Krieg comes from a ruthless race of people. Their main way of survival is raiding any and every place where supplies can be found, whether it be a harmless Matoran village or another raiding party from a different tribe camping out for the night, his people strike without warning, claiming pieces of the armor from the ones they have slain and donning it as their own. Krieg came from one such raiding tribe, however, they were caught off guard one night by another party from the north, their numbers had almost doubled after the quiet winter, making the odds near impossible for Krieg's tribe to survive the raid intact. Krieg, still young, was hurried away by the female in charge of his caretaking. She was ambushed by another tribe as she ran from the devestation behind her. The raiding leader from the third tribe in the fray was prepared to slay the female, and then the baby, but, by some chance of fate, an earthquake through him off balance, and Krieg stumbled over a cliff. Landing in the water he almost drowned, giving up hope, the young raider let himself be taken by the rushing rapids of the unforgiving stream. That's where Vezon came in, the current Dark Hunter was on assignment, looking for a horde of treasure from one of the tribes when he spied an almost drowned youngling from the land's native people. Vezon helped it out of the water, not showing any compassion, only interest as to what he could pry out of the being. Vezon later recieved word from The Shadowed One to return to the Dark Hunter stronghold, the quarells were growing on the land, and no treasure was worth the number of lives that would have to be sacrificed to get it. Vezon brought Krieg back in secret, and showed the young and confused raider to his leader. The Shadowed One accepted the new trainee for what he was, an orphan, an untapped potential that could be used to the organization's advantage. So Krieg began his training, at an unusually young age, elders, like the dumb Krekka, liked to push the kid around, but he never gave up, by the time he could fight back, he far outranked Krekka in many respects. Continuing his legacy in a chain of solo missions, he found himself in a Matoran village, seeking their leader for information on the whereabouts of the local Toa of Vacuum. That's when he heard the sound, it was familiar, the sound of having lost everything, the sound of a pitiful creature. Krieg ducked down through the brush to find a dead tiger Rahi, a mother, she had been stung to death by a swarm of Nui Rama, but they had spared the cub. The cub quickly became attached to Krieg and would not stop following him around. Krieg had to scrub his mission and return to head quarters with the tiger cub in tow. The Shadowed One had rarely seen such a specimen, and recommended that it be trained in the ways of Dark Hunter mounts, and then it was to be paired with Krieg, they were, afterall, both orphans. So training began and end, and their new legacy started, seeking out the most worthy of foes, and to the victor goes the spoils, the combination of the tiger Rahi dubbed Blitz, and the orphan raider called Krieg made for a fearful combination that has yet to fail in the field. A water elemental with powers comparable to that of a Toa. Poseidon however, has been seen doing things with water that no water Toa has ever accomplished. Its almost like he puts a little bit of his conscious into the water, giving it an almost sentient appearance in the things it can perform, accurately filling up a Matoran’s lungs with only the required amount, letting it slither in like in small veins, to quick for the Matoran to stop it. Poseidon is paired with tactically thinking Redeemer, aside from the team of Ancient and Voporak, their team is also charged with bringing in the Vahi. A deep thinker, Poseidon questions Redeemers antics, with the thoughts of slaying the team accompanying them, Krieg and his tiger Blitz, he might end up having to take on the dreaded Voporak. Redeemer is still confident the two can get away with it, then again, he has never been wrong or lied to Poseidon before, so why would he now. But the mask of time is also attracting other parties to the fray, something Redeemer hasn’t calculated on.(Storyline (C) Ithilin)
Redeemer is the Dark Hunter paired with the water elemental Poseidon. Most people commonly stereotype him as a dumb brute due to his size. But its just the opposite, while larger than other Hunters in size, Redeemer is one who observes before he takes on a task, rather than rushing into conflict like a battle hungry fool. Redeemer looks over every angle of his opponent or the situation, using his eleven eyes, he determines the flaws, and the strengths in anything. Contrary to popular belief, this Dark Hunter is especially quick, instead of being a lumbering beast ready to break his opponent in two, he sprints into the battlefield, with his goal in site, he quickly defeats his opponents with a series of one fisted attacks, hitting their weakest points and sending them into submission. On his most recent assignment, Redeemer and his teammate have been sent to the now reinhabited Metru Nui to retrieve a certain Mask of Time. Also paired with their team is another duo, known as Blitzkrieg. Redeemer knows how much this mask will be worth to The Shadowed One. His plan is once the mask is in his possession, he and Poseidon will turn on the other team, slaying the Rahi Blitz and leaving Krieg pummeled into the broken city. But Redeemer has failed to analyze one other crucial point, there are other factions besides the Dark Hunters after the Mask of Time, and messing with the as of yet undefeated Krieg could be his undoing.
