The 'Good Book' says in Psalms 66:1, (written to the chief musician), "Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands. Sing forth the honor of His name: make His praise glorious." That is not only a Biblical principle, that has rang true for thousands of years, but makes for a very sound music industry principle as well. Especially so, if performed in a jumpin', and very cool, yet classy, New Orleans jazzy and timeless style that has what it takes to move, (both spiritually and musically), anyone from age 3 to 30 to 3,000!   I'm here to bear witness, that if you have ears at all, you are going to love the absolutely stellar latest CD release from The Blind Boys of Alabama titled "Down in New Orleans" that delivers all of the above and more!

In both, my professional and personal opinion, from the extreme vast amount of broad marketing and audience appeal, on The Blind Boys of Alabama's latest CD, "Down in New Orleans" should definitely be considered for "Album of the Year", at the next Dove and Grammy Awards. I have no doubt, that anyone, regardless of age, race, geographics, or even religious affiliation, (even heathens), would find this CD richly enjoyable, as the diversity of styles mixed together within this CD, embraces such a wide range of musical styles such as early R&B and soul, New Orleans Dixieland style jazz, fused with absolutely great traditional style Gospel with a very definite funky edge.  The resulting combination of excellent musicianship, styles and Heavenly vocals and harmonies (that the Blind Boys of Alabama have been world famous for decades for), delivers also to listeners, soul stirring and thought provoking lyrics with a positive vibe and message of universal brotherly love and appeal, making this CD worthy of award winning acclaim.

Every track from this CD is like good medicine for a hurting world, and is indeed a 'joyful noise', as even beyond the excellence in the quality of musicianship, the embracing of many styles, and thought provoking lyrics, this CD has what it takes to become one of the great 'must have' classics for years to come, because of the fact that the music on this CD is also downright fun to listen to!

Considering the exceptionally impressive history of The Blind Boys of Alabama's career, (spanning not only years, or decades, but several entire generations of providing outstanding entertainment to audiences both nationally and worldwide), if any group of musicians on the planet today deserve the title of "Chief Musicians", as written about in Psalms 66:1, The Blind Boys of Alabama certainly deserve that title!  (And how about a "Lifetime Achievement Award" as well?)

Though there has been a number of changes in the line up of The Blind Boys of Alabama over the years since the founding of the group, which was originally formed back in 1939 at the Talladega Institute for the Blind, originally calling themselves The Happyland Singers; Singer Jimmy Lee Carter of BBoA has been a constant since the group's formation, up until present day as the group has become the widely respected and world renowned legends of American Roots and Gospel music that The Blind Boys of Alabama are today. Having been a consistent working act for seven miraculous decades, not only makes The Blind Boys of Alabama one of the acts with the longest running careers in American history, but also in the history of the music and entertainment industry worldwide.

Rising Country Music Artist Stephen Combs: The Real Thing.

  In a perfect world, it would be an absolute prerequisite for one to possess an exceptional talent at writing/creating and/or performing music, (both in live and in the studio), that vast multitudes of people could relate to and respect for their pure excellence in musicianship and professionalism, to achieve major success in the music industry. In my opinion, and that of many other music lovers, "either you have it or you don't", is the ultimate way it should be.

Unfortunately, all too often in the world we live in today, who makes it to the top in the music industry is many times more determined by 'other elements' (besides real, true talent), that should not be a determining factor; such as sex appeal, or having "the look", the ability to shake one's booty. ...(Hey, puppies are cute too, but they still poop on the floor). ...And of course, how much money that an 'artist' is willing to put up.

It's a sad fact, recording contracts and music industry successes are 'bought' every day by people that couldn't carry a tune in a Freightliner. In short, if it were not for pitch correction devices and the use of track sets and lip syncing, some major 'artists' in the music industry today would not stand a chance of having a career in the music industry at all, if we lived in that 'perfect world'.

