Miley Ray Cyrus

On November 23, 1992, Destiny Hope Cyrus was born to Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus. Miley always had a passion for performing. She would hop on stage with her father, famous country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, and perform “Hound Dog” by Elvis Presley and other songs. She always smiled as a child, so Billy Ray gave her the nickname Smiley. When she got older, she dropped the s, and she was now known as Miley.
Miley’s first acting job was a guest appearance in Billy Ray’s show, Doc, as Kylie in 2003. Later that year, she could be seen on the big screen as Ruthie in Big Fish. Three years later, at eleven years old, she auditioned for Hannah Montana. She was too young and too small for the part at the time. She kept asking for more second chances and more audtions, and finally, after two years of fighting, she earned the role of Miley Stewart on Disney Channel’s hit sitcom.
Popularity for Miley came with the success of Hannah Montana. It is the second most popular television show among tweens (American Idol coming in first). The show’s soundtrack made it onto the Billboards chart and stayed at number one for two weeks in a row.
So what can we see in the future from this very talented girl? She has a small cameo role in the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie, High School Musical 2. She will also be starring in a remake of the 1989 film, Adventures in Babysitting, with Raven-Symone, and Miley’s Hannah Montana co-star, Mitchel Musso, has announced that there will be a Hannah Montana movie.
