Minus 273 was formed in Leuven, Belgium when Tom (drums) and Phil (guitar), both playing in another band, decided to start a new project. Soon Simon joined as the singer and Minus 273 was born: a melodic death metal band, influenced by the Gothenburg/Göteborg scene.
When also Mike was added on the bass, the basics were there but something was still missing. In September, 2005 Luke joined the band on the guitar to add more power to the sound. This also made it possible to add a variety of harmonies to the music. Now the band was complete.
Since then two demos have been recorded, several gigs have been played and the sound has evolved, forming an entity of coherent riffs combined with melodic harmonies, fast and varied drums including blast beats, and death metal vocals. Although it started as a joke, the words 'Lövenburg death' are now proudly a part of our logo.
