The Half-Races (and other Related tri-and quad-races)

PEGATAUR:

Life Span: around 130 years

Description:  Think of a Centaur with wings, the centaur being smaller than normal but the wings being larger enough to be able to support the weight, and placed to account for the balance differences of being front-heavy. They are not good or evil, just the color of their coats tells what race of them it is. There are Dark (Blacks, most Blood Bays, and Grullo; other similar colors fit into this category), Neutral (the in-betweens) and Light. (the lightest shades of crème and gold) .  Thier eyes change colors with their emoitions, espically those that have studied Bard Magics for more than 20 years.  If the color corresponding with the emoition is the same as their own, the eyes become either darker or lighted, depending on their state-of-mind and the kind of emoition.  The colors go:

Amber: Anxiety and fear; Grazlyn's eye color.  When he is fearful or full of anziety, his eyes turn brown.
Blue: sorrow
Green: Distress
Indigo: Love, harmony, companionship
Orange: Usually after casting a physical spell that has nothing to do with emoitions, such as flame or an earthquake
Red: Bloodrage
Violet: Ranna's normal eye color...usually no emoition associated with this eye color.
Yellow: Anger; the brigher and clearer the yellow, the more pissed off they are.

Lifestyle (if avaiable):   They travel in clan Barras (a group of Pegataurs), but usually there is no trouble between the peaceful peoples of this race...only with the other races do they sometimes find any trouble. Otherwise they can be employed as an Air Force of a medieval sort.)

Most likely place to find: Continent of Sholomo, in the larger cities as the WingGuard, or in Gigolyn and Hajaan

Capitol City:  Hajaan, Sholomo

Players playing: 1 Mireldeyn/lizzardbreath
Characters: 2 (Ranna "The Hearold" "The Chosen" Kibeth *MAIN*, Grazlyn "The Walker" Vikter *SECOND*)

MINOTAUR:

Life Span: About 200 Years

Description:  Very muscular and strong.  They have a great endurance and speed.  As should be obvious, they are very bull-like, but retain that human quality that makes them a Half-creature of sorts.  They travel in tribes.  Ask Matthias for more information if interested in this race.

Lifestyle (if avaiable):  I don't have any information on this at this time.  I'm thinking, tho, that it is very medieval, as most things in this thread are.

Most likely place to find:  out and about; nearly everywhere

Capitol City: None

Players Playing: 1 (Matthias)
Characters: 5 (Tealc, Terra *MAIN GROUP*, Talc, Treyn, and Trayn *SECOND GROUP*)

CELESTARRI:

Life Span: IMMORTAL

Description: A winged Humaniod; white wings, feathered.  If banished, the wings turn to metal and are unuseable, and chains are put on the person tp restrict their powerful magics.

Lifestyle (if avaiable):  Verry much like the Courtiers of the Rennisance, from what I gather.  Verry 'High Class'.  Ask Saoirse for more information.

Most likely place to find:  The Sky Cities of the Celestarri; with Ranna's group.

Capitol City: Unknown

Players Playing: 1 (Saoirse)
Characters: 1 (Tempest)

RAGHK:

Life Span: About 80-100 years

Description: they are a cat-like race, HATE sunlight, tho a few have been known to like it. They are humanoids with ears, tail, and extendable claws like a cat, balance and grace, too, but have a human face and near lacking of fur. some _do_ pride themselves on being like the royal family, tho, and having a fur coat...it is rare, tho, and they are usually made into great warriors and mages that protect the royalty.  They also retain the cat eyes, and a slightly, slightly feline face.  There are more woman warriors, but men make up mostly the spellcasters they are cave-dwellers usually, and NOT nocturnal.

There are two clans: clan of Rock: distinguished by thier greyish fur/hair, and vivid green or brown eyes. Pride themselves in having almost None liking the sunlight.  6 noble families in the Rock clan: Galaied, Raja, Minnik, Asa'ua, Tillus, Sed'rusa.
Clan of River: the lighter colors, also the Clan of the Ruling Families. They tend to have several that can stand the light, and that sometimes even like it compared to darkness. They also tend to have the fuller fur coats, and almost _always_ have blue eyes. The powerful warriors come from this clan.

