                      Chapter 1: Introduction.

Welcome to Zebes and get ready to die. This game, despite all appearances, is hard. Please turn your attention to the map located in the group section in the Metroid Map Photo album and familiarize yourself with the areas and their locations so that you will know where to go. This game is also playable on the Nintendo Gamecube if you have Metroid Fusion, a Gameboy Advance, a Nintendo Gamecube, Metroid Prime, and a GBA-GBC Link Cable. You can also play Metroid Prime with Samus in Fusion Suit. But that isn't important. Okay let's go and play the game and get through it.

Chapter 2: Weapons and Items.

Here are some of the main things that you are going to need on your adventure through the mainly underground planet known a Zebes.

Maru Mari (a.k.a. Morph Ball): You will need the Maru Mari early in the game. It will allow you to get into small cracks. It is important.

Missiles: Missiles are important in order to destroy bosses, open certain doors, and destroy some random enemies.

Energy Tanks: Energy Tank are really helpful through out this game. They increase your energy capacity which is really good. They will help.

Long Beam: This allows your beam to go across the screen, instead of just right in front of you. Not necessary, but helpful.

High Jump Boots: Not necessary if you don't want the five missiles at the top of Norfair of the Varia Suit. In other words, get them.

Wave Beam: This is a crazy and the most powerful beam in the game. It is useful.

Morph Ball Bomb: I should have put this down earlier, but it slipped my mind. This Power-up is extremely necessary and vital to get into Kraid's Lair.

Screw Attack: This Power-Up will allow you to kill almost every enemy while you are in the air.

Ice Beam: This Power-Up will freeze your enemies temporarily.

Ice Weapon: Same as above. You get the Ice Beam and use it to get a few Power-Ups and then you get the Wave Beam to give you more fire power, then, since you need to freeze the Metroids to kill them, you go to Norfair and grab the Ice Weapon. Varia Suit: Basically makes you stronger and less vulnerable.

                                                    Section 2:
                                                  Chapter 3: Power-Up
                                                     a. Brinstar

Alright, you just go beamed down onto Zebes. Go left, jump up onto the big block, go over it and claim the Maru Mari. Follow the horizontal tunnel until you get to the vertical shaft. Head up the shaft and go into the first door on the right, go through the tunnel and head down to claim the missiles. Head back up and get the energy tank that's in the next horizontal shaft to the right. Follow that shaft all of the way through until you reach another vertical shaft. Head up that shaft and go into the first door to tour left. Go inside and follow this horizontal shaft until you see a red door. Shift to missiles and blast the door five times. The door will open, so go inside. Once inside you will see a statue of a citizen of the Chozo race holding a ball. Shoot the ball to reveal Morph Ball Bombs. Jump into the statue's hands and claim the bombs and then head back out to the vertical shaft. Head down the way you came and go into the horizontal shaft. Go until you come into a smaller tunnel that has lava bellow it. Bomb around until you blast a hole in the ground. Go down and find the door on the left side of the shaft. Go inside of this door and follow it to another red door (hopefully you have regained five missiles since you got the bombs. Blast the door five times and go in side and find another Chozo statue. Blast the ball it's holding and claim the Ice Beam. Come out of there and head back up and go left until you reach the gold vertical shaft. Head all the way up the shaft and go into the last door on the right. Head through here until you come to some enemy infested tunnels. Take the top one, but beware of the enemies crawling around in there. After you come out of the little Morph ball tunnels and keep going until you reach a missile expansion. Get that and keep going until you reach an Energy Tank. Now head back to the first, blue, vertical shaft and head up to the second door on the left and go through the room and blast the red door at the end of the shaft. Go inside and obtain the Long Beam. Head back down to where you received the first Missile Expansion. This time, go all the way through the shaft and go out the door at the end of the shaft. Inside you will find an elevator. Head down this elevator and you will end up in Norfair.

