MILL HILL UNDER 9 RED WIN FORBES TOURNAMENT AT PLEASINGTON

MILL UNDER 9'S RED WON THE FORBES TOURNAMENT AT PLEASINGTON GOING THROUGH THE WHOLE DAY UNDEFEATED CLINCHING THE FINAL OVER CLITHEROE WOLVES.

THE BEST GAME OF THE DAY WAS THRILLING DERBY GAME AGAINST MILL HILL BLUE WHO TOOK A 3 NIL LEAD BUT THE RED TEAM CLAWED THEIR WAY BACK FINISHING WITH 4-4 DRAW.IT LOOKED LIKE THE FINAL WOULD BE AN ALL MILL HILL AFFAIR BUT THE BLUE TEAM LOST OUT TO CLITHEROE WOLVES IN THEIR SEMI FINAL 2-1

MILL HILL UNDER 12'S RED WIN THE FORBES TOURNAMENT AT PLEASINGTON

12 teams entered from across the North West but it was Mill Hill  who came away CHAMPIONS. They won the group stages and remained undefeated scoring 18 goals in the process. They then went on to beat Princess Villa ( Ellesmere Port ) 2-0 in the semi Final. Then a 2-1 win against Moston Brook ( Manchester ) in the final after going a goal behind. Another fantastic performance, to follow on from their success in Leeds , on what turned out to be another long, tiring but successful day for the u12s who will be getting their LFA Cup campaign under way this Sunday 6th September.

 MILL HILL UNDER 12'S RED

UNDER 14'S RED LOSE OUT IN PENALTY SHOOT-OUT IN THE FINAL AT THE FORBES TOURNAMENT

 MILL HILL UNDER 10'S RED

Mill Hill u12's played there first 11-a-side Tournament in Leeds and came away easy CHAMPIONS. Playing 5x20 minute games at the Wortley Tournament. Mill Hill won all 5 games scoring 16 goals and conceding none. This included a 3.0 win against a strong Moston Brook AFC from Manchester and a 6.0 win against the hosts Wortley JFC. An outstanding performance by all the players involved, in what turned out to be a very long but successful day!

The U11s (Sean & Gavin) won The Myerscough College Tournament. After dominating their first group game they lost 1-0. This however was the only goal Mill Hill was to concede on the day. They went on to win the next 5 group games comfortably, as some of our new signings began to gel. Mill Hill then beat Myerscough 3-0 in the semi Final. Then won the final 1-0 against Walton-Le-Dale. The team finished the day scoring 16 goals. Well done to all the lads who were selected, from a very strong u11s squad for the coming season who will back playing in their own age group.

 U/12'S

UNDER 9'S BLUE  PLAYED AT THE MYERSCOUGH TOURNAMENT THERE WERE 14 TEAMS IN TWO DIVISIONS OF 7 TEAMS.THIS WAS A VERY STRONG FIELD OF TEAMS THAT WERE INVITED TO THIS SOCCER DAY. MILL HILL DID US PROUD AGAIN BARING IN MIND THIS WAS ONLY THEIR SECOND COMPETITION.AND NOT A FULL SQUAD DUE HOLIDAYS AND SICKNESS.THE UNDER 9'S BLUE TEAM FINISHED RUNNER UP IN THEIR GROUP AFTER SIX GAMES.THAT IN ITS SELF WAS A GREAT ACHEIVEMENT.THEY LOST IN THE SEMI FINALS 2-0 TO A VERY WELL DRILLED MYERSCOUGH ACADEMY TEAM. BUT THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS GROUP OF PLAYERS IS GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. GAVIN BANKS SAYS HE IS VERY PLEASED WITH ALL THEIR EFFORTS AND A BIG THANKYOU TO ALL THE PARENTS FOR THEIR GREAT SUPPORT. CHEERS GAVIN.

SOCCER PARENT Parents play a crucial part in supporting the involvement of their children with football.

The FA aims to help parents play a positive role, recognising that involement in football can greatly influence the development of children, both in the football envirnment and in their overall lifestyles.
As a result, The FA launched Soccer Parent to work positively with parents, with the intention of raising both standards of behaviour and knowledge, as well as looking to attract new volunteers to the game.
The FA has launched an online version of the programme. Parents, coaches, teachers and young players will find a whole host of interactive information, games, puzzles and downloads aimed at getting the Soccer Parent message across.
The online Soccer Parent course
will explain good practice in a fun and friendly way. But the beauty of the internet and its 24-hour access is that the whole course can be easily completed at any time by anyone who has access to a computer.
Soccer Parent is a completely free online course that is available to anybody that registers with FA Learning – The FA’s Educational Provider. Everyone that completes the course and achieves the pass mark can immediately print off an accredited certificate directly from the website.
All Parents who submit a certificate to the Club will be entitled to a £5.00 deduction on the annual Mill Hill Football Club membership subscription.
