DEAR MIRANDA KERR FANS.VISIT MY NEW SITE, MIRANDAKERRVERSION2!

With her electric blue eyes, brunette locks, bright smile and lithe 175cm body, Miranda Kerr is the hottest model in the fashion industry. Back in 1997, a 13 year old girl by the name of Miranda Kerr entered Dolly Magazine's CoverGirl Model Competition and won, which was not very surprising. From then on she has modelled for Voodoo Dolls, Levi's, Portmans, Jets swimwear, Lisa Ho, Veet, Bonds, Peter Alexander and walked for Australian designers such as Bettina Liano, Nicola Finetti, Lover, camilla&marc and Leona Edmiston.
Since relocating to the Big Apple, New York, in mid-2004, Kerr has done catwalk shows for Betsey Johnson and Heatherette (just to name a few), scored herself a Maybelline contract alongside with Brazilian supermodel, a regular face of Maybelline, Adriana Lima, modelled for Neiman Marcus and Victoria's Secret who's previous models were Gisele Bundchen, Alessandra Ambrosio and Caroline Winberg.
Back in Australia, Kerr is a regular model for Madison magazine's fashion shoots and the current face of Portmans, having done three commercials for Portmans and one for Veets.
For all her turns on catwalk, glossy photoshoots and appearances in magazines spreads, it's hard to imagine, Miranda, 22, without make-up or hanging with her family and friends. The catwalk's reigning brunette is changing the face of fashion with her beauty; inside and out.

Hi my name is Ivy Liew and welcome to mirandakerr-net. This site is dedicated to the gorgeus, stunning model, Miranda Kerr. Thankyou for visiting and remember to check back for any updates and new picture. Also, check out my blog for any entries and sign my guestbook if you like!

DOLLY: You won Dolly's Covergirl comp in 1997. Did it change your life?
MIRANDA: It opened the whole fashion world up to me. The publicity alone really made a name for me. Over the next few years, I only modelled for DOLLY, but when I moved to Sydney after school and joined an agency, I already had my name out there and pictures for my book.
DOLLY: There was alot of controversy because you were only thirteen at the time..
MIRANDA: They were blowing out of proportion. In the media at the time they were trying to cling on to anything remotely to do with paedophilia. Dolly is a magazine for teenage girls, not for old men. And I was fully clothed! Doing a winter shoot! They just made something out of nothing.
DOLLY: How do feel about the media now?
MIRANDA: The media sometimes gets things wrong. I remember reading a newspaper article saying how I saw being stalked and had to put bars on my windows...It was all just wrong!
DOLLY: What made you want to finish highschool before modelling?
MIRANDA: I think it's really important to have your education behind you. I was young and modelling was still going to be there for me when I finished school. Modelling is such a short lived career; it's not something I can live off forever.
DOLLY: What do you have planned for life after modelling?
MIRANDA: Six months ago I started studying nutrition and psychology via correspondence. My goals are to finish my course and hopefully one day open my own shop, so I can help people and heal people.
DOLLY: You get to travel the world, but do you ever miss Gunnedah?
MIRANDA: I go back there for Christmas because my grandma still lives there. It was so much fun growing up in the country. We never got bored; we rode horses and motorbikes, and we'd have picnics in a little tree house we had put the back. There was always something to do and I alway s felt really safe.
DOLLY: Do you thinkgrowing up in a small town helped you to stay down to earth?
MIRANDA: It was definitely grounding for me to grow up in a small town, but I also think it has alot to do with my parents. they have very strong morals and they've passed them on to me. My mum always said, "Miranda, the day modelling changes you is the day you stop doing it,".
DOLLY: What's a lesson you learned in your career the hard way?
MIRANDA: To get a good night's sleep before a shoot! Actually, my early days at DOLLY really opened my eyes to the modelling world. I was so young and naive, and when I got my first DOLLY shoot, I thought I got to pick my own clothes! It's funny to look back!
DOLLY: Do you consider yourself a modelling veteran now?
MIRANDA: I wouldn't say I was a veteran, but I'd say all my experience has led me to know what works and waht doesn't on a shoot. I know what angles will work on a photo, I know i have to get treatment in my hair and a facial before and after Fashion Week...expreience helps with that.
DOLLY: Is there any advice the DOLLY girls have gave you in your early days that stuck with you?
MIRANDA: Shonagh Walker, the beauty editor at the time, said to me, "You have such a beautiful soul Miranda, don't ever lose that," I've always taken that with me.

