To complete this mod, you will need:
1- An optical mouse
2- A screwdriver
3- A 5mm blue LED (you can use green but make sure you use a bright/super bright one otherwise it may not work)
4- A soldering iron and a bit of solder
What to do
This mod has to be one of the simplest, 1st take
off the cover of your mouse (there may be screws under labels/stickers)
next, you need to locate the red LED and de-solder it (heat up the
solder whilst pulling the LED make sure you note which is negative, the
negative side of the LED has a flat edge in the "ledge" at the bottom of
the plastic part)
after that, solder the blue or green LED in place (making sure it is the
right way, remember that positive is the longer leg and negative has a
flat "ledge") all you need to do now is put the cover back
on and you're done!