b. Norfair

Now that you are in upper Norfair, jump off of the elevator and head left. Go until you come across a missile expansion. Grab the missile expansion and keep going until you come to a door. Go out this door and you will come into a vertical shaft , go down and go into the next door. Inside here, at the end of the room, you will find another missile expansion. Get it and go back to the elevator room. This time go into the right door and head through this horizontal shaft and come into the next vertical shaft. Go to the bottom door in this shaft and go in of course. Go through this room until you hit a wall. Roll into Morph Ball form and go through the tunnel in the wall. Bomb any of the blocks in your way and keep going. You should see a bubble creature, a glider, and one of those annoying things that jump out of the lava. Kill the bubble and freeze the glider. Stand on the glider and wait for the lava jumper and freeze him when he gets high enough so that you get over the wall. (If you aren't able to jump high enough, then wait until you have obtained the Space Jump Boots and then come back.) Go and get the two missile expansion and go back to the vertical shaft. When you come out into the shaft roll into a ball and begin to bomb until you bomb an opening. Fall in and bomb any blocks in your way. You will come into another vertical shaft. Go into the first door on the left. Proceed through the shaft and you will come to a red door. Open the door the usual way and go in and go to the Chozo statue and claim the Space Jump Boots. Now is the time to go back and claim the two missile expansions if you weren't able to claim them earlier. Even if you were able to get the two missile expansions earlier, go back up anyway and go to the top of the first vertical shaft and go in the door on the left at the very top of the shaft and claim three new missile expansions. Come out and go to the very top little plat form and shot at the ceiling. On you have shot a hole in the ceiling shot the other block just a little ways above it. After you shot the second block, keep jumping until the first block appears under you so that you have a steady place to stand. Shoot the next blocks and then jump into the little room that has one door on the left. Go inside that door and claim both missile expansions. Go back to the room where you claimed the boots and roll into ball form and bomb the area under the statue and go through the wall. You will come to an are that has a wall similar to where you claimed the two missile expansions earlier. Go over the wall the same way you did the other one. You will come to another wall just like the last one, go over it and go through the door. Keep going until you come into a green room. Find a passage in the ceiling in the green room and go in the door in that area. Go through that area and come to the Chozo statue room and claim the Screw Attack. Go out and back out to the green room and bomb your way to the green room you first entered. Now bomb the area in front of the door on the right. Go down and go in the door to your right. Go through this shaft until you come to a wall. This wall has a secret passage as you might have guessed, but this one you have to is inside the platform, so bomb the block closes to the wall and go in. Now go through this area until you come into a green room with lava below it. Bomb the block right under the door and roll into the false lava. Go to the edge to find and opening so that you can drop down into the small green room below. Go into the door and go to the edge of the room. You will see an Energy Tank on one of the narrow platforms. (Note: You can only hold six Energy Tanks, so if you already have six tanks then ignore all of the others.) Grab that and go back to the green room below where you obtained the Screw Attack. Now go to the door on the left and go through this shaft until you reach a vertical shaft with a lava pit at the bottom. (Note: Most lava pits placed in shaft and little areas like this are false.) Go into the false lava and roll into Morph Ball form and bomb around. Go into the little area that you bombed and drop into the vertical shaft below. The lava at the bottom of the shaft is false and it does have a little hole that you can bomb yourself into, but it doesn't lead any where, it just stops, so leave that alone. Go through the door on the right and head through this horizontal shaft until you come to a green room. Bomb near the door on the right and then drop don into the shaft below. Go in the door and obtain the two missile expansions. Go back out and head back up to the green room. Go through the door on the right and go until you come across another green room that has lava below it. Bomb right under the door that you came in and go down and fall into the false lava. Down in that shaft there is a door that you should go through and at the end is a statue room where you can obtain the Wave Beam. Go back up into the green room and go into the door on the right and go until you find the missile expansion. Get and go. It's a ways away, but head back to the elevator that takes you back up to Brinstar.