Lifestyle (if avaiable): They live in caves and have a caste system of servants, Lesser Nobility, Nobility, Warriors/Mages, and Regency, in that order.  They are vary civilized, and only escaped total destruction by the use of their abilities to 'tunnel' through solid rock.

Most likely place to find:  Desscraates Mountians, other major mountian ranges on Sholomo and Litta.

Capitol City:  Courtan, Litta

Players Playing: 1 (Elvendor)
Characters: 1 (Shadow)

Fae Races

Forest Pixie

Life Span: 15-20 years

Description:  Petite race of mischievious creatures. Pointy ears and little wings at the back mimicking nature's creation depending on the individual, mostly being moth-like wings. The tallest pixies are no taller than the regular rodent at full height. They are blessed with great magical capacity, which makes up for their minute size, though mostly being disruptive type. Generally evasive creatures, some are more eager with the gift of the gab than others. Pixies originated within great forests, where many hiding places present themselves and where intelligent folk are hardly aware of their existence.

Lifestyle (if avaiable):    Some migrate to the cities, finding civilisation too interesting to miss, and thus causes the distinction between Forest Pixies and the self-proclaimed 'Communal Pixies'. Pixies have no religion, aside from worshipping their ancestors, said to once tower among even Giants, and were cursed to such small size because of envy. They were known as the Titans, and are inspirations to those whom have high ambitions.

Most likely place to find:  Anywhere on any continent, with the exception of the deserted continents of Vox Tempastas and the Forbidden Lands

Capitol City:  Unknown, if any at all

Players playing: 1 (Omino)
Characters: Publoaf and his cat, Ashfeet.

The Other Pixies

OMINO'S POST

Suddenly, a blurred object impacted upon Publoaf's stomach, knocking him back onto the ground. Instinctively, Publoaf fought to rise up, only for the cold touch of metal upon his throat to deter his intentions.

His eyes fell upon a sight for sore eyes, minus the threat of death wielded by her hands. Long, lavish auburn hair tied neatly to a ponytail, drooped upon her left shoulder. Fierce emerald eyes stared deep into Publoaf's own, suspicion and scepticism marring a true beauty. Her lips were pursed and her expression stern. Yet, she was undoubtedly a Pixie.

"Speak thy name, outsider. Pray move, and your head goes off." warned a sweet, though slightly gruff voice. Publoaf opened his mouth to speak, but shock paralysed his tongue. A pixie? All the way here in this woods? Everything started to fall into place, the familiarity of the woods, the cozy atmosphere.

"Enough Blossom! He is of our own." a deep, commanding voice resounded from behind the female. There was a hint of disappointment in her face as she removed the dagger, sheathing it with frustration. Warily, Publoaf sat up, ready to conjure an illusion and escape if need be. Even towards other Pixies, Publoaf's spells were shockingly deceiving, bearing little to no defects from the actual thing.

However, he doubted his chances in this encounter. The one called Blossom was donned in warrior gear, barks acting as vambraces, pauldrons and chestplate, leaves tied to form greaves and several sheathed daggers upon her waist. The other Pixie looked elderly, wearing a head of white hair and wrinkles on his face. However, his fashion didn't differ from Blossom, equally equipped with various armour. A crude staff was slung across his back, and a scimitar rested upon his hands.

He strode forward, as Blossom tilted her head in respect. He was obviously a vizier commander in a Pixie Army Publoaf had never heard of, let alone imagined.

"This is wrong. Pixies don't fight." murmured Publoaf, unaware of his volume. The statement drew a glare from Blossom, but the elder warrior merely grinned.

"Haha. How long has it been since one of our Illusionist cousins got caught in a large folk battle!" the gleeful commander extended a hand, helping Publoaf back up on his feet.

"Welcome, fellow Pixie. I'm Commander Redhook. You're obviously unaware of our culture. And yet, speaking of bewilderment at Pixies fighting, you didn't seem to mind getting into trouble yourself."

Publoaf blushed. He knew it was ironic, but back at his home, none dare speak of the 'crude methods' of warfare. To them, Pixies were intelligent creatures, and should demonstrate as such. Wielding weapons or even offensive sorcery was a tarnishing act.

"You have much to learn about us, and us about you. Come, there are better spots to discuss."

Publoaf nodded, curiosity getting the better of him. Part of him felt guilt for not rushing back to the battlefield to aid his friends, but the current revelation proved too much to resist.

