ABOUT
midair is a mod for quakeworld in which damage can only be taken when the player is in the air (or water). damage taken is directly proportional to the height the player is above the standard jump height. the only weapon you possess is the rocketlauncher (and the axe!) it uses the existing quake files so all thats needed to play is qwprogs.dat (which goes in the quake/midair directory) for the server and possibly the maps. More info can be found in the readme. i thought id add that its not easy to get midairs with a rocketlauncher (unless ur a filthy lpb), so this mod isnt for everyone ;) HISTORY midair (maybe to be renamed) was created on the 14/9/01 by jimmy based on an idea by dp (me!) it was first tested that very same night (cos jimmy is really quick and eleet) on kods super server, in a nailbiting showdown between me and kod himself on end.bsp. the final score was 53-0 to kod (i really did get some midairs, just the lava kept killing me :[). the second test was between me and zin on the same map, with the score ending up something like -17 to -40 to zin the next day i made midair.bsp which kod said would be crap compared to end.bsp, without even playing it, bastard :( anyway we got round to playing it a couple of days later and it was ok, the lavas not as annoying as on end but the walls take away from the whole midair kills thing :/ might update it. jimmy changed a few things around and its getting close to perfection ;). |