c. Finish the Job

Now that you have the Space Jump Boots, you should head back to the big gold shaft in Brinstar. The left door at the very top of the shaft goes into the green horizontal shaft that had both an energy tank and a missile expansion that you should have grabbed earlier. Proceed through the little Morph Ball tunnels and go into the first door you see. Stop in here and shoot at the ceiling and jump up until the blocks come back and trap you in them. Fire at the blocks above you and go into the small vertical shaft and jump up and shoot at the door and then jump in and follow that shaft until you come to the red door and go in and get the Varia Suit. Now go back to Norfair and from the elevator room go in the door on the right and come into the vertical shaft and bomb down to the shaft that held the Space Jump boots. Don't go into that room, but instead go down to the very bottom of the shaft and go in the door on the left and proceed through this horizontal shaft. Go in the door and you will come into an elevator room. Go down and you will enter Lower Norfair Ridley's Lair.

                           Chapter 4:
                Lower Norfair: Ridley's Lair

Welcome to the lowest point in Zebes. Zebes' hell. And at the bottom is Zebes' Satan. After you have finished powering up down here you will face the fire-breathing beast known as Ridley. Now let's get on with this. Go into the door on your left and you will be in a small gray tunnel and then go through the next blue door and shoot the blocks right above it and wait for the door to regenerate. After the door is back jump on the door and get into the shaft. Go into the door and go to the end of the shaft and obtain the missile expansion no go back out and go to the gar room again and go into the door on the left. In here is a green room, at the end is where you need to go, but it's not that easy. There is a huge wall at the end that you cannot get past. What you have to is go on the other side of the real lava and bomb the block right beside it. You will the drop into a secret Morph Ball tunnel. Go through here until you get to the end and place a bomb so that you can get out. Come out and go into the red door. You will see an energy tank, but don't get happy just yet, there is a catch. Okay there is a hole in the middle of the tunnel. There is one stable block in right front of it and two fake blocks in front of that one. Jump over the two fake blocks and land on the stable block and claim the energy tank. Now fall down the hole and go in the door on the right and continue until you come to a vertical shaft that has a door right across from you. In there is a missile expansion, but it isn't easy to get in there. You have to fit yourself into the small space between the blocks and then go in there. You can try, but I've never done it, although I didn't try that much because you don't need every missile expansion to beat the game. Whether you get the missile expansion or not you have to drop into the hole anyway. Go in the door on the right if you want one more missile expansion, but if you want to cut straight to Ridley go left. If you go to the right go until you come into the vertical shaft and drop down to the next door down. Go through the door and go until you reach the missile expansion. Now go back to the area where you have to go to get to Ridley and continue through that shaft and go in the blue door and in there is the fire-breathing beast Ridley. There is a ledge that you can duck behind right below where he is. Just shoot at him until he dies and dodge the fire balls that he throws and hit him with the Screw Attack while you're avoiding his fire balls. If you dodge shot and attack you should have no problem. After Ridley is dead, go through the door behind him. Inside there is some false lave that you can walk on except for one part just right after the blocks that you stepped off of. Jump over that area or out of it. I would give you a better explanation, but it hard to explain. The rest is stable. Walk on it until you get to the end where an energy tank awaits you. Grab it go. If you missed the missile expansion that you have to squeeze through the blocks to get through, the you can go back and try again. Also if you skipped the missile expansion below Ridley's room, go get it now if you want it. After you're done messing around down here, go straight back up to Brinstar.