~*!*~*!*~*!*~*!*~*!*~*!*~*!*~*!*~*!*~*!*~*!*~*!*~*!*~*!*~*!*~*!*~*!*~*!*~*!*~

"Daemon?"

Publoaf echoed the exclamation by Knucklewind. Before, they were both embroiled in a conversation about cultures, comparing their approach and customs. Publoaf was intrigued to find a bustling Pixie community deep within the forest of this continent, bearing great resemblance to Publoaf's home, except that war was constantly in their minds. Pixies don armor and wielded weapons, relying on their affinity to Mind Magic to further aid their combat.

But all was silenced by the horns from afar, throwing a warning into the wind. Publoaf's bewildered look warranted an explanation, but neither Knucklewind nor anyone else within the vicinity seemed to be in any mood of talking. It was as if a great gloom fell upon the Pixies, and mourning was in progress.

Publoaf was tired of being ignored. He drew in power, and unleash a horde of illusions. Publoaf clones faded into view surrounding Knucklewind, all with arms crossed and a stern glare. A sword struck out at one of them, whom merely giggled before shimmering away. Blossom stared wide-eyed at the spectacle. Even Knucklewind had awaken from his stupor.

"Amazing, Publoaf. Your illusion skills are unlike any we have ever seen. With the proper training, you could make a fine Pixienaut."

Publoaf was still unfamiliar with the terms used by this community. The contrast between his and theirs was striking. While Publoaf possessed some proficiency in telekinesis, he couldn't imagine bearing a sword to battle. The denizens of Hollowtrunk, of which this warrior community was called, held different views, mainly due to the presence of Hunters. They fight for survival, while Publoaf's home never felt such oppression, therefore finding little need then to pull pranks and laugh their life away.

"It's from the battlefield, isn't it? The one between the dwarves against the Hunters?" asked Publoaf, worry in his heart.

"Yes, the same one Blossom's hawk saved you from. Feel blessed, Publoaf. Daemons are fearsome foes." answered Knucklewind, a portentous tone signifying the sincerity of his proclamation of the Daemon's horror.

But Publoaf was adamant. He removed himself from his chair, and his wings begun its flutter. Knucklewind immediately jump to his feet, realising the action of the young Pixie.

"Fool! You think your presence will make a difference? It takes a whole squadron to down a Hunter, let alone a Daemon. And what more, you aren't even built for battle!"

Publoaf didn't spare Knucklewind another look. He tilted upwards and ascended to the skies. A translucent net suddenly burst forth before him, swiftly encasing Publoaf in a restrictive substance. Publoaf struggled, recognising the brand of Mind Magic. He fought with his own, firing telekinetic energy downwards, catching Knucklewind right on the temple. He fell, howling and clutching his head. Publoaf's flight resumed, darting for the hint of sunlight breaking through the thick canopy.

A deep droning of wings signified the arrival of the calvary. Publoaf couldn't understand why his presence was so important, but he didn't wish to stay behind and figure it out. His friends needed him. Even with his limited powers, Publoaf would at least like to save his comrades the need to worry of his disappearance.

The first Pixienaut directed an assault to Publoaf's mind. It was a simple Psyblast, meant to derail the opponent's thought pattern, sometimes granting a migraine to pacify any intentions. Publoaf fought against the pain, gritting his teeth and continuing his escape. He knew they wouldn't raised their weapons against him, if they meant for him to stay alive.

Another Pixienaut on the left tugged at Publoaf's wings, which effectively ended his struggle. Mind incapicitated and wings arrested, Publoaf could only succumb to his fate. Publoaf's limp body reversed direction, and started plunging towards the ground.

The fall was interrupted by the same substance which tried to capture Publoaf initially. Knucklewind shook his head, lowering the Pixie to the ground.

"I'm sorry, Publoaf, we cannot allow you to return to certain death. It is not our way."

Moments later, Knucklewind and the 'successful' pursuers were left in shock. 'Publoaf' disintegrated, a smile on his lips, and a message from his mind.

"I'm sorry too, Knucklewind. I thank you for your hospitality, but like you, I cannot abandon my friends. It has been an honour."

Elves:

There are three races of Elves:

Drow Elf

Life Span: anywhere from 1,000-2,000 years

Description:  Black skinned, purple- or brown-eyed, lean but muscular.  Generally have silver hair and a fine bone structure, like all Elves.  Ears are curved to a tip, o'course.  They wear a lot of skins from the creatures that they find in the reals under the surface.

