Smushed Fried = Love
A/N: What if Dean hadn’t interrupted Lorelai and Luke in A-Tisket A-Tasket? We’ll find out.. Lorelai’s POV. Disclaimer: We own nothing but our part of an exclusive GGSiST Club. You know you’re jealous. Sunday morning. Usually, it’s a morning filled with Rory begging me to wake up so we can make it to Luke’s by lunch time. This morning is an exception. This morning I am wide awake by 7:53, quite an accomplishment I might say, and was sitting in the kitchen drinking my third cup of coffee by the time Rory emerged from her bedroom wearing the exact same thing she had been wearing last night. ”Good morning oh daughter of mine. Ready to go to Luke’s?!” I asked, jumping up and sloshing coffee on my jeans. Ah well. A minor detail. I can get more coffee. At Luke’s. “ Um, Mom. I don’t mean to insult your highly perceptive skills on noticing the state of my well being, but, well, before I go anywhere I need to shower and change.” “Oh. Well, hurry up. Mommy’s insides will systematically implode if I don’t get some of Luke’s coffee in them.” Twenty minutes later I’m dragging a very wet and disgruntled Rory down the road to the diner. For just a tiny second, my breath catches in my throat when I see him through the glass door and I can feel my lips spreading into a small smile. The happy jingling of the bells induces a butterfly effect in my stomach. Rory and I take a seat at the counter and I do my best to look extremely casual. So not a problem for me. Luke came behind the counter out of nowhere, throwing off my casualness. Out of nowhere my hand flew out, literally knocking the coffee pot out of Luke’s hands. It crashed to the floor and shattered, leaking coffee all over his shoes. So much for being smooth. I can tell he’s trying not to laugh at me. Rory on the other hand isn’t hiding anything. I scowl at her, trying to contort my face into one of pure anger. Or at least until.. “That’s a nice face Lorelai,” Luke says from the floor. He’s wiping up evidence of my clumsiness. My cheeks flush a light pink and I inwardly curse myself for getting embarrassed. “Luke, can I talk to you for just one second?” I surprise him by pulling him up and shoving him in the storage room. “Uh Lorelai I have customers ou-“ he begins. “I know I know. Just give me a minute.” I take a step closer to him and make sure he’s looking straight at me. “About last night..” I started to say. “Yes. Last night..” he interrupts. “Well I was wondering..” “Yeah?” “Was it a spur of the moment thing.. or.. well. Here’s the thing. The thing is.. Well.. umm. This is the thing.. I was just sort of wondering if like.. um. Gosh. Okay what I mean to say is are we in a.. relationship.. now?” Luke takes a couple steps closer to me and gives me a small semi-smile. “I bought your damn basket didn’t I?” “I’ll take that as a yes,” I say before pushing myself up against him. He kisses me. It’s a soft kiss only for a moment until the passion overwhelms us both. He pushes me against the wall and I let my fingers run against the soft brown curls under his baseball cap. His calloused fingers slide under the hem of my shirt and glide softly against my stomach around to my hips. My hands slid down the back of his neck to his shoulders and finally coming to a stop on his flannel covered chest. I played with the top button on his shirt for a second before undoing it. I felt his warm hands slide farther up my sides, pulling my shirt with him. Two minutes late I had unbuttoned the last button revealing a dark gray tee shirt underneath. I slid the outer layer off as he continued to travel farther up. In one sharp motion he pulled my shirt over my head and ran his hands down my arms and to my waist. I thanked God I hadn’t put on a gross bra this morning. The kissing intensified as I let my fingers run slowly on the back of his neck. Crash Luke and I jumped apart as Ceasar joined us in the storage room with his hands covering his eyes. “Sorry to disturb you Boss. You’ve got orders up and a bunch of angry customers.” “Uh, jeez, okay, thanks Cesar,” Luke replied, turning a faint shade of pink. "By the way, I didn’t peek Lorelai.” “Uhh. Thanks Ceasar,” I called as he turned and exited. I cast an amused glance at Luke who was buttoning his flannel and straightening his hat. Then I realized I had no shirt on. “Umm Luke? Can you help me find my shirt?” To be continued... |