                                                       Chapter 5:
               Brinstar Depths: Kraid's Lair

From here go to the area between into the room right after the room you started in. There are a bunch of destructible blocks below the blocks that have the Zoomer and Geemer crawling on it. Roll into a Morph Ball and go under the blocks and bomb so that you can drop down into the vertical shaft. (Note: Every other room is a vertical shaft and the others are horizontal shafts, you always switch between the two in every room you enter.) Now drop all the way down and go into the door on the right, which is actually the only one down here. Go through it and you will see an elevator. Go down the elevator and you are now in Brinstar Depths. Down here lives the ugly monster Kraid. Alright this is how you get through here alive. Jump off of the elevator platform and head in the blue door on the left. Destroy the enemies in here and go to the wall. Roll into a Morph Ball and bomb yourself into the tunnel and roll to the other side and go up on the narrow platforms and get the missile expansion. Now go back into the vertical shaft and go into the red door on the right side. Go in there and claim the missile expansion, but beware of the flies and all of the other creatures. There is a door on the other side, but nothings in there, except a waist of time. You can explore if you want though.(Skip until you see --- if you have already claimed six energy tanks.) Now go back out to the vertical shaft and go in the red door below the one you just came out of. Go through here and come to the wall. Bomb yourself up into the tunnel in the wall and go all the way through it until you come to the other side. There is an energy tank in the middle of all the pipe like things. Get on top of the first one and roll into a ball and roll of the edge and force yourself into the wall on your right so that you can get fit into the area. Then jump out of the ball and claim the energy tank. Go to the right and get on the highest pipe and the roll off to the left over all of he other pipes and then force yourself into the wall so that you can roll back out of there. ---Go to the vertical shaft and drop down to the red door below the one you just came out of. Land on the big block in the middle of the shaft and drop down to the red door. You will most likely fall past it, but if you force yourself to the right then you will fall into the space under it. You can now jump up and get to the red door. Shoot it and go in. Follow this shaft all of the way through until you reach a huge nearly empty vertical shaft. The only thing in here is a few stable blocks, a small row of destructible row of blocks and a huge row of blocks. There are three doors in this shaft. They are all on the left. There is the one you came out of, one right below that that has a missile expansion, and the one at the very bottom which leads to Kraid. You can go get the missiles now and then head down for Kraid. Go all the way down and keep going through that shaft until you come to a blue door. Go inside and shoot the red door. Go inside that door and you will find Kraid. Shoot him with your missiles and, use Screw Attack, and Wave Beam on him and you should do fine. After your battle you might be weary, so even if you already have six energy tanks, jump into the lava on the right side and shoot the blocks on the right side. You will open up an energy tank. To get it you will have to get up on the platform that you came in from and roll off the side and stick to wall on the right. You will roll into the hole and claim it.

                                                Chapter 6:
                       Last chance for Power

You have defeated Ridley and Kraid, so you are almost ready to go Tourian, just one problem, you need the Ice Beam. The problem there is that you have already obtained the Ice Beam and it is gone. There is a simple solution. Go back to Norfair and head into the door on the right and go until you come to the vertical shaft. Head up and go into the next door on the left. There is a wall in the middle of this shaft. There is a Lava Jumper that you will have to freeze and get on top of it and roll into a ball and roll into the wall and bomb any blocks on the way. Once you get through, shoot the red door, go in, and obtain the Ice Weapon. If you don't have six energy tank then here are some location: of one that wasn't included in the above walkthrough

Go to the blue shaft right after you start the has a big wall in the middle that you have to role under. Stand against the wall on the wall on the left side and shoot up. You will open a block that contains an Energy Tank. Lure the flying beast from the other side of the wall and freeze him so that you can jump up on it and obtain the Energy Tank.

Chapter 7: Tourian

Okay, from where ever you wandered in the game, head to the first blue vertical shaft in the game. Not the one that leads to Kraid's Lair, but the on that lead contained the Long Beam and led to the first gold vertical shaft. Go to the top of the shaft and go into the door on the left. Go all of the way through this shaft and you will see a red door. Go in side and you will see two statues, one of Kraid and one of Ridley. Now that you have defeated them they should be flashing. Shoot them and they will rise up and destructible blocks will appear over the gap at the bottom of the room. You should fill you energy and missiles before going through there. Go out into the horizontal shaft and shoot the beetles that come out of the air pipes until you are completely restored. Go back into the statue room or the "Road to Tourian" and roll under to the destructible blocks and roll all of the way to the other side and go in the blue door. In here is an elevator that you should go down into Tourian. Tourian is not like the rest of the planet. Tourian is completely mechanical and not natural at all. Down here is the Metroids and the Mother Brain.

