Metropolitan Struts Its Stuff

Our members made a grand showing at the Area 11 International and Table Topics Contests, Friday, 24 March.

Competing for the first time, (Shasha) Sharon Boerbon Hanson, ATMB, our VP of Public Relations and Webmaster answered the Table Topics question "If given the choice, would you choose wealth or wisdom, and why" to win First Place.

In her first contest ever, our President Debbie Andrews, CTM, took home a trophy, sledding into Second Place like a swan in the International Speech Contest. Her speech "Rites of Passage on Mt. Washington" kept the audience laughing and engaged.

Craig Ostrem, DTM, our VP of Membership,  served as the Toastmaster for the evening. He  kept the audience entertained and served as a wonderful example of polish and professionalism.

Frank Mayers, DTM, our VP of Education, and Eastern Division Governor, kept the evening on track and conducted the business portion with his well recognized competence and humor.

Ken Nelson, Secretary/Treasurer and Sharon McGinnis, Past President, gave their very much appreciated support to the contestants. Area 11 Governor Jeanne Fabriano joined the group in a celebratory glass of wine after the contest. A good showing all around for Metropolitan Club 1696!

Shasha moves on to the Division contest, 31 March at Chaamps in Maplewood. Debbie, if the first place winner is unable to compete, has the potential to compete also.