He was once a normal being. He was once your average Brotherhood agent. He was once whole. Kranais used to be many things, but now he is constantly filled with a sense of…emptiness, lacking. Like a disease, eating away from him on the inside, a blight whose persecution he is unable to escape. After a horrible reckoning at the hands of a being whose name and allegiance has escaped him, he was left mangled. But Kranais endured, and made the journey back to his quarters in a Brotherhood fortress. It was unlike anything most of the other present agents had even seen before, that’s not to say some particularly devious ones hadn’t dreamed about it themselves. A being that was so badly ravaged, stalking the hallways like it was a routine ordinance. Ordered to receive medical treatment immediately, Kranais resisted. Striking down a many a agent, the pain had become one with him. Its ravenous nature swelling inside him like a raging inferno, forcing him to act against his own will, and sheerly out of instinct. He was finally subdued, and taken in for surgery. A long, grueling, and sickening experiment went on behind the heavy dungeon doors. As Brotherhood biologists chained Kranais to a wall, while stripping him layer by layer, searching for what made him tick, and replacing all missing components with an intricate set of mechanical replacements. Awakening halfway through the ordeal, some say they can still hear his blood curdling screams in that dungeon. When they were done, Kranais was no longer the sleek and elegantly constructed being he used to be. He was now a work of mad science gone horridly wrong, pumps, pistons, and tubes shooting in and out of his body like maggots feasting on his once dead flesh. But the pain was still there, a nagging demon in the back of his mind, forcing him to endure more than most beings have ever dreamt of. Kranais lost a part of himself during that operation, he was no longer the old agent he used to be, he had changed dramatically. He is currently creeping through the archive system of Metru Nui, edging ever closer to retrieving the Mask of Time that Turaga Vakama guards inside the coliseum. Kranais has plans of his own for the Vahi, hoping to turn back time and kill the being that ruined his life. Maybe then, he can find peace, and fill his emptiness with some meaning.
Pirakuta, brought into existence by freak accident, or by mad experiment? Neither are uncommon when it comes to the Brotherhood of Makuta. Pirakuta, was, at one point, Makuta, part of him at least. Something happened during what is assumed to have been a routine experiment, resulting in Makuta being severly weakened for a couple of days, one thing serving Matoran do remember is the part of Makuta's essence that still lingered after the master of shadows was removed from the situation. The mass of shadow was able to be contained for some time, but it was never properly studied. While Makuta was still recovering, the stronger Makuta became, the stronger the shadowy mass became, some thought that once released it would return to Makuta, and might even bring him back to full strength. The mass was released, and it attacked everything living in the room, strangaling them to death, it then made its way to a store of energized protodermis. Thus creating the dark being Pirakuta, the shadow energy, combined with energized protodermis resulted in a being not much different than Makuta. As soon as the new born being was making his way down a hallway in the fortress, non other than Makuta blocked his exit. The two fought their way into an arena like room, their dark dance of combat seeming to go on forever. But Pirakuta had the upper hand, and struck Makuta down with one fell swoop. Makuta was pleased with his 'brother's' newfound power, and offered him a position. Pirakuta quickly declined the offer and left the fortress, unchallenged. Pirakuta has since wandered the many lands, but he has always had a connection with his brother, feeling his strongest emotions, pain, anger, and his evil satisfaction when he successfully toppled the city of Metru Nui. He knows his brother is still out there somewhere, horribly wounded, but alive. Pirakuta himself has been building an army, so far, kidnapping three disabled warriors from the same race as the Piraka gang on Voya Nui, and with the use of his shadow powers and a newly discovered source of energized protodermis he is creating the ultimate army. The Pirahkshi.
