GUN DOG TRAINING
In my method of training bird dogs, I begin with the "whoa," and
"heel," command. "Whoa," signals the dog to stop. "Heel,"
will help the dog walk more comfortably on a lead. When I'm
confident that the dog will obey the "whoa" command in the
field, I'll introduce the dog to quail on remote control
release. As the dog learns to point and hold quail in place, the
birds will be planted in the training areas without the remote release.
Every dog responds differently to training, some require more time than others. I'll do my best to "read" how your dog is progressing and make adjustments as needed. There's joy in hunting with a dog as a team, and proper training can accomplish the communication required to be successful in the field.
