Below you can find information about the railway.
This is a Drivers View of the track. It consists of 3x 2m long sections of track laid in the garage.
The rails are 1x2" timber and the sleepers are 2x2" timber. The rails are nailed to the sleepers using 50mm Flat-Head Nails.
The gauge of the track is 7.25" (184.5mm).
I have had alot of fun building this project. It allows me to run my trains at home.
One thing, if you construct something like this to run your stock on...
Remember it's only wood.Don't put too much weight on the track. Also, pre-drill the holes in the rails, as it will make it alot easier to hammer the nails in.Apart from that, have fun!
I have noticed that the rail inside (where the wheel runs) gets a coat of brown on it as you run over it.This being due to the dirt on the wheels. This leaves the wheels being smooth, which is ok.
