MITCAR is the annual Midlands event for owners of Italian cars, whether modern or classic. It is held on a Sunday in late summer, usually August.
The venue is always a park in the Midlands region, suitable for picnics, car display and with interesting features for visitors. With increasing prices everywhere, we also strive to give the best available value , this being made possible by partial sponsorship.
The first year was 2001 at Kedleston Hall, 2002 at Shugborough, 2003 at Newstead Abbey, 2004 at Grimsthorpe Castle, 2005 at Coombe Abbey, 2006 at Bosworth Battlefield, 2007 at Calke Abbey, 2008 at Holdenby House and 2009 at Burghley House. The traditional start time is 10.30am.
There is always a light-hearted competition for the 'Camshaft Trophy' for Car of the Day and other trophies for various marque and other categories, which visitors vote for. As 'rewards' for returning voting forms, a prize draw is held with lots of substantial items available - well worth staying until the prize-giving at 3pm.
