Hello & Welcome to my site.
My Name is Brittany Hendrick. I’ve been into photography for quite a long time, however just recently in (2006) I realized that it was something I am passionate for, and would like to start a career in. I think I realized how much I was into Photography when I was eleven. My parents had recently bought me a camera, NOT digital, yes, that’s right, you had to take the film to get developed. Haha, anyway, they bought me this camera for Christmas, and I can remember being thrilled and I ran to my bedroom and started snapping pictures, they weren’t anything amazing, at all! I had set up a piece of paper, a feather in a ink bottle, and a candle, on my wooden toy-box. Not the most amazing thing to take a picture of, but then I got even more creative, my parents started talking about how we needed to take our school pictures but we didn’t know where to go, being home-school, we didn’t get a photographer at a school to take our picture and put it into a year book. Nope, we had to either go to Battle Creek in the mall at the Sears photography center. Well, since that closed down, I wanted to see if I could take pictures of people, so I put a blanket over some really tall chairs and asked my little brother to be my model, I snapped a few, waited a couple weeks, and got the pictures back, they too weren’t anything amazing, but still I wanted to do more.
Just in 2007 my parents purchased a HP Photosmart M425 digital camera, with 5.0 megapixels, and 3x optical zoom. After my father stopped playing with it, and went to bed, finally I got to play with it. I was so excited! Taking some pictures la la la. So then I loaded the pictures on the camera and figured out there are different settings and all this kind of things. And I got even more excited, I played with the Marco, Fast shot, etc, everything was amazing! And then I put some of the random pictures I took on this site called Myspace, after that I got comments from people saying I should think about going into photography or asking if I was. Then my family and relatives after seeing me upload some more photos, came over to me and mentioned that they were quite good, and my mother said I have an eye for Photography. Which meant a lot, and I started thinking, I really enjoy taking photographs.
Before all of that however, my family got this program in 2005, it was called. Photoimpression 4 by AcrSoft. Many other programs came with this, but this one I loved. I would upload a picture I took earlier that day and play around with it, and just have fun. But then I was thought, I really want to start doing something with this. After a while I looked into more photography editing programs, and I loved it! Soon after that we got our digital camera, and I uploaded those pictures in there. It was just a past time, but it developed into something more, I wanted to do more. So I decided, that I wanted to actually do this.
In the year of 2006 my older Brother graduated and we went to one of the Photographers in town I watched the Photographer talk to Justin, making Justin feel more comfortable and then also realizing what Justin was into. Like, his guitar, and his wallet chains, chucks, etc. I took in how he posed Justin and/or angiled the camera. So with that I started taking pictures of friends, family, myself just doing normal or enjoyed activities, and finally I realized. I want to do this.
So my best friend, decided she didn’t want to spend three hundred to five hundred dollars for her senior photos, but also understanding it’s a one time of your life kinda of thing. She then asked me if I would do her senior photos, and with that I was thrilled! I told her of course! And I snapped away. Shortly after that my other friend, who is no on his way to be a singer/song writer, asked me if I would take his picture for his website and possibly his cd booklet that will soon be released. Of course again I was thrilled and gladly said of course! However, with the excitement also came nerves! Because with taking his pictures this could mean, that since he is getting his name out there, so will my Photography. So I wanted them to be amazing. Which he said that they turned out amazing and he loved them. I not only took the pictures but I also edited them.
Soon after that I and my boyfriend Brent, who also liked to edit photos. Decided to make a myspace website for it. In which we did, and would message people or add them asking if they would like their photo edited. Soon we had messages and people were sending their own personal photo to us asking us to edit them. Soon we had more then 80 photos to edit from various people. Which to me was like "AH!" Soon after that I believe that Brent lost interest in it. So it was all up to me to edit all 80 or so picturers, I was over-whelmed with it all! But Shortly after that, I realized that I wished that this picture was taken this way, or it would have been cool if they did this in the picture, etc. So I then realized that I loved editing pictures but I also love taking them. So I went and took family portraits, kid portraits, and self portraits, nature etc. I took and edited them, and I find that I needed something more then a myspace.
So this is why I created this website. I wanted to further my career in photography. And in doing so I have created flyers, bulletins, and business cards, and this site. I hope that you enjoy your visit, and that it helped you. I understand how it can be to want a special event to be remembered by a great picture. I am here only to inform you, that you can still get that great looking photo, and it doesn’t have to burn a hole in your wallet!
