LATEST: October 17th 2004:
Mark your calendar for the second annual Music for Parkinson's Research concert being held on October 17 from 3:30pm-5:30pm. Last year's concert raised more than $30,000 for MJFF! The organization has decided that money raised this year will be ear-marked for LEAPS.
September 19th, 2004:
The Flint Area Parkinson's Support Group is holding its annual Fun Walk at the football field behind old Lake Fenton High School on Torrey Road. Registration is at noon and the Walk is from 1:00-3:00pm. The entry fee is $10/person or $30/family; the fee is waived for children 8 and under. A portion of the funds raised will benefit MJFF.
September 12, 2004:
Michael J Fox's Foundation for Parkinson's Disease holds the second annual paddling at Cold Spring Harbor, New York. This is a regional event to help raise more money for a cure. The fun starts at 10:00am when all kayakers will launch from Cold Spring Harbor. Depending on the weather, water current and physical ability, most should reach the finish at Camp Wang by 3:00pm. A BBQ and raffle will be held directly following kayaking. All proceeds will be donated to MJFF.
April 24, 2004:
On April 24, 2004 there was the 10th Annual Parkinson's Walk, more than 7,000 people turned up for the walk to help raise money for a cure. The walk took place in Central Park, New York City and thousands of dollars was raised. The walk began in 1994 and has become more popular every year since. It is a good way to excerise and helps to find a much needed cure. Michael J Fox participated in the walk and here are some pictures from the event:
