MICHAEL ANTHONY MONAHAN
July 26, 1929 - October 30, 2006
This page is dedicated to the fond memory of Mike Monahan, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend. An Actor and Director, Mike's life revolved around Acting in Television and Directing/Writing/Acting for Live Theater. Mike and Ann Monahan forged a marriage and a creative alliance that is the foundation of several theater groups, starting with the inagural Horizon Players in Simi Valley, California.

Their highly successful dinner theater, The Showboat Dinner Theatre eventually evolved into The Showboat Youtheatre, one of the earliest musical youth theater groups to be established in Southern California. Forging their skills as Writer/Producer/Director, they developed a short-term musical theater intensive training for young actors which provides the complete experience of a real life stage venue, from Audition to Performance, for young talent. Through their partnership, The Showboat Youtheatre created a thriving legacy of seasoned guidance, direction and encouragement for young actors and their families. Ann wants everyone to know that the Showboat Youtheatre will continue to thrive. She encourages their current and former students to contribute their memories of Mike to this site.
Mike passed on Monday, October 30, 2006 surrounded by his family at his home in Calabasas, California.
He wanted everyone to know, "It has truly been a wonderful life."