Maybe it's her bright eyes, or her mile-long legs, or that long, brown hair - or it could be her big smile... but there's something about Miranda that makes us sure she has exactly what it takes to become a great model. We know you guys agree because you voted her in as the winner of the 1997 Dolly/Impulse Model Contest. So, here's the lowdown on the lovely Miranda. Apart from the fact that she's now on the cover of Dolly, Miranda's a typical 13-year-old. She thinks her friends are more important than anything else in the world because, "they will always be there", her hero is her "unreal" mum and she was totally excited about flying all by herself to Sydney to hang out with the Dolly team and the other finalists at the shoot last year. Sure, she's a total sweetheart, the kind of girl you'd hang out with, but hey, being a sweetie isn't gonna make you a top model unless you have the look and professional attitude, as well. Fortunately, Miranda is real confident in front of the camera and she's totally professional (even though she's just 13). No temper tantrums from this girl - she does exactly what she's asked. She's a natural and we all know she definitely has the looks! Of course, being 13, Miranda's only in Year Eight and so, still has heaps of school ahead of her. She's decided modelling will only be a part-time gig until she finishes school because she knows how important her education is. However, she's looking forward to launching her modelling career and it helps that she loves being around people and is keen to travel. Right now, her 11-year-old brother is her hugest fan but we reckon things will change when her career takes off, which judging by the experts' opinion, will be soon. Don't say we didn't warn you! Peter Chadwick of Chadwick Model Management says:
Dolly Editor, Susie Pitts, says:
Melissa O'Shea from Impulse says: "When we were choosing the finalists we were faced with six stunning girls -what an impossible task for the Dolly readers to choose one winner! In the end it was Miranda's youthful charm and freshness that made her stand out. She's very relaxed in front of the camera - a natural."
Viva Vayspap, Dolly Fashion Editor, says: "Miranda is gorgeous. She has fantastic features bit I couldn't pick out just one - she's great skin, great hair and great legs that make her look soooo tall so it's hard to pick one thing. She's a bit like Kate Moss because she's tall, but still petite. I really think she has what it takes to make it great as a model."
by Jane McCune ____________________________________ Dolly Magazine - June 1997 How did you feel when you found out you'd won the Dolly/Impulse Model Contest? Words can't explain how I felt when Peter Chadwick (owner of Model Management) called out my name as the winner. I nearly died! I thought I was dreaming - I saw my Mum and just cried, I was so excited but I also feft a bit sad for the other girls. I wish we all could have won - that's the only thing that would have made the evening any better than it was. What do you think of all the fuss that went on in the media? All the media attention was absolutely ludicrous. I don't think it would have mattered how old I was, they would have still made it out to be something it wasn't. I was more concerned about Dolly and Susie. I was fine, I just didn't take any notice of it all. What have your school friends said about you winning the contest? They were just as excited as I was and were really supportive about the whole thing. The whole town supported me and my family and that's what counts. What was the first thing you did when you got home from Sydney after the contest? The day I arrived home my family had a surprise party for me and the following weekend, my friends planned a surprise party - they were all hiding in the shed. I thought we were just going out for tea! Where would you like your modelling career to take you? Everywhere! All over the world and back again, but with my family and friends beside me. Who knows? I don't know where this will lead but I know I want to work for myself and travel and have fun. Whatever happens, happens! Can you see yourself on the catwalks of Europe, or hanging out with supermodels like Kate Moss in New York? Yeah, I can see myself there - I've got a good imagination! But whether or not I get there is another question. I believe you've got to have dreams and believe in them and one day they might just come true. Who would have ever thought I'd win the Dolly/mpulse Model Contest? Certainly not me, but sometimes dreams do come true! People have said you're too skinny and that you starve yourself. Let's shut them up by printing everything you'd eat in a day. I have five meals a day and I eat like a horse. (Dolly chaperone Helen can vouch for that!) I want to be healthy so I have to eat sensibly. I drink heaps of water and don't eat much fat or junk food. I actually eat more than Dad! Breakfast - water, fruit, cereal, toast and orange juice, Morning tea -a muesli bar, fruit, apple juice and chips. Lunch - usually a chicken and salad sandwich, chocolate milk or water and another muesli bar. Afternoon tea - usually at Nan's and always a chicken salad sandwich and some lollies. Dinner - I always have a big dinner of steak or chicken and veggies and dessert! What kind of excercise do you do? I play touch football, basketball, tennis and and occasionally go to the gym. What's your favourite band? Savage Garden and silverchair and I love listening to the Top 10. Do you have a crush on any movie stars? Oh yes - JTT! He's really cute. What's your favourite colour? Purple - I love it. I've got purple everything, even nail polish, and I just bought a new purple jumper. What's your fave TV show? Friends. Who's your favourite character on it? Probably Phoebe - she's really funny. Who are your fave supermodels? Linda Evangelista and Kate Moss. Who are your fave designers? Calvin Klein and Gucci. What's your best-ever piece of clothing? My good old denim shorts. What's your favourite pig-out food? chocolate! Your best-ever beauty tip? Sleep, water and good food. Do you have any pets? Yes, I have a cute little fox terrier called Minnie. Do you have a boyfriend? No, but I really like a guy - he's a honey! What's your philosophy on life? I have two: "If you think you can or if you think you can't, you're right," and "You can achieve anything you set your mind to, but don't hurt anyone along the way." Who's your best friend? I have loads of friends and they include, Lauren Pickett, Lisa Knapman, Laura Fulwood, Nicole Whitfield and Paul Ingham, but my closest friend is Lauren. What do you and your friends do for fun? Shop till we drop. We also go to parties, listen to music, and laugh! What's the most fun thing you've done? Entered the Dolly/Impulse Model Contest and spent a weekend in Sydney What's a sure-fire cure for the blues? I listen to music, phone my fave cousin Bec and hang out with my friends. Also, if I'm feeling down, I talk to Mum and Dad and believe it or not, my little brother Matt!
Dolly Magazine - April 1997
"When we went through the thousands of entries we saw Miranda's shots and from the very beginning I thought, this could be our winner - and obviously the readers agreed. She looks like a Dolly covergirl should. The thing that appeals to me about her is this incredible gamine look - that's what will work for her. She's not your average beach girl. There is definitely a bit of Audrey Hepburn, too. She's got something very special."
"When the January issue went to print I knew that only one of the six finalists had the potential to be a model, but only one can win and I'm very proud of Miranda. She really is a beautiful girl with an exceptional look. She's also passionate about being a model, which really helps I this business. When Viva came back with the shots of her, I was amazed at how natural she looked in front of the camera, too - it was like she'd been doing this for most of her life!"
Health Tip: "I eat organic food, and alot of fruit and vegies, I also drink lots of water,"
Beauty Tip: "Get treatment in my hair and a facial before and after Fashion Week,"