Lifestyle (if avaiable):  Typical hierarchy, only the roles are reversed for genders.  Women rule and work, wheres the men stay at home and care for the young (mainly becasue of the creatures that live in the ground).  Unpaired men also work with the women to help protect them.  But with other races they are curel and unforgiving, going to the surface to raid towns for food, clothing, and other goods.  They specialise in the Dark Arts of Asterael; those of torture, death, and crippling.

Most likely place to find:  at the foot of any mountian range, where there are many towns.  Only seen above ground when raiding, when few survive if any at all.  The only other time that you owuld see one is if it rebelled against their culture to join the ranks of the Dark Elves, or if you were taken underground to their vast cavernous cities.

Capitol City: Juggernat

Players Playing: None allowed to play

Dark Elf

Life Span: anywhere from 1,000-3,000 years

Description:  Brown skinned, purple-, gray-, or brown-eyed, lean but muscular.  Anywhere form silver to golden hair and a fine bone structure, like all Elves.  Ears are curved to a tip.  Clothed in silks, other fabrics, and a few taned hides.

Lifestyle (if avaiable):  Depends on where you go for how the classes are divided.  If most of the ancestory of the Dark Elves are placed with the Drow Elves, then it is like them.  If it is more with the High Elves, then thier class system is based on that.  If it is unknown, then they blen with whatever culture is around them.  However, like the Drow, the unpaired men also work with the women to help protect them.  They do not study under Asterael, but mainly under LaTrina or Sadonica.

Most likely place to find:  Anywhere.  They blend in with the larger cities, but they do have a few of their own.

Capitol City: Dunbury

Players Playing: None allowed to play

High Elf

Life Span: anywhere from 3,000-4,000 years

Description:  Pale skinned, blue-, gree-, and gray-eyed, lean but muscular.  Can have any color hair with the defining Elven fine bone structure.  Ears are curved to a sharp, long tip.  Wear mainly silks and other fabrics, though a High Elf in the field will wear taned hides for their durability.

Lifestyle (if avaiable):  Typical hierarchy.  Women work in the home and care for the young, wheres the men work.  Both genders are allowed to fight.  Unpaired men also work with the women to help protect them if the need arises.  Very learned in any lore becasue of their long lives, there are even a few who survived the Kline Wars that remember what it was like near the beginning.

Most likely place to find:  anywhere there is nature, or a Tower of Sorcery.  They have several towns and villages, but only a few cities still exist.

Capitol City: Stormpoint (in the Common Toung)

Players Playing: None allowed to play

Eltari

Realm/Kingdom: Lunaris

Lifespan:  Immortal

Leader: High Queen Imhildris Amani-Vhestis~Arialis

Leadership: Monarchy, Arquestis Lunaris (High Council of Lunaris)

[Deity:] Eva Luna (Evanesta Lunaris)

Race Description: The Eltari are majestic beings of light rarely seen by mortal eyes, but renowned for their glamour among mortals. The few that have seen them say that they are an astonishingly wise and beautiful people in tune with nature and all of its wonders. They belive in the life force and the essence of being and draw power from this. Though they do not hide themselves entirely from mortals they hold great control over magics and often disguise their realm in times of darkness.

The Eltari are ancient, and they have survived since the time of the Faeries though they are not as old... Little is known about their origins though the Elder-Scrolls of Siriel are believed to contain an epic tale of Elves and Faeries and wars before the calm. Only those in the High Council are permitted to view these scrolls which are held in the Temple-Arialis which is hidden deep within Lunaris.

Players Playing:  1 (Feanor)

Characters:

Faery

Life Span: around 200-300 years

Description:  lithe creatures with wings of many different kinds, but the majority of which are like the thin, glossy, iridescent wings of the dragonfly.  They have a tendency to have skin color like the places that they live (plains will have tan or greenish-brown, forest a darker green and mud brown, et cetera).  Their hair colors vary as well, ranging from white to the darkest black.  Their inner personalities (which, in most cases, are expressed as their personalities towards people) tend ot show up in their hairl color, however. (White= whise, blonde= caring, Red= short-tempered, brown=caring more about animals and plants than people, Dark Gray=kind but sometimes with alterior motives, Black= Dark, evil, mean...)  Their nails are usually grown to wicked lengths, and most are as strong as tempered steel.

