Seeds I Am Looking For

The list is long, and most are probably a little obscure.
I have seed for and have grown many of the common varieties
of most vegetables and now I want to start growing some
of the lesser known ones as well as some of the varieties
that are being brought to our country from all over the globe.
If you happen to have any of them I would certainly be willing
to make trading a worthwhile endeavor for you.

I might also be interested in something that is not listed
here, anything different or unusual interests me.

After getting the new catalogs I have added many new seeds
to my list that are not that common at this point.
Most of them will be hard to find unless I order from a long
list of seed companies, but it never hurts to ask.

How I Trade

PLEASE READ!

The following are pretty much guidelines that I go by
when trading. I have learned from past experience that it
is sometimes best to at least have an understanding about how
things are expected to work. If you feel that you cannot go along
with these guidelines please let me know.
I'm sure that we can work something out, I try to be as
flexible as I possibly can.

Padded Envelopes Must Be Used. This is the one point that I will not bend on.
It is true that most seeds will survive a trip through the postal service in a
regular envelope. When I started trading seeds I thought it was silly when
people would require that their seeds be sent in bubble envelopes, but it
didn't take long to change my mind. I primarily trade Tomato and flower
seeds and even they can be mashed to dust when they pass through the
automated machinery the USPS uses. Using bubble envelopes is really
not that expensive, especially if you re-use old ones.

I Do Not Re-Trade Seeds. All seeds on my list were grown, collected or
purchased by me, I expect the same in return. I do not want seeds that
have been traded before, I have found that this can sometimes result in
old seeds or seeds that have been mislabeled. I have made exceeption to
this in the past when someone has written to me looking for something
that is hard to find, but I let them know the source of the seeds before
                                       we agreed to trade.

Seeds should be sent in a reasonable, timely manner. I will normally have my
part of the trade in the mail within three days, sometimes a little longer
when I simply do not have time to be as prompt as I prefer. I know that
everyone is busy and I understand that unexpected things have a habit of
popping up from time to time. If something happens and you cannot get
your end of the trade mailed within 4 or 5 days, just let me know.

The number of seeds should be equal and/or reasonable. When trading Tomato or
Pepper seeds I normally send 20 to 25. I normally start 10 or 12 seeds
in hopes of getting 5 or 6 good plants, and if something happens to my
seedlings I have enough to try again. When trading very small seeds such
as Foxglove or Petunia I might throw in a few more, but I see no reason
send someone 500 seeds simply because they are small

I try to send emails to confirm that your seeds arrived. But sometimes I simply do
not like to take the time to track down an email address. My rule of thumb
is that if I do not receive your seeds I will let you know, and I figure that
                                      you will do the same.

I will replace seeds. If something happens and the seeds I send do not arrive just
let me know, I will be happy to send more as long as I have them. The
same applies if you are not happy with them, I would appreciate the same
                                      considerations if possible.

I try to keep my list current. I do this as a hobby, not a business, so it is possible
that I might not have a variety that my list says I do. If this happens, I will
let you know as soon as I possibly can, hopefully before we agree to trade.