Pirakshi Knights:
One of the 'second batch' Pirahkshi, Pirakuta had the practice almost perfected by the time he got to 'fixing' this fifth Pirahkshi. Just like his brothers, Avrahk was injured in a massive battle that took place on their disruptive homeland. Needless to say, he was not known for his valor, or intelligence, or even his strength. What Avrahk was known for in his life before he was transformed into a Pirahkshi through the powers of his master Pirakuta, was, for lack of a better term, ?the idiot of the bunch?. In his old life Avrahk would rush into battle, without caution or heed, when his leader forewarned that Avrahk should stay behind on the next battle, he completely disregarded his superior?s warnings. As a result, he fell right into his enemies? trap, ambushed and severly outnumbered, Avrahk fought with his usual crazy attitude, but in the end he was no match. His body bent, broken, twisted and mangled, his spine ripped from his arms, he lay motionless in enemy territory, all presumed him dead. Until Pirakuta showed up, the ?brother? of Makuta, and similar to the Master of Shadows in many respects, he claimed Avrahk's limp body as his own, and quickly took the broken warrior to his hidden lair. After his augmentation, Avrahk arose with newfound power, disruptor shields mounted in his shoulders granted him the ability to create fields of molecular disruption, turning rock into dust and back again, randomizing the laws of physics on anything inorganic it touched. However, like the rest of the Pirahkshi, Avrahk did suffer a side effect, unlike his unquestionably loyal and serious brothers; he still lacks the seriousness factor. The most laid back of the sextuplet of knights, he fights with a certain sense of casualness, often causing his foes to underestimate him. Avrahk is currently on a crusade for his master, representing the Kingdom of Pirakuta in full force, he is just one of the many beings after the Kanohi Vahi upon its return to the desolated city of Metru Nui.
Probably the most affected by his transformation out of all the Pirahkshi, Guuvok has gone from mellow warrior, to crippled near dead body, to an insane, almost uncontrollable and unpredictable Pirahkshi. Guuvok dons more mechanical parts than any of his fellow Knights, as large amounts of rotting tissue had to be removed when Pirakuta set out to repair the navy armored soldier. But, even after attempting the process of conversion on others of Guuvok?s species, Pirakuta still had not perfected his treatment. While trying to avoid other mishaps, like Hanrahk's bad temper and Vodak's lack of speech, the surgery turned for the worse and Guuvok was never the same. Possessing powerful berserker claws and the power of limited invulnerability, Guuvok would've made an excellent knight.
Hanrahk was one of the first three to be treated by Pirakuta, unwillingly, but they were all paralyzed, or otherwise immobile in some way, and could not resist their captor, and eventual savior and master. Hanrahk was once a master with fire based traps. Often trapping his enemies in a cage of fire that they themselves walked right into, unbeknownst to them, the pyro Hanrahk had laid another one of his deadly traps. But one day his enemies got the best of him. Opening up a dam of stored water, they destroyed his uniquely laid fire mines, and almost drowned him. But when they found what was left of him after they had flooded the battlefield they didn?t even want to bother with what they thought was a corpse. Hanrahk though, like so many others was mistaken for dead, and slowly dieing, a very painful death at that. For what seemed like an eternity the lone pyrotechnic lay strewn across some rocks on the edge of the newly formed riverbed. It was then that Pirakuta arrived and scooped up the broken soul. Taking him back to his hidden lair and transforming him into a much more powerful being. Now, armed with a powerful flamethrower and the Kraata ability of Heat Resistance, Hanrahk has sworn his allegiance to the one who saved him and become one of his six Pirahkshi knights. Bent on carrying out Pirakuta?s will, no matter the cost, even if it his life, or that of a comrade.
Nakiran was an interesting specimen. A female of the islands native species, she had been caught in the crossfire trying to flee. Being wounded and buried beneath the rubble. Sensing power and a will to live, Pirakuta dug out the rubble to find the ninth body he had collected so far. Still alive, but barely, she was sinking into heavy convulsions. Like the seventh and eighth Pirahkshi, her existence was kept secret to the original six. She was originally meant to be a backup when Guuvok ultimately died from insanity. But, she proved to powerful, mixing not one, but three Kraata breeds in her restoration, she was given control over plants, rahi and insects, making her to difficult to deal with in the end. Her powers had grown beyond originally predicted, and she used them at her faintest whimsy, willing the living things of the island to do her bidding. Soon she rebelled against Pirakuta, forcing him to cram her into a shadow cell. Now she has escaped, wielding her staff of life control she sets out to get revenge on her creator, and rule the world.
