Milinea Wish: The Laboratory

Disclaimer, no, I don't own pokemon or the 6th pokemon movie (I do, but not the rights XD) anyways, here's part one, which I'm writing during Comp Aps, which is why it's such a long time coming. Hope you enjoy, send reviews my way by email: lonewaderer2989@yahoo.com

The green, serene area was no longer as Jirachi looked upon a gray
landscape. The trees had been replaced with huge buildings of a
futuristic look as they were nothing like the sky scrapers of 2004. they
had round domes on top and were held in the air by a small cylender
coming down from the middle of the dome. An elevator appeared to be the
means to access the dome on top.

Everywhere there were cars, more rounded then the type of car Jirachi
had riden in a milinea ago. they traveled along steel roads between
buildings. Moving sidewalks also lined the street edges as well as light
posts that seemed to be just as tall as the buildings themselves.

"Well," Jirachi tried to calm himself, "this is only
Farena, I'm sure other places must have some green, right?" Jirachi
looked to Kipper for some reassurance.

"Believe what you want. the only forested area is this one so that
scientists can study the trees, plus they were unable to destroy it,
some unknown force was protecting it. The only non-city areas are bodies
of water, which is why only water pokemon have survived, that and the
odd types that can survive in the city. Oh, also the ones they have been
experimenting on." Kipper yawned, bored with the precedings.

"You mean, every square inch of this Earth is nothing but
city??" Jirachi, eyes wide with shock, stared at Kipper.

"Yep, they don't have underground cities either, so caves survived,
but most are so over built with cities the entrance is not able to be
found. One big city, that's Earth for you. There used to be nothing but
green, I was told. Can you imagine a world of nothing but green like in
this small area? It's beyond me..." Kipper trailed off.

Jirachi felt tears come to his eyes again. A world where a world of
green was unimaginable to the citizens (he's making a generalization
here), that was a sad world indeed. Jirachi looked at Kipper,
"Surely there is some green left?"

"Beleive what you want." Kipper began to make his way towards
the city, which wasn't far away.

"Why are you going down there?" Jirachi called out.

"I have to find some food, might as well see if they are any scraps
down there. PLEASE don't follow me." with that, Kipper disappeared
in the forest of this milinea, a forest of silver buildings.

"I still have so many questions." Jirachi sighed.
"well," he thought, "I might as well see if there is any
good I can do, after all, I only have a week before I go back to
sleep." Jirachi then headed into the city as well.

Jirachi looked around, the buildings loomed all around him. Jirachi had
never been in a forest quite like this before. He made his way past
buildings, lookin for any trace of green. Maybe there was no green in
this city, but surely there was some green in other places, Kipper
couldn't be completely right.

Jirachi flew for hours, searching and searching, hoping, looking. It was
one big endless forest, and the city lights were blocking the milinium
comet from view, the comet that brought life to Jirachi, as well as a
song.

Jirachi flew, boosting his speed with a speed-x he found on one of the
streets. Jirachi flew high, hoping to see some green in the distance.
All he saw was gray and black, and the sky was now a deep orange, though
it usually was that color because of polution.