Those who caught The Academy of Country Music Awards this past Sunday night are certainly clued in to the point I am trying to convey. And kudos and bravo to the exec(s) that (obviously), decided that lip syncing was not allowed at this event. To those who made that decision, I sincerely thank and applaud you, as in that decision, millions heard and saw first hand, who the 'real stars' of country music are. (And in a few instances, are not).

I don't know about anyone else, but to me, it seems nothing short of 'theft by deception' inflicted on the fans that support artists, when fans pay their hard earned money for concert tickets, (which are not cheap these days), to hear an artist or band perform live, and that artist is either lip syncing or using pitch correction devices during a live performance. And wouldn't it be cool (for a switch), to be able to see and hear an artist or band that actually 'does have it', and has the (real and honest), talent to deliver a great performance to fans? Kudos to the great artists who actually do 'have it', and perform your music 100% real and live, as you certainly have my respect. For those who don't have it...look out, as there is one truly outstanding artist on the rise within the music industry who is indeed THE REAL THING, and I am about to introduce the world to him...right now.

Connoisseurs of great country music worldwide, meet the real thing, fast rising country artist, Stephen Combs. Exceptional talent, both as a songwriter and a vocalist, no lip syncing, no pitch correction, bringing to fans dynamic live performances, and yes, the man can't help it if he just so happens to be equally as good looking, with plenty of natural sex appeal to burn, (country catnip), though Stephen is a true blue Southern gentleman through and through. Stephen Combs is that true class act that delivers the total package, as his many loyal fans can attest.

   Absolutely no false advertising when it comes to Stephen Combs' latest independently produced CD titled, "I'll Just Show You", as Stephen Combs does exactly that, and exhibits prolific skills as a songwriter, guitarist and vocalist on this CD. And though his capabilities are more than apparent on this CD, live and in person, his caliber of musicianship and songwriting shines even brighter.  (I experienced this first hand when Stephen paid a visit to the home office of Mindsweep Entertainment & Promotions, picked up my Ibanez Talman Inner City electric/acoustic guitar, and began singing the latest song that he had just written. No kidding, it gave me chills, to the point of hairs standing straight up, which is no easy feat here in Jacksonville, Florida, late afternoon on a hot sunny day, after listening to a number of artists all day long). The man has perfect pitch and masters both nuances and dynamics vocally with well practiced perfection, and pours out what this man is made of with an extremely strong, clear voice. His songwriting is equally as impressive. If I had been a record label exec rather than a PR, press and media relations specialist (Mindsweep Entertainment & Promotions), and a booking agent, (T&T Management & Booking Agency), I would have signed the man on the spot. ...He's THAT good! Place him on a stage with his band, and that's the stuff headlining acts (worthy of that status), are made of.

Stephen employed some fine hired guns as studio musicians on his latest CD, "I'll Just Show You", but for Stephen Combs' upcoming tour to promote this CD, he calls on the talents of a number of Jacksonville Florida area's finest veteran musicians. Geared up and ready to roll is the very notable young, but certainly not green, Johnny Roberts, a smokin', red hot lead guitarist who performs well beyond his 23 years.

Stephen Combs' CD "I'll Just Show You", which is Stephen's second CD, and consisting of outstanding all original material, was recorded at Vision Sound Studios (www.visionsounds.com), in Orange Park, Florida, and was produced by well known and esteemed Producer, Scott Fravala, who aided in getting the widely popular band Red Jumpsuit Apparatus signed to the roster of Virgin Records, and has a number of world renowned acts on his impressive and prestigious list of clients.

