Hey metal maniacs!
We have reviewed the
Eternal Pyre EP from Slayer, which has "Cult", the new song from their yet-to-be-released album. Here's what we thought about it:
Finally, after about 5 years of wait,
it is time for thrash metal gods Slayer to unleash a heavy new album.
"Cult" is the only song released from their album coming out on July
25, 2006, proving that it will be as fast as ever and will definately
have Slayer's trademark solos. The lyrics, as well as the music are
pure Slayer and couldn't dissapoint anyone who's a fan of
God Hates Us All,
Diabolus In Musica,
Undisputed Attitude or
Divine Intervention.
But there's one thing about "Cult" that makes it stand out from the
past 4 albums and it is the drumming. This new album will be the first
album with original drummer Dave Lombardo since
Seasons In The Abyss. Dave still proves that he can play the drums like he did back in the days of "Reign In Blood". There's also a bonus on the
Eternal Pyre EP. There is a live video of "War Ensemble" live in Germany at the Full Force Festival on July 1, 2005 and a video of Slayer in the studio from this March.