Lifestyle (if avaiable):   What is known about the secluded Faeries is that they travel  in groups, that they were the Mother of the Eltari, and that they have never really had a home city since they were thrown out of the High Elf cities.

Most likely place to find: Anywhere if you have the right eye to look and discover. ^_-

Capitol City:  None known

Players playing: none allowed

Humanoid Races

Humans

Life Span: 100-300 years

Description:  Think Cro-Magnon man, but WAY more intelligent than what those stupid scientists thought. ^_-.  Otherwise, think human for the rest.  Their language is what they call New Sholomian, but I usually use Latin when making my quotes and such.

Lifestyle (if avaiable):   Typical Monarchy/Empire (depending on which continent you are on if the Humans are the Governing race).  They do not use the male line for apssing down of the crown, but which ever child was born first or has the will to rule and rule wisely.  In the noble homes, they are trained extensively in the arms and horseback manuvers, with several Houses teaching the Magics of the Elves to their children and guards.  In the phesantry families, it is very typical, but several of the children go to school to learn what was known as the "basics" for that time:  Reading, writing, swordplay, how to ride, and, if the parents who ran the school decided to, minor magics.  There were higher schools of learning for any class on any of these subjects, and phesant children were often sent to these work-for-your-education schools where they learned, and performed duties around the school if they could not pay the tuition.

Most likely place to find: Anywhere

Capitol City: There are two capitol cities:

On Sholomo: Starcenter Risen (usually just shortened to "Starcenter"...capitol of the Sholomo Kingdom)

On Lita: Garoot (capitol of the Garmian Empire)

Players playing: Gourmet Italia
Characters: 2 (Clayer Vinco and Vox Immortale...both "v"'s are pronounced like the Latin "v", which is really a "w". ^-^)

Dwarves

Life Span: 300-800 years

Description:  stockey, well-built race.  They hav colors that resemble the colors of the mossy trees and forested area that they live in.  Any Dwarf with a red beard or hair is said to be blessed by Ulyssei and Gal'di, for Ulyssei had the (at the time) bane of red hair and of a white complection, and he was said to be cursed because of it.  But since he was a hero, it is now considered a gift and a blessing.  They have earth-colored eyes as well, and there is no such thing as a Dwarf with blue eyes.

Lifestyle (if avaiable):   Monarchy with no seperation of Nobility and pheasentry...everyone is valued for their own personal skills.  Only people to be held in "High Reguard" is the Royal Line, decended from the Kline Wars hero Ulysses; they mostly live in trees, and live to mine the ground below their forest homes.  They are nearly all fire adapts, though there are a few (like Karrthi in Book 5) that have other strong abilities unrelated to fire.  All of the Dwarven communities are wealthy due to the mineral and metal deposites that they seem to always stumble upon in even the strangest places.

Most likely place to find: Continent of Rodinia

Capitol City: Warriton

Players playing: None Allowed

Hunters

Life Span: 200-400 years

Description:  "...People with semi- yet disproportional human features..."  "...the pale-skinned agressive warrior with his spiked blades and mowhawk died the color of fire..."  "...braid form the longer secton of hair on the Hunter's head...braid compleate with wooden beads and bird bones..."  They look similar to what we humans look like today, only their faces longer and their eyes set a little closer together.

Lifestyle (if avaiable):   No one can get close enough to the Hunter race in order to stud their culture.  No one has ever seen their women, either, for what the researchers from the other races have heard is that they worship their women, and think that they're too precious to go into battle.

Most likely place to find: The continent of Rodinia

Capitol City: Ingenium

Players playing: None Allowed

Full Forbidden Races (These cannot be fit into another category, as they are THAT strange)

Shade

Life Span:  Unknown.  Usually lasts until their power runs out, or their spirit wears out.

Description:  It is not truly know what brings a Shade into being. All that is known is that Shades were once mortal, and that they are Always skilled in the Magics of Shadow. They become far more powerful in darkness, and far weaker in sunlight, or even some unnatural lights, to a lesser extent.

They generally have dark black skin, radiating a slight aura of darkness. Shadows seem to cling to them. Their eyes vary from purple to mahogny-red.  They have long black or white hair.  They have a tendency to wear a lot of metal with runes placed in strange places, and they wear a lot of black clothing.