Stephen Combs' roots are as genuine as his musical talent, having grown up in a small town of Glen St. Mary, Florida, with a population of about 500 residents, (about as true country as cracklins on cornbread), which is located about 32 miles West of Jacksonville, Florida. Having done so, created it's own set of unique challenges for Stephen Combs to overcome in his quest for success in the music industry. As one just won't find too many music industry execs seeking the next major artist in a town that small, that is within an hour's drive of a known music industry city of well over a million people, in which so many great artists of all genres have risen out of such as: Classics IV, The Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gary US Bonds, Rossington-Collins Band, 38 Special, Molly Hatchet, Van Zant, Blackfoot, Limp Bizkit, Cold, Yellowcard, Shinedown, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Derek Trucks, Glenn Jones amongst many others. However, to spite the fact that their are multitudes of other artists and bands from the area, Stephen Combs has managed to overcome those odds, and has indeed become a very well known favorite in the Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia region with possibly thousands of fans in the Jacksonville (and surrounding areas) alone, and is the first choice for many well known established events such as the famed The Suwannee River Jam, for 4 years running, and large events in the metro area such as the Jacksonville Boat Show, and performing live remotes for local radio stations of the metropolitan area. With one listen to Stephen Combs talent from his new CD, and it becomes crystal clear how Stephen has managed to overcome the odds, as Stephen Combs possesses a talent which is nothing less than true star quality caliber.

You can bet, as Stephen's new manager, a tour is in the works to promote his CD, and we are currently seeking and accepting dates at better club venues, and festivals throughout the entire US; as well as seeking and accepting sponsorship and endorsements as we would like to extend Stephen's tour to embrace fans worldwide. Stephen has expressed an interest to perform for fans all throughout Europe, and would love to visit such countries as England, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Norway, Belgium, Sweden, France, Italy, Greece, Spain, Russia, Australia, Mexico, Central and South America, Canada and would love to see and perform in Japan and other Asian destinations; and perform anywhere and everywhere fans demand.

Of course, Stephen would make an excellent and perfect opening/supporting act for (brave) major headlining artists, and to have Stephen as one's touring supporting act could be very advantageous, (for both artists and sponsors), as we are at the very beginning of a major press and media campaign, and would certainly announce in future articles, worldwide press releases and media appearances who Stephen is touring with, and list upcoming concert dates, (and sponsors), etc., which would vastly increase any headliner's concert ticket and CD sales. And of course, since I am Stephen's manager at Mindsweep Entertainment & Promotions and also happen to manage the Florida office of T&T Management & Booking Agency, we would have to include and push a little harder for bookings for any headlining artist willing to have Stephen as their touring support.

Since I am not a record label exec and could not sign him, I did however offer to manage Stephen's career, (which he accepted), and will be turning on a number of very esteemed record label executive friends, clients and associates on to the talents of Stephen Combs, as well as turning on one of the music industry's top radio promotions execs, Ken Pearson, of Bluesprings Music Group and Lure Records, (a name synonymous with success in the music industry), on to Stephen, and presenting Stephen's many talents to the CEO of T&T Management & Booking Agency, Tony Saldano, with a strong recommendation of signing Stephen to T&T's immense roster of over 300 headlining artists.  (And no doubt, I am pitching Stephen to talent buyers as an opening act for the major headliners I work with).

Since I will be both, booking and handling press and media relations, fans can expect to be seeing, reading about, and hearing Stephen Combs on a very large scale in the very near future, as Stephen Combs has the talent, and we have the right connections, to finally bring to fans of great country music everywhere, THE REAL THING. Besides the obvious, high quality performances and excellence in musicianship, the mark of a truly great performer can be defined by these three elements: 1) Who the execs in the music industry listen to when they are not working; (as music industry execs have to listen to music all day long, and most work extremely long work days). 2) Who the most respected performers in the music industry choose to collaborate and perform with. And 3) A performer who has a positively innate and unique sound that stands out and is distinctly their own, that hooks and astounds the listener from the start. ...And keeps them hooked!

Such is the case with one of Jazz's most riveting artists, Joseph Patrick Moore, who has ALL the elements that mark a truly great performer, and more!

Great news for Joseph Patrick Moore's many fans worldwide, JPM is currently busy putting together his 7th CD release, entitled 'Thumper", (on Atlanta based Blue Canoe Records), which is appropriately named for his distinct style of performing very classy, yet blistering performances on bass, incorporated as the lead instrument, in his musical compilations, which no doubt, attests for the very unique quality and sound of Joseph Patrick Moore's music, and which indeed is the evidence of several of the marks that defines a truly great artist.

