Detailed Plot:
Michael J Fox plays Marty McFly and Seamus McFly in this final part to the Back To The Future Triology. The film picks up where part II finnished, Marty runs back to 1955 Doc, who has fainted because he had just seen Marty go back to 1985, and was suprised to see him back 1 minute later.
Marty drives Doc back to his home and stops the night in 1955. In the morning Doc wakes up forgetting all about the events of last night, that is, until he sees Marty laying asleep in his house. Marty then shows Doc the letter, the note from 1885 Doc includes instructions to finding The Time Machine preserved in the ground for seventy years!
Marty spots a grave stone which says Doc's name on it, the grave says that he was shot in the back by Buford Mad-Dog Tannen, who has killed 12 times before. He takes a picture of it so he can show Doc in 1885, when he fixes the time machine and travels there.
When the DeLoreon is fixed, Marty arrives in 1885 and says goodbye to Doc in 1955, he goes into a bar and sees Mad-Dog, who mistakes him for Seamus McFly, Marty's distant relative who owns a farm in the Old West, with his wife, Lea Thompson. Marty mistakly angers Tannen by calling him by Mad-Dog, which he hates.
Marty catches up with Doc, when Doc saves Marty from been hung by Buford and his gang. He is angry at first because he told Marty not to come and get him, because he is happy in 1885. Marty warns Doc all about his death in a weeks time, and shows him the photograph, which mentions a woman called Clara Clayton, but Doc doesn't know her. Marty pursuades Doc to go back with him before it's too late.
A few days later Doc and Marty are riding on there horses when they see a woman about to fall off a cliff, as her horse was out of control. It turns out the woman is supposed to die and is called Clara, Doc falls in love with her, takes her home, and promises he'll see her again.
Doc makes a model just as Part I, but this time it shows a new plan, to get the DeLoreon up to 88mph, and get it back to 1985. The plan is to put the Time Machine on the railroad track, and get the train to push the DeLoreon up to 88.
There is a festival to celebrate the clocktower been built and Clara and Doc go together for a dance. Buford comes along, threatens to kill Doc, but Marty steps in, and saves him, but nearly getting killed himself. Mad-Dog sets a date to meet Marty for a fight in the street, but they need to go back the same day and time or it will be too late.
Doc visits Clara and has to tell her that he's going, but he can't say he's a time traveller. She gets really angry at him because he doesn't give her a straight answer. Doc is depressed and gets drunk.
In the morning, Marty goes looking for Doc and sees him in the bar, drunk. He needs to make Doc think clearly for their plan to work. So he is given a drink to help him recover, but it takes longer than the time Marty has to meet Bulford Tannen, so Tannen waits outside the pub, counting down.
Clara gets on the train, to find everyone talking about how fed up Doc was that his girlfriend, Clara, had reacted the way she did. She stops the train and runs back to find him. She visits his house and sees the model, she sees the plan, and goes in search of him.
Marty beats up Tannen, so everything is fine. Doc is now clear-headed and the pair go to the train ready for the plan. Marty is in the DeLoreon and Doc has to climb across a fast moving train to get to the Time Machine in time. It is very exciting and very intense. You can see a vision of Clara galloping in the background trying to catch up.
Doc eventually hears her calling and helps her along the train, she has to come with them, because it is too late for her to stay there, now she knows the plan, and the train is beyond the saviour point. It is travelling too fast and will fall down the ravine, taking Clara with it. Marty throws them the hoverboard and they don't get to the DeLoreon in time.
Marty returns to 1985 without Doc and Clara, sees his family, and then visits Jennifer who is still laying asleep on the bench, where he left her in Part II. They visit the train track in 1985. Doc returns out of the sky in a train which he has now made into a time machine, Clara is there and they have two sons named Jules & Verne!