Ronahk was the seventh Pirakshi, but only because he got out of surgery one minute before his brother, and partner Zovok, the eighth Pirahkshi. Ronahk he had the elemental power of fire, and worked in tandem with Zovok and his earthen powers. They were the most graceful on the field, and one of the few pairs who had been able to master their elemental powers during the civil wars. Encasing their enemies in hot coals, and then filling up their cages with searing magma, they were connoisseurs of pain. But it was not to be, they were caught off guard by one of their enemies, trapped and separated. With no tools besides their powers they were helpless. The savage leader that had ordered their capture had lost his brother, a stone elemental, to the pair and ordered them to have their skulls bashed in. They were taken to sacrificial boulder, barely alive, and had their heads slammed repeatedly into the dense rock. Their executioners were called away early, as another group was trying to take their fort. The two were alive, but they would soon die. That was when a shadow came and blackened everything, welcoming them with its wispy embrace. It was Pirakuta, the shadow spawn who had already converted six of their island into his knights, the Pirakshi. But, Pirakuta needed two loyal guardians to watch over his outpost on their homeland, so Ronahk and Zovok would have to suffice. Both of their heads had suffered massive trauma, and they would die soon if not attended to. So Pirakuta set to work, Zovok’s head was completely removed, what was left of his consciousness was placed into a mechanical memory crystal, as his real head was beyond repair. Zovok was heavily augmented with mechanical enhancements, by the time his repairs were over; he was more than two thirds machine, his head no longer even resembling that of his own species. Ronahk’s head too presented a problem, for all he had was a polished skull, and no eyes. Pirakuta constructed a helmet that wired straight into his new knight’s brain, giving him the ability to see through echolocation. Both were left on their homeland to not only guard over Pirakuta’s base, but to also guard the final, ninth Pirakshi, Nakiran. Zovok wields the Kraata power of hunger, and can suck the life force out of anything that comes his way with his absorber claws. Ronahk wields duel long swords with blades made of fire that can only be ignited by his mental command, they’re the closest thing he has to his old elemental powers. Instead of fire though, he now commands the Kraata power of darkness, and can shadow even the flame of his blades to his enemies. These two are a force to be reckoned with, and are even considered more dangerous than the original six Pirahkshi.
He used to be one of the craftiest assasins on his homeland. Ever since the civil wars broke out, Thorak was no more than a fighter for hire. Constantly being given jobs from one faction or the other to kill off their leaders he was in the clear, with all the pay he was receiving he would never have to work again. That would be his own downfall. Getting less in tune with the assassinations and more in tune with the money, Thorak began to loose his edge, and was eventually captured, and hurled off a cliff into a river, never to be heard from again, or so they thought. Thorak returned the next day with a vengeance, slaying the entire mini-tribe that had tried to take him out, nobody was safe. He had returned, but when it was all over something had happened to him…he realized that he wasn’t as invincible as he had thought. His body was covered with battle wounds. He fell to the ground, reething in the sudden overflow of pain. But he did not die, instead he crawled, and crawled, not giving up, trying to make it back to his home. That’s when Pirakuta found him, taking him against his will, Thorak was put under the same surgery as the rest of the Pirahkshi that came before him, destroying who he was, rebuilding him part by part. When Thorak emerged, he was no longer an assassin, but an honorable knight, meant to serve his King, savior, and master, Pirakuta. Like all the Pirahkshi he too suffered from a notable sideeffect. Large parts of his body had now become bioluminescent, even when covered up by armor, the strange glow would grow over the shelling like an algae, making Thorak very hard to use on stealth missions, alienating his skill as an unnoticeable assassin. He can channel chain lightning through his claws and all other parts of his body, still making him a very formidable opponent on the battlefield, and a Pirahkshi to watch out for.
Once the strongest warrior on the battlefield, Vodak was a sight to behold. The hero of a powerful clan on his war torn island, Vodak was their secret weapon. Going onto the battlefield, donning a very weak suit of armor, he relied only upon his immense strength. Honing all his energy into muscles Vodak would go to work with extreme precision. As mobs of enemy fighters charged him, bodies would begin to fly. Ultimatley, Vodak had killed more than he liked to count, and injured far more. Always quiet, sticking to a strict do not speak unless there is anything worthwhile to speak of philosophy Vodak never talked much to his comrades, or anybody for that matter. In the end his downfall did not come from an overcocky defeat, or even a trap, rather from natural disaster. A bioquack struck his encampment, his entire platoon delved into a deep crevice. Vodak grabbed onto the craggy walls, caking his hands with severe burns, all the while watching as his friends and fellow tribesmen try to climb out of the crevice, only to meet their doom in the lava below, unable to withstand the heat of the walls. Vodak was not crippled or comatized like the other Pirahkshi were. No, Vodak was fully awake during his time of peril, and fully aware of the pain. Pirakuta rescued the burned brute and rebuilt his hands, and almost everything else in his body, resulting in the third Pirahkshi. However, Vodak’s ability to speak once forever lost during the operation, just another unfortunate side effect of Pirakuta’s alterations to convert people into his followers. His fists are armored with thick metal plating, and he has the ability to use the Kraata power of limited invulnerability, he is ready to carry out his savior’s will, even if it means his own death.
