On occasion, a member volunteer is recognized and presented with beautiful awards.
*Our first Volunteer to receive this honor was Mrs. Elise Clark. Elise served MDGA as Vice President for 6 years. She worked tirelessly to help set up the 4-H Dairy Goat Project in Mississippi. Elise was also a 4-H Volunteer Leader teaching young people about dairy goats and how to succeed in this project area. She is a successful Oberhasli breeder, promoting the breed and has served as MDGA Show Secretary for many years.
*Next would be Mrs. Chris Holland. Chris has been the MDGA Secretary/Treasurer since year one. She also is very active in 4-H promoting youth activities on a local and state level. She has served as MDGA Show Secretary each year. Chris enjoys her Saanens and Alpines and has a terrific Goat Milk Soap business.
*In 2005, a most deserving recipient was Dr. Carroll D. Pierce. Dr. Pierce has served as the President and backbone of MDGA since its inception in February 2000. Dr. Pierce is the breeder of top quality, beautiful Nubians. He has a heart for promoting our future breed leaders, our youth. He implemented MDGAs coveted "Most Improved Showman Award".
