The girls wish Lucy all the best in her recovery from a broken arm sustained in the semi final against California Girls.
The girls took part in their 2nd competition in two weeks and showed fantastic spirit during a red hot gruelling day at the prestigious Norton & Stockton Tournament on the Northern League ground.
In a 6 team league the girls played superbly to not concede a single goal in any of the 5 group matches, winning 2-0 against California Lasses and drawing 0-0 with Nunthorpe Girls,Middlesbrough Ladies,California Girls and Riverside Girls.
This put them into 4th place in the group and a semi-final against California Girls, unfortunately the greater experience told on the day and the girls lost 2-0 but held their heads up high on a terrific days work.

Girl of the Tournament : ASHLEIGH.
Middleton Girls represented the club again superbly at California Girls Club,South Bank in a series of friendlies to help the North Riding Girls League Representative side gain match experience.
In the 1st game they played Consett 'B ' team and despite the opposition having far superior experience they ran the game from start to finish but were unable to convert this into goals.Consett took a first half lead as the girls struggled to adapt to the long grass conditions slowing down their play but as time was ebbing away 'TWIN POWER' took over as first EMILY then ABBIE scored superbly with great finishes to steal the game.
The next game against even tougher opposition Consett 'A' was played during a terrential down pour but the girls were terrific and EMILY again scored to give them a terrific half time lead.Unfortunately as the rain disapeared so it appeared did the girls concentration as they quickly consceded 3 goals in a matter of minutes as league experience appeared to start to show, however the last five minutes was all Middleton as EMILY got a second goal and various other chances went so close but the score remained 3-2 to Consett, but another fantastic performance.
The final match was the big one against the league representative side,a selection of the best players from the clubs in the league and the girls again lifted their performance as they battled away against a really strong passing side, which eventually told as two 2nd half goals won it for North Riding. No disgrace for Middleton as again they showed what a really promising team they have become in a short time.