Hair Care Tip: "I really have to look after my hair otherwise the colour looks dull," . "I use hair treatments every couple of weeks and invest in good salon shampoos and conditioners to keep it looking healthy," she adds.

1. Just Relax: There are no set ways about the right way or wrong way to stand or sit for photos. Honestly, it's all about however you feel the most comfortable. As long as you pose doesn't look forced and seems natural, you'll get a much better result.
2. Work With What You've Got: Everybody's different. Some angles are going to be more flattering than others. The trick is to figure out the angles that make you look good in photos and try to use that to your advantage.
3. Treat The Camera Like A Friend: When I model I try to pretend I am looking at someone, not the camera. This way your actions will come across more real. To achieve a natural smile, think of something that makes you happy. Feel it in your soul and it will shine through.
4. Don't Fake It: Keep it real. Nothing looks worse thatn a fake posed shot. If you feel comfortable in your own skin the photo will look the best.
5. Confidence Is Sexy: Be confident in who you are because everyone is beautiful in their own way. The most beautiful people are not necessarily the most attractive. it's about how you hold yourself, act and feel.
Other Tips:
1.The best way to avoid a double-chin is to place you head slightly away from your neck.
2. Develop your own rhythm when walking the catwalk.
3. Relax infront of the camera.
4. Always walk with confidence.
5. Learn to love yourself and others will too.