                                     Chapter 8:
                   The Metroid Menace

Once you get just a little ways into the first vertical shaft in Tourian, you will see a Jellyfish looking thing, this thing is known as the Metroid. There is only one way to beat these things. Freeze them and shoot them with your missiles five times. It takes a few missiles to beat these things, but they leave big prizes. Also, if you get caught by one of these things, then roll into a ball and lay a bomb and when it goes off then jerk to the side so that you are free. Go to the bottom of this shaft and shoot at the red door. The only difference in this door and all of the other red doors is that you have to shoot it ten times with your missiles. Go in here and get past the Metroids and floating disks. Ignore the Metroids so that you don't waist your missiles, although you should at least freeze them and move on. Go into the door at the end of this shaft and proceed to the bottom of this zigzagging shaft. Beware of the disks and Metroid. Freeze the disks and destroy the Metroid in this shaft. At the bottom is another red door. Go in and You are near the Mother Brain's lair.

                                                  Chapter 9:
Bottom of Tourian: Mother Brain's Lair

This is it. The final objective in your mission. Destroying the Mother Brain! The mechanical life vein of the planet Zebes. Proceed through this shaft and freeze or kill these Metroids and go to the end of this shaft and go into the blue door. In here is the Mother Brain's actual lair. This is the most mechanically advanced place on the planet if Zebes. There are machine guns in here that will fire at you. There are also more floating disks in here as well. There are also these tubes that look like they have brains stuffed into them. These are Zebesites. They will not attack you, but they will block your way. You have to shoot them until they get gradually smaller until they are destroyed. They are through the whole room until you reach the Mother Brain. Destroy all of these, dodge the machine guns and freeze the disks. Go through all of this and at the end of the shaft is the Mother Brain. Stand where the last Zebesite was and fire at the Mother Brain and dodge and freeze the disks. Blast a hole in the Mother Brain's glass and continue to fire at it until it is destroyed. The Mother Brain never attacks you directly, but the room is plenty dangerous.

                                    Chapter 10:
The End of Tourian: Escape from Zebes

After the Mother Brain is destroyed go to the place where she, or it, was sitting you will see a message that says that you have to get off of the planet and gives you a time limit. Go into the blue door and you will be in a huge vertical shaft. The bottom platforms are big, but as you go up, they get smaller. Jump to each and watch your feet and you should get out fine. Once you get to the elevator, go up and you will come out to the surface.

Chapter 11: The Endings

  1. 3 hours or less: Samus' armor will go away. She is wearing a purple one piece bathing suit.
  2. 3-5 hours: Samus' helmet will go away. This was the actual first evidence that Samus' was a woman.
  3. Over 5 hours: Samus raises her fist or gives you a thumbs up. I really can't tell which it is. The armor stays on though.
  4. Over 5 hours with suit less Samus: Samus turns her back to you and puts her arm over her face as if she is ashamed.
  5. An hour or less: 'Samus will appear in only a purple bikini. It is really hard to do, but it is possible.

Epilogue

Great!! You fulfilled your mission. It will revive peace in space. But, it may be invaded by other Metroid. Pray for a true peace in space. The planet of Zebes is at peace and the Mother Brain has been destroyed. Your next mission is in Metroid Prime. After you have made Tallon IV peaceful, you will continue your adventure on SR-388 in Metroid II: Return of Samus. After you have done away with the Metroids on SR-388, you will return to Zebes to once again face off against Ridley, Kraid, and the Mother Brain, as well as some brand new bosses. After that, you will return to the B.S.L. labs above SR-388. We can only just wait for Samus' next adventure. Until then, I'm out space hunters.
