Hello and Welcome to Middlebrook Reptiles. My name is Tom Middlebrook, I am 17 years old and I am a keen herpteologist. This site is dedicated to Herpteology (the study of reptiles and amphibians). I live in Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire. I have been interested in animals all my life. But over the past few years my main passion has been reptiles. As i find them amazing, incredible, and very interesting creatures that are unlike other animals. Over the past 5 or 6 years i have been researching and finding out alot of information on reptiles, and i eventually got my first in 2005. I have gained an awful lot of knowledge in general reptile care and information on many species of reptile, amphibian and fish. My collection has grown rapidly over the past couple of years of owning only lizards and newts to keeping snakes.
I hope to expand my collection, and I have decided what animals i want to specialise in. Those being Ratsnakes, Australian Geckos and Pythons and Rhacodactylus sp. These are the animals that i find most interesting, as many species are stunning, easy to keep and just incredibly interesteing creatures.
I am currently in 6th form at Townsend School in Hertfordshire, studying for my A levels, I am doing AS Biology, Maths and Media Studies and A2 Geography, and my current plan is to go to university to study Zoology. I have a Saturday job at a local aquatics shop, which is awesome because I get to work with loads of fish and deal with customers and stuff and I get discount on aquatics stuff & money to pay for the upkeep of my reptiles and to buy new ones.
I'm very interested in most species of reptile but my favourites are Rhacodactylus Geckos, Rat Snake Species, Tribilonotus skinks, Heloderma species, Australian Geckos and some of the Australian Python species such as womas
I spend much of my spare time rresearching Reptiles & Amphibians, particularly those who are not often seen for sale and are seldom kept and understood by the majority of reptile keepers.
I made this site to help teach others about my obsession, and to spread my knowledge of reptile to others. Please have a look around. There is a section on my reptiles, my setups, caresheets and a guestbook.
Some of my animals are and/or soon will be old enough for breeding, when fertile eggs are laid i will add and update an Availiable Section

Thanks enjoy!!
1st May 07 Scratch the pythons lol. I still have the equipment but the shop i was going to get the royals didn't seem to get them in, i waited and waited and have now given up on them. So instead i will be getting either another corn (female), A trinket snake and possibly a hognose. |
