This section will include details of membership fees (and increases for those unable to attend AGM's), AGM dates, news of model sales and any other miscellaneous club news.
New members are always welcome at Millom Railway & Scale Modellers and the 2007 membership rates are shown below:
Adult Member Annual Fee £20.00 Clubnight Dues £1.00 per night*
Female Member Annual Fee £10.00 Clubnight Dues £1.00 per night*
Junior Members** Annual Fee Nil Clubnight Dues £0.50 per night*
* Club night dues are only payable when attending. Fees have gone up since the AGM, the first rise since inception of the club. Fees are now Due.
NOTE that visitors are always welcome to attend a reasonable number of times without payment of any membership fees. We especially welcome visitors to the area and the Kettle is always on!
** Please note that we regret that children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian due to legislation and insurance requirements.
The last AGM was held on Tuesday 16th October 2007.
For those members unable to attend the members agreed to hold an exhibition next year if at all possible and Mr. Peter Taylor was voted as new Secretary. Paid up members please note that copies of the non-approved minutes from the AGM may be obtained from the club secretary at any time.
Each year, since it's inception, we have taken part in the Millom & District Heritage Open days in association with Millom & Haverigg Tourist Information Centre. During this period many of the local heritage sites are open and we are open mainly to display our model of Millom Station as it appeared in the 1950's. However, we also run other layouts, make a good cuppa and have succeeded in attracting many visitors during this period, some of whom have left kind remarks in our visitors book.
2007 was a major success and MR&SM attracted over 250 visitors and we only opened for half days. Next year we aim to put on a varied display with new attractions, please come along. The dates will be displayed here soon.