Jirachi was tiring from the hours of endless flight. Jirachi used the
last of his strength to teleport himself back to the cave under Farena,
or what had been Farena, and he fell fast asleep, covering himself with
an over-large leaf.

~~~
Kipper shuffled into the place where Jirachi was slumbering, unbeknowest
to Kipper. Kipper was humming and soon his humming turned into full
song.
When daytime turns to night
And the moon is shining so bright
When you're curled up tight
In the moon light
Softly enter that place
Where your dreams run free
Then meet the face
Of who you wish to be
So swim across the ocean flow
Fly a rocket to the stars
You can change your life
In this dull gray world
Take a chance, no need to fear
Life is yours my dear
Take a chance for surely more is soon to come
Jirachi woke with a start. "THAT SONG!!" he shouted.
Kipper nearly jumped out of his skin, his heart was beating extremally
fast. "DON'T DO THAT!! What kind of freak conceals himself...oh,
it's you again."
"That's the song that girl May used to sing for me, but you have
changed some of the words. So you were the one who aroused me from my
milinea slumber," Jirachi smilied, "You have a great singing
voice."
"Another thing, you never heard me sing. Singing isn't exactly a
favoured talent now-a-days."
"Why not?" Jirachi flew next to Kipper. He now had six days
left, but he still wished to learn about the land he had woken up to
find.
"Goverment banned it, go figure. I don't even think Pokemon are
allowed to sing anymore, not that there are many of us left..."
Kipper trailed off.
"What? Why!?"
"With the destruction of the forests, many were destroyed, a few
took refuge in caves and the ocean waters. Some are being experimented
on. Some have taken refuge here in this small patch of forest, for some
reason it couldn't be destroyed." Kipper yawned, heart calming down
now.
"Hmm," Jirachi began to think about reasons, when he noticed
Kipper leaving. "WAIT! Don't go." Jirachi flew after Kipper.
"Look, you said if I showed you the city, you would leave me
alone." Kipper grumbled.
"But you're the friend who woke me, I need you." Jirachi
smiled at Kipper.
"o...k..." Kipper looked at Jirachi with a questionable look
on his face. "Look, what more do you want from me?"
"Can you show me where the pokemon are, or anyplace that could hold
a human that knows about the green world of before?" Jirachi asked
sincerly.
Kipper sighed. "No human remains that would meet the qualities you
are looking for, but I can take you to the lab where they keep the non
cave and ocean survivng pokemon."
Jirachi followed Kipper as he walked out of the cave, the two were
heading for the city. That's when Kipper got knocked over by a running
pink thing. "What the...?" Kipper looked at what had ran into
him.
A pink pokemon with two green leaves coming out of the top of his head
looked up at them. One of the leaves had almost completely been broken
off. The other had a bite missing from it.
"Is that a Hoppip?" Jirachi looked at the cowering pink
creature.
"A what-sit?" Kipper asked.
"Yes, I think that's my name. I just escaped from that lab, do you
guys know of a place for me to hide?" Hoppip looked up at them and
spoke in an extremally soft voice.
"Sure, there's a cave not far from here, I can take you to
it." Jirachi smiled at the Hoppip.
"I guess I'll go to, I've got nothing better to do." Kipper
followed them as they made their way back to the cave.
"What's your name?" Jirachi asked the Hoppip.
"Well, at the lab, everyone called me 234321.kb, but my mother, the
few minutes I knew her, called me Cookie. I guess that's my name."
Cookie looked around as they entered the cave and made their way to the
area where Jirachi had slumbered.
"Here you are, you'll be safe here." Jirachi smiled, Kipper
just looked at Cookie, half interested.
"Thanks." Cookie pulled the leaf Jirachi had used as a blanket
over her and began to sleep.
"Okay, can you show me where that lab is now?" Jirachi asked.
"Sure, right this way." Kipper said, annoyed.
~~~

The city was huge from the level Kipper and Jirachi entered, Jirachi had
flown over the city yesterday, but not at this level. There were
skyscrapers and domed buildings lining a moving sidewalk and the road
was such a shiney crome color that when the sun bounced off of it, it
was almost blinding to look at.

Cars raced by, the chrome seemed to be making them go faster then the
cars that traveled on roads in Jirachi's last awakening. Jirachi looked
up to see a humongous domed building covering a huge patch of land.

"Hmm, that's where that fake Groudon was awakened last
time..." Jirachi mumbled.

"You say something?" Kipper asked Jirachi.

"I was just wondering what that huge domed building is doing
there."

"Oh that, there's a similar one in the pacific ocean, which isn't
to far from here.Magma project I believe is the name for that dome. The
other is the Magma: Aqua project. I don't know what these have to do
with anything, but that's their names." Kipper looked around and
stopped in front of a particularly large building. "Here's the
lab."

