Miss Central Avalon Achievement

The competition results are based on many components  out of 100 points including:

Academics, Community Involvement/ Volunteer Work,
Healthy Lifestyle Choices & Fitness, Talents, Self
Confidence, & Leadership Potential:

APPLICATION, 20 Points
-Questions will be scored by judges prior to ever meeting any contestants. Names are confidential, Numbers only are revealed.

INTERVIEW, 20 Points
- In your interview judges will meet with you individually for aprox.5-10min and will ask questions predetermined by the Pageant Committee. In the interview judges are looking for confidence in speaking, quality of answers given, as well you will get a chance to express why it is you want to represent young women of Central Avalon

PLATFORM STATEMENT, 25 Points
-Your speech can be on any topic you wish. It must be at least 1 min & no longer than  2min. Remember your speech is your Platform Statement, what it is you wish to promote or raise awareness about durig your reign. The speech will be from memory, to prepare you for speaking engagements including MTANL.

ACADEMIC TEST,  20 Points
-The test is Multiple Choice, & fill in the blank. It covers areas such as Problem Solving, Sciences, Entertainment, and Central Avalon Communities. The questions are mostly common knowledge.

TALENT COMPETITION, 5 Points
  -All contestants will participate, as we believe that everyone has a talent. Whether it be Academic, Arts, Sports or other we want you to creativly express to us your individual talent.
The talent need  not be traditional (Singing/ Instruments etc). Show us what you are great at, at the Talent Competition.

HEALTHY LIVING/FITNESS TEST, 5 Points
- All contestants will compete, completing a short written healthy living test as well as a physical fitness test.

 LEADERSHIP POTENTIAL  5 Points
- Throughout the 2 day event, at every event you attend, every rehersal, every moment, show us your confidence, & your leadership potential. A secret judge will decide this component.

Those  who achieve the highest scores will be placed accordingly:

2nd Runner-up
3rd Runner-up
4th Runner-up

5 Individual Awards will also be
presented:

Academic Excellence Award
Based on individual written academic test results, highest score wins the award.

 Avalon's Talented Teen Award
Based on live talent competition scores. The 3 highest scores will perform on Gala Night, highest score receiving the award

"Keeping the Pace", Healthy Living Award
Based on individual Healthy living written test in combination with the "keeping the pace" Fitness Test results

Asset to the Community Award
Awarded based on community involvement & volunteer work completed, References as outlined on the application may be contacted.

Competative Spirit  Award
Contestants will vote for the competitor, they feel has remained "the most gracious in the face of competition". The contestant with the most votes will recieve the award.
