Brief Plot:
President Andrew Shepard starts to fall in love with Sydney Ellen Wade, who is a very simple woman and not very famous. Sydney is an environmental lobbyist, so obviously isn't as popular as the president. He tries to hide it from the public because it's not very good for an american president to fall in love with a woman who is not well known, and the press criticize it. Michael J Fox's character, Lewis Rothchild is the one who gives advice to the president and he is the speech writer. He doesn't have a very big part but the part he does play is pretty important.
Quotes:
Lewis: It's Christmas? A.J. MacInerney: Ya, didn't you get the memo?
Lewis: He cut the entire kick-ass section.
President: She's questioning your loyalty.
Lewis: Hell, I question it all the time.
Lewis: They want leadership. They're so thirsty for it they'll crawl through the desert toward a mirage, and when they discover there's no water, they'll drink the sand.