It was huge, the building was in the shape of a maracca, with the handle
in the ground which an elevator to get to the main building was located,
and the top was the building, though the top part was more squat and
disc shaped, almost like a UFO.

"So we just enter the elevator to get inside?" Jirachi asked,
pushing the open button and flying inside.

"HEY! Don't go in there, you need a special password to activate
the elevator, and besides, that place is like heck to a pokemon!"
Kipper shouted, running in the elevator after Jirachi, the door closed
behind him.

"What's the password?" Jirachi was floating up by the control
box.

"We shouldn't be in here, now hurry and click the open button so we
can get out of here." Mudkip looked nervously around.

"But what fun is that? What's the passowrd, besides I can't open
the door without it." of this Jirachi wasn't 100% sure, but it
sounded right to him.

"Okay fine, don't ask me how, but I know the password to the lab.
It's 889097684-22B, hurry and type that in so we can get out of..."
the rest of the words were caught in Kipper's throat as the elevator
hurtled upward at a fast pace.

Kipper couldn't stand up as the elevator hurtled upward. Jirachi wasn't
really affected, since he was a hovering being. Just as Kipper managed
to get to his paws, the elevator stopped suddenly, and Kipper was thrown
in the air. Kipper fell on his back, groaning.

"Never again." Kipper glared at Jirachi. "Now let's get
back down before someone catces us..." Kipper noticed Jirachi was
already halfway down the hall they had arrived at. Kipper jumped up, his
back aching, and ran after Jirachi's retreating form.

Kipper managed to catch up with jirachiu, who wasn't going fast because
he was to busy examining things. "I wonder where this hall
leads..." Jirachi began to turn, but Kipper used a water gun on
Jirachi.

"No, we are leaving now. There's a reason that Hoppp was so afraid
when she had come from this lab, this place is a living heck, we can't
be seen, now lets go before someone or something catches us."

Jirachi heard a noise, approaching footsteps, and entered the door,
Kipper was glued to the spot, his heart beating hard. Jirachi motioned
for him to follow, but Kipper didn't see, his eyes were glued to the end
of the hallway, where an approaching figure had just come form.

"Well, well, if it isn't that Mudkip, I can still see those numbers
engraved in your head fin." the man said, though the meaning was
lost to Kipper as he didn't understand human. Jirachi, on the other
hand, did.

"Kipper's been here before..." Jirachi thought, the man
reached down to grab Kipper by the head fin, when Jirachi flew out and
used Flash to tempoirarily blind the man. Jirachi then used teleport to
teleport them back to the cave loacted in Farena, or what was left of
Farena.

In the lab, the man smiled and held up a walkie-talkie to his mouth.
"You were right, Jirachi's nap was coming to an end." here he
paused as the man on the other end began to talk. "Yes, his friend
is an old escapee of ours, that Mudkip, 298900AC." a pause as the
other end responded. "Yes, now that he's awake, the border around
Farena will be gone, we can go harvest the rubies and sapphires now for
projects Magma and Magma: Aqua." pause "Right away sir."

~~~
Jirachi and Kipper landed on the cave floor where Cookie was still
sleeping. Jirachi looked at Kipper, who had began to stir from his
scare. He looked up at Jirachi and turned away. Jirachi sat quietly,
Kipper just stared off in the distance.
"Now you know that I am a lab escapee, similar to Cookie here. But
they didn't have time to do any experiments on me, other than one."
Kipper turned away.
"Which was it, if I may ask?" Jirachi floated over to Kipper.
"That you may not ask, just know that you don't want to be friends
with me because of this." Kipper turned and walked down a differant
path in the cave. Jirachi decided he needed some alone time.
Also, now that Jirachi had been in the lab, Jirachi could teleport there
whenever he wished. Maybe now would be a good time, while Kipper was
lost in his thoughts and Cookie was asleep. Jirachi began to glow a soft
yellow color as he prepaired to teleport to the entrance of the lab.
~~~

Once Jirachi had arrived in the lab, he looked around. The halls were
empty and there was a dull hum coming from one of the airconditioning
vents. With the exception of the hum, the room was completely silent,
the kind of silence that presses in on your ears and gives you uneasy
feelings.

