A Doula, according to DONA International “is a woman experienced in childbirth that provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to the mother before, during, and just after childbirth.” As Doulas, we are there for a woman while she is pregnant to offer education and suggestions to help her have the birth experience that she desires. We understand what is going on with the physiological changes that a woman goes through while in labor, and because of this understanding we know how to handle the different emotional issues that face a woman while in labor. We have our own children so we know that this is one of the most emotionally charged experiences that a woman will ever encounter. We want to make sure that it is an experience that you can look back on- and be empowered by! You know.. “I am Woman- Hear me Roar!!” As your Doulas, we expect to provide you the support and education to enable you to come through your child’s birth saying exactly this!
We also offer Childbirth Education Classes.. individually or in a group setting. We want to make sure that you have all of the evidence so that you can truly make informed decisions.
Lactation Consultation is available after childbirth or if you have any questions beforehand.
