Michael J Fox was very popular in the eighties television show Family Ties, which contributed to his fame. He also starred in the successful 3 part Back to the Future films, lots of other films, before returning to television in the 1996 American sitcom, Spin City playing Mr Michael Flaherty, deputy head mayor of New York.
Michael J Fox is loved, not just in America, but outside of the states, many people have heard of him and the work he has done, on our television screens. He has also won many awards and lots of people now know his name. He is recognised as the 17 year old American Teen, Marty McFly, in the three parts of Back To The Future, a great film with lots of well-thought out ideas. Michael also played Alex P Keaton, in Family Ties, playing along-side, Courtney Cox, who played one of the six f.r.i.e.n.d.s, and Tracy Pollan, who he married. Michael also played Mike, in Spin City one of the most successful American series of all time. He has also used his voice for characters such as Stuart Little, and Chance from Disney's Homeward Bound.
Back to the Future was a smash hit and lots of people loved the film, and still love it today, It was Back To The Future, which was behind Mike's successful film career for a number of years. Michael Fox was the character of Marty McFly, All three of the Back To The Future Films were great, and are Michael J Fox's most successful films of all time.
In the beginning of the 90's, Michael's career started to slow down, after some unsuccessful movies. He had a break from his film and television career and decided to spend more time with his family, Tracy Pollan (wife), and his son, Samuel Michael. He later went on to have twin girls, Shuyler Frances and Aquinnah Kathleen and in 2001, Tracy have birth to young Esme Annabelle.
In 1995 Michael took the part as Michael Flahety in Spin City, and starred in the production for five years before he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, and had been keeping it a secret since 1991. He decided to quit Spin City, and setup a foundation, to help find the cure for the disease. Even with his busy schedule to find the cure for Parkinson's disease, Michael J Fox still dips in and out of the television and film business. Which is good, because he's so good at it.