Jirachi wasn't sure what he was going to look for, but he may as well
explore. Jirachi flew down hall after hall, there were so many doors and
subhalls, he wasn't sure how anyone could find their way through this
building.

Jirachi looked out of one of the windows and noticed he was a long ways
off of the ground. Anyone who tried to escape out of the windows would
surely meet death upon the pavement below. Jirachi shuddered, wondering
just how Kipper escaped. Cookie may have taken the window route, but she
was able to float softly to the bottom, unlike what Kipper could have
done.

Jirachi heard voices coming from a room nearby. The door wasn't shut all
the way, which Jirachi found odd. Jirachi placed a careful eye and ear
upon that small crack in the door and peered inside.

Inside was a large meeting room, the walls were made of the gem, Amber.
Some men were talking, which Jirachi was able to understand.
"Fellows, we have been able to revive the Team Magma that once was!
A long time ago, we've learned by the history of the Earth, a great
beast was brought forth in Farena. However, this beast was a fake."
here several people began mumbling to each other until the main man held
up his hands to silence the crowd.

"That being was a fake Groudon, powerful and untameable, it could
have accomplished more then the real Groudon. This is where we come in,
instead of just one Groudon, why not also bring forth a fake Kyogre as
well. This pokemon are far superier to the originals and can help us
accomplish our goals. We could eliminate the inferier leaving only the
strong to reign." the crowd cheered. The man on the podium smiled
and continued.

"Also, we could use this technology to create other beings so that
what was once thought to be fake, with the real pokemon eliminated,
could reign as real. This, however, can not be accomplished untill we
are able to mine the rubies and Sapphires from Farena's cave. That place
had been protected by some mysterious...slumbering force untill now.
Jirachi has awakened." Here people laughed and several menacing
statements were heard.

Jirachi jumped, looking around. "They're talking about me." he
placed himself back to where he could peer through the crack.

"Jirachi has been sighted in this lab once today, no doubt he will
come back, in fact he could be here now. (Jirachi felt his heart lurch)
We also need Jirachi's power to help bring forth the two great fakes.
This task won't be easy, but I do have a plan. If those who aren't
involved strictly in the plan will leave for the next two hours."
the man announced. The footprints of a stampede of men were heard as
they approached the doors. Paniced, Jirachi quickly teleported away from
the nightmare lab.

~~~
Jirachi arrived back in Farena cave, wary from all that he had heard.
Jirachi rested quietly upon the rock he had slumbered on...for about
thirty seconds. Cookie came bouncing by, floating in the air. A breeze
blew through the cave, interupting her flight pattern and slamming her
into a cave wall.
Kipper came running over to her, shaking his head annoyedly. "You
just don't know when to quit do you? You have to wait for your leaves to
grow back or you won't be able to fight the wind." Cookie looked up
at Mudkip and blinked. "Oh, and looks who's back." Kipper
glanced up at Jirachi.
"It's only evening, but I have a lot to think about, I'm
exhausted." Jirachi rolled down, looking at the orange and red sky
where the sun was slowly setting.
"Yeah, it's getting late. Cookie here is insane though, I think she
was thrown out instead of just escaping." Kipper winked to show he
was playing around. "I hope you have a nice rest."
Jirachi nodded, smiling as Kipper took Cookie to another area of the
cave. Jirachi closed his eyes and wrapped a leaf around himself. Getting
comfortable, he prepaired for a long sleep of question filled dreams,
and the all consuming dream and sorrow of Max being gone forever.