Cold, calculating, meticulous, and filled with an immense sense of loyalty to his master and ?creator?; Pirakuta. Zanrahk, like the other six Pirahkshi, hails from the same island Reidak does, where a simple dispute between the now rogue Dark Hunter and another of their species resulted in all out chaos, pitting hundreds of their kind into a brutal and violent series of skirmishes, riots, and civil wars. Zanrahk was once an honored warrior, highly intelligent for his species, he was always organizing counter measures against his enemies. But, like so many others, Zanrahk was injured in the crossfire, paralyzing himself, the feared tactician was now no more than a withering husk, left behind on the battlefield by his own people all seemed lost. Then the feared spawn Pirakuta arrived on the island, establishing a secret underground base of operations Pirakuta used a combination of his shadow energy, selective breeds of Kraata and mechanical engineering to bring back Zanrahk. Forgetting his old name and all that he stood for, he assumed the role leader of the Pirahkshi, the knights of their savior and master, Pirakuta. In the end, the Pirahkshi had no choice but to pledge his life to Pirakuta, for he, his ?brothers?, had been brainwashed to the point where he could care less about anything but what his King demanded. Equipped with two duel edged staffs and new found psychic abilities (thanks to the power of an involuntary Mind Reading Kraata) Zanrahk is now leading his five brothers on a new crusade in the recently reinhabited metropolis of Metru Nui. His goal, the Kanohi Vahi, and to ultimately claim the city in the name of the Kingdom of Pirakuta, establishing it as a forefront for the ever growing and expanding legion of converts and other loyal followers that were saved by Pirakuta?s dark hand.
(see Ronahk)

The Schizosaur. The creature strikes fear into those who have gazed upon its ghastly majesty. While technically a Rahi by Matoran standards, the creature itself is said to have some "other wordly" powers. It is a force to be reckoned with, while an attack upon a Matoran has never been recorded in any chronicle, the Schizosaur is more of a legend, at least, that's the way it was for a long time. The Schizosaur is a harbringer of chaos and destruction, if it is present, the something wicked will happen to the land upon which it stands, or the water in which it swims. As more and more claims of seeing the deadly beast come in to the seven Turaga on Metru Nui, they can no longer hide that something bad is about to happen. Schizosaur is quick both in land in the water, moving swiftly, once its presence is known it dissappears before anybody can capture or track it, not that any normal Matoran would. From what evidence that is present to support the actual existence of the beast, it is no natural creature. Its orange eyes carry a certain tint in them, a tint of darkness and dispare, perhaps it was once a normal Rahi, or several different Rahi at one time, but something happened to it, more faithful Matoran say it is the will of the Great Beings themselves that this creature has been brought into existence. But the Turaga know the truth, this creature is one of the many experiments conducted at some time by Makuta, whether in one of his underground layers in Mata Nui before the great escape, or back when the Makuta was still residing with the confines of the Brotherhood of Makuta fortress. Schizosaur appears to be the only one of its kind, though its appearances are becoming more and more common throughout the newly rebuilt city. Its whip like tail has been said to have the strength to take down even the hardest of materials. Its right arm seems to have been modified in a way, resulting in a vestigial, mechanical ended limb. The mechanical end looks like some sort of projectile or energy shooting mechanism, Matoran speculate that the creature either cannot use it, or does not wish to use it, perhaps for fear of the devestation it could bring with its true power. Whatever the Schizosaur is, it is powerful, and elusive, any Matoran interested in going after the beast should probably rethink how much life matters to him, but in these dark times, some can be desperate, and will try their luck with this Rahi.
A matoran of lower standards, Brandr is known for his love of all things natural and mysterious. And considering present circumstances, he must not be to happy of a Matoran, trapped in the drudge of the decimated Metru Nui with all the rest of his matoran brethren, he utterly despises the metropolis in all its shattered glory. While a lot of Rahi still run wild on the ruined landscape, one has caught his eye. A legendary beast known as the Schizosaur, no Matoran has ever been able to get a solid look at it, let alone catch it. But after seeing the ominous beast in its powerful form, standing above him during the chaos of the storms, Brandr knew what he had to do. Or rather, what he wanted to do. He gave chase to beast, something no other Matoran dared to do, as it was seen as a sign of impending doom upon their people. Brandr thinks otherwise, and thus far, has been able to track the Rahi across the city. The Turaga would be worried, but they have more pressing matters to attend to in such dark times. So far now, Brandr is missing from his post in Onu-Metru, no longer helping to restore the archives he worked in thousands of years ago. Instead, he is off on a wild Rahi chase that could be his undoing.
