Despite the terrible in most parts of the UK over the weekend--Coventry based Team Endura--Thule--24/7--M.I.Race Team put up some incredible performances, to add to that of their Team Boss Mick Ives's Championship ride reported earlier.
Warwicks top Racing Cyclist--John Stevenson , won the Solihull Road Race over 50 mls in cracking style.
The event held on the Bearley/Snitterfield circuit,in South Warwickshire, should have been 60 mls --ie 6 laps , but due to the heavy rain it was reduced to 5 laps--with 4 laps to go Stevenson and another rider from the promoting club , broke clear of the main field--they were being chased by 2 other riders , one of which was Stevensons team mate Johnathan Griffin , who was not doing any work , but unfortunatly he punctured, and the sole chaser never got closer to the 2 leaders than 1 1/2 mins, and the main field chasing 4th place were a further 3 mins down at the finish , where Stevenson , easily won the sprint .--his 4th victory of the season.
In the British 25 ml Time Trial Championship held in Norfolk -Top lady rider Avril Swan ( St Ives ) ,finished a brilliant 12 th with a time of 1 hr and 11 secs.
In the Evesham Wh. 10 ml Tim Trial, held on the Alcester By Pass --Rugby's 70 yr old John Dixon was 1st on Standard with an actual time of 25 mins14 sec. and team mate 62 yr old Barrie Mitchell ( Marton ) finished 2nd with actual time of 23-15--another one, two for the Team
Mountain Biker Mark James led a a composite Team to win the 12 hour Bristol Bike Feast endurance event
while Triathelte Stacey Penn finishd 6th best Lady and 3rd in Age Class in the British Short Course Triathlon Championshps at Olney , Northhamptonshire, and now qualifies for the World Championships in Australia.
An incredible week ends results by the Team , in 4 different disciplins of the Sport.