JPM will be performing live this October and early November in Europe along side WITH The Chris Duarte Group, which is touring to promote the guitar shredding Chris Duarte's new CD release, "Blue Velocity" which is available on Blues Bureau International (a subsidiary of Shrapnel Records).

Chris Duarte also performed on the recently released CD, "Freeway Jam - To Beck And Back", a tribute album to Jeff Beck, which also features performances from such greats as Steve Morse, John Scofield, Eric Johnson, Adam Rogers, Mike Stern, Warren Haynes, Greg Howe, Walter Trout, and many more. Needless to say, these dates promise to be some amazingly action packed shows!

Other the elements that mark the greatness of an artist can be clearly recognized via Joseph Patrick Moore's last release, "Decade" released in 2005, (on Blue Canoe Records), which was the celebration and mark of 10 years as a professional touring artist for Joseph Patrick Moore, and featured performances from members of some of the music industry's most celebrated acts such as Jimmy Herring, (Grateful Dead), Jon Chalden, (Sheryl Crow), Yanrico Scott, (Derek Trucks Band), Jeff Sipe, (Susan Tedeschi), Buzz Amato, (Curtis Mayfield), Adam Nitti, (Steven Curtis Chapman), and many other very respected and renown artists. From both the sight of the impressive credits and from the sound of the high caliber of musicianship displayed on this outstanding CD by all of the contributing dynamic and esteemed artists with the pioneering and signature sound of Joseph Patrick Moore at the helm, performing lead on bass; there is no questioning why Joseph Patrick Moore is considered both a favorite amongst fans and true connoisseurs of great jazz, but is also considered a true 'musicians musician' amongst the music industry's elite.

Besides the great artists that performed on Joseph Patrick Moore's CD "Decade", it is a regular event that a number of the esteemed artists on the Blue Canoe record label ask Joseph Patrick Moore to work with them on their CD's as well, either adding his mastery as a musician or adding his talent as a very capable producer. As a music industry exec myself, (Vice President of Mindsweep Entertainment & Promotions, which specializes in and provides PR, press and media relations services, working with many renowned artists, record labels, agencies and others within the music industry, and also working as a booking agent for

I was quite pleased the day I received Joseph Patrick Moore's CD "Decade", as I was already well aware of his immense talent, but when I popped his CD into the office stereo, (which is connected to a screaming PA system), it exceeded even my expectations of this great artist's work, and indeed the quality of musicianship on JPM's "Decade" stopped me in my tracks at work and thoroughly captivated me from the very first note on the CD to the very last, on this 15 song smoking CD.

(As it did the entire West side of Jacksonville, Florida, as I couldn't help myself, and had to crank it up). Joseph Patrick Moore's "Decade" has been one of my very favorite CD's and have remained 'hooked' ever since, as it is for many jazz lovers everywhere, that appreciate the fun, yet sophisticated sound which is part of the distinction of Joseph Patrick Moore's music, which delves into many of the sub genres of jazz, widely ranging from contemporary smooth to extremely progressive fiery hot jazz, experimental, rock and funk style of jazz, with sometimes subtle elements of the classical style of jazz, and everything in between. (Which no doubt, draws fans of all the sub genres of jazz, and is also appealing to rock and funk fans as well, creating a vast and global marketability for JPM's musical product, which reaches beyond all the normal boundaries of age, race, geographic, and other marketing demographic boundaries and limitations, etc.)

Of course, being that impressed with both the talent and marketability of Joseph Patrick Moore's music, I had to turn my good friend and boss at T&T Management & Booking Agency, CEO, Tony Saldano, on to JPM's CD "Decade" as well. Tony Saldano, being the CEO of one of the top named agencies in the music industry that works with ALL THE BEST in the biz, is an even tougher sell than I am, was also impressed and invited Joseph Patrick Moore to take his place amongst the hundreds of great and legendary performers on the roster at T&T Management & Booking Agency. To sum up in short, my personal and professional assessment of Joseph Patrick Moore's musicianship and prowess as a performer, both as an avid music lover and a music industry exec...
