up to date with what's going on musically. Once again, I hope everyone who reads this, and even those that don't, have an amazing '07!

First things first, this has very little to do with my music, but I found out something very interesting about my Jazzbox. It's a Cort Larry Coryell signature model that appears to be a little older. That's not the interesting part, however. The interesting part is that the serial number is 00009. The more interesting part is that number doesn't line up with how Cort labels their guitars on the serial numbers. The most interesting part is that it may actually be a prototype model that was possibly played by Larry himself! And to think I bought it for $300. Anyways, I'm quite excited about this. Also excited about the first Jazz band gig this Thursday. Playing for chapel. We're opening the service and then doing the offertory. Playing four tunes. If you're in the area, you should come check it out. Information in the calendar, and for more information, shoot me an email. Also, watch these videos. Me and that dude shredding that PRS went to school together last year and gigged together on occaision. Mad props, my man.

Starting next week, I will be playing at Church of The Highlands on a regular basis. If anyone is in the area and wants to check out a good Church (as well as hang out, which is always fun), by all means. I've also started writing lessons. I'm mostly going to be using them for private instruction, but I may put them up on here if I there's an interest. Even if there's not, always good to have extra resources up here. I'm home this weekend for my music pastor's last Sunday at FBCPSL. Also, if anyone out there is a music major, beware of Music History. That class is brutal.

Added some concert dates to my calendar! Check 'em out!

This is the end of my first week back at school. Very busy, sadly. So far though, I've accomplished getting into jazz band, having two jam sessions, started a voice and guitar duet project with a friend of mine, Ashley Albritton, wrote video game music for a non-existent video game, and practiced quite a lot. Not to mention learned some tunes. Hopefully that duet project might get to the point where we can record and gig a bit. That would be great. Also trying to start a prog band with Chris Hinojosa a fellow musician and keyboard player (and a fantastic one at that). A goal of mine is to be able to play the entirety of Dream Theater's "Scenes From a Memory" for a concert. I'd also like to get a jazz combo group going. Also, I'm wanting to teach lessons, so if anyone from SEU reads this, let me know if you're interested and also spread the word for me. I'm going to be working on getting some flyers up around campus shortly. That's about all I can think of. Please subscribe to my calendar as it will house all concert information that'll be coming up. I also revamped my links page a little with some links to some of my guitar instructors so you can check that out. I believe that is all. Also, if you'd like, I'll be updating my blog, so you can read that, and that'd make me happy. OK, bye, bye.

I was at the Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshop last week. Fantastic week. I feel like a new player. All kinds of great stuff went down. Heard some great music, played with some great players, had 12+ hour days filled with nothing but Jazz. I also have tons of new material to work on. Probably keep me busy for the next three years or so! In other news, the end of work is closing in. The 5th is my last day teaching there, then it's back to school! So ready to go back. Can't wait to show everyone what I've learned and keep working on everything! Anyways. Don't forget to grab some of the concert while you're here and yeah. My calendar hopefully will be hopping soon, so go ahead and subscribe to that if you can.
Have a good one

Guess what? The concert is up finally. I'm teaching lessons here at home and at the local guitar shop. Going to Kentucky for the Aebersold clinic the beginning of July. Got a couple gigs coming up. Other than that. Nothing new here. How about you?

The Spring Jazz Band Concert was on the 27th. I have the entire concert on my hard drive. Two of the charts are up on the music page. You all will have to wait about week to get the rest. I had to open a new freewebs account just so I could host the concert, and since the files are so large, I can't upload them yet. So next week is the projected time to have the entire concert up for download. In the meantime, enjoy what's up there, and don't forget, if you have iCal or Sunbird, you can subscribe to my calendar and keep up with my schedule.
Peace

Hmmm... No updates lately. I've been quite busy as of late. Lots of gigs in a short period of time. Also been writing and arranging a lot of music. I think I have three or four new original tunes that I want to record as well as two video game music arrangments. Speaking of recording. I'm going to buy some better gear over this summer. Excited about that. Not a whole ton else right now. I'm trying to work with Sunbird right now so that I can get my full schedule together to so I can have it on here in a more organized format so that it's easier to see. I may set out to write a bio of myself one day just for kicks. Why? 'Cause I'll be real bored, that's why. So that's all folks. Get out there and do something useful. Like eat chicken.

So check this out. I've just been asked to help arrange a medley of video game music for the fall band concert. Something to look forward to in my absence of posting new recordings, which I am working dilligently on my schoolwork so I can have time this weekend to actually try and lay some tracks down. Hopefully it'll turn out so that I can. I want to record Zanarkland, I Could Write a Book, and anything else I can think of. Also start re-recording some of my older tunes just so they can sound better. I hope.
Bye ya'll

I recorded a couple new songs yesterday. Well, actually, one is a new demo/work in progress. I'm pretty happy with the chord progression and the direction it's headed in. Now I just need a melody. The other is not uploaded because I'm going to re-record it this weekend. Wasn't entirely happy with the way it turned out. In other news, I'm back at school, which is quite excellent. Good to be back.
Take it easy

Welcome to version 1.0 of my new website. It's still a bit of a work in progress, so bear with me.
In other news, I'm in the process of recording another original tune. It's mostly acoustic based. I should have a demo up within a couple of days. I've also got another chord solo that I'm going to record before I go back home. Look forward to a lot more stuff over the summer. Also like to wish everyone a Happy New Year.
Peace,
Mike