Lifestyle (if avaiable):   No information avaiable at this time.  They usually keep to themselves, so little is known about this race.

Most likely place to find: Nona Terra, where a great battle of Shadow Mages died and were 'reborn'.

Capitol City:  Quetztanol

Players playing: None currently
Characters: None

Zyagghizyr

Life Span:  Immortal

Description:  These are shape-shifting creatures composed wholly of volcanic ash and dust.  They have a variety of shapes that they can change into at will, but no one knows how their bodies do not disenagrate when the rains or strong winds come.  Because they were hit the worst of the still living Forbidden Races, there is little left of their culture and it is rare to run across one anywhere.

Lifestyle (if avaiable):    None avaiable at this time.

Most likely place to find:   The islands on the northwest coast of Litta

Capitol City:   the Volcano Killaman

Players playing: None currently
Characters: None

Spell Stitched Ak'Chazar Lich

Life Span: Unknown

Description:  The Ak'Chazar is a being that looks like a humanoid tiger. The body seems mostly human exept for a luxerious coat of tiger's fur and its tiger head (Snow tiger AKA Moontiger).  A closer look at a Ak'Chazar reveals that the palms of its hands are where the backs would be on a human. While this doesn't detract from it's manual dexterity, it can make a Ak'Chazar look very disturbing to those unfamiliar with the Ak'Chazar.  The Ak'Chazar are a naturaly gifted race when it comes to magic.  It is said that Magic itself runs through the veins of a Ak'Chazar, though this has yet to be proven (Though all know at least the simplest spells.)

Lifestyle (if avaiable):    The Ak'Chazar are a race that mostly keeps to themselves as they are very wary of strangers, since in the past they have faced several "Crusades" against them and have had several magic wielders attempt to plunder their secrets

Most likely place to find:  Wilderness areas; places of little civilization.

Capitol City:  As they keep to themselves, there would be no capitol city.

Players playing: 1(Flame)
Characters: Zaraoul

Dragon/Cold-blooded races

Dragons

Life Span: The oldest dragon lived to be 800 years old, and died during the Kline Wars; they were a fairly "young" race in the world, and were created as an afterthought.

Description:  Continously increasing in size, the dragons start out at about 11 inches long witha wingspan of 25 inches, and keep growing, the males growing faster and bigger than the females.  They come in all colors, and they usually have a metallic sheen to every part of their body as long as they were healthy.  Some species had fur over the tops of their scales in order to keep warmer in the cold climates.  They were warm-blooded creatures.  They had horns on their heads varying in size and shape, and the males gemerally had spikes all over their bodies for fighting.  Their feet look like a humans hands, except for their back feet whitch either had 1 or 2 claws as the "Back Toes" on their heels, and had 4 toes on the front of the feet.  They were omniviours, though they prefered meat above all else.

Lifestyle (if avaiable):   They lived in an Alpha Hierarchy, but also had the nobility.  They Queen, or Alpha Female, weilded just as much power as her husband/mate.  They would fight for this position, though none ever won it away from the now dead King Dragon, who died during the Kline Wars.

Most likely place to find:  No where.  They are siad to be extinct

Capitol City: Bouldor, Draco

Players playing: None Allowed

Lifestyle (if avaiable):   They blend in with what ever society they are livign with.  In their capitol, they have an elected Clan leader.  It is usually of the Tyrae Oryx clan.

Life Span: 200 years

Daemon

Life Span:

Description:  "...Now, the last time I faught the Daemons, they were outnumbered 5-to-1, and it still took all of our strength to take down the six creatures. We lost half of our people. Now, you don't have the luxery of a weighted battle, they do. So we need any strategys you have. Things that work against the Harpies and Gryphons, both I know are your enemies, generally work against them. Their weaknesses are wings, as with any flying creature. Also, they go into bloodrages much like Kabraxis..." she trailed off, looking for the Prodigy. He was no where around. She shrugged, remembering how much he hated cities and knew that he could take care of himself outside the walls.

"Anyways, they go into Bloodrages easily. Yes, they can do some major damage, but if your warriors are charmed...it helps. They can cast magic, but they have an allergy to water and earth magics. If you have someone cast on them, even if it is uncompleate, they will die.""
