HIM

HIM formed in 1993, when Ville Valo, Mige Armour and Lily Lazer started the band. Lily played guitar and bass and Ville sang and played drums until they could find replacements. The band created a 3 track demo which included Borellus and The Heartless. In 1995 they put together another demo which included Stigmata Diaboli, Phantom Gate and Wicked Game. After these demos, the band hired new members. Mige rejoined the band and a man called Pattka joined. The line up was completed. Ville sand, Lily played Guitar, Mige played bass and Pattka played drums. When the demo was released, HIM needed special effects, like background sounds of rain for Wicked Game. So they needed some keyboards. They let a man called Antto do this. The band didnt expect Antto to stay with the band, but ended up with a premanenet position as keyboarder. But he only stayed with the band until Greatest Love Songs Vol 666 was recorded, as himself and Ville didnt get along very well. After this, Pattka left the band, for two reasons, his wife was pregnant, and he had anheavy alcohol obsession. But Pattka's and Antto's places in the band were soon replaced by Gas Lipstick, on drums, and Zoltan Pluto, on keyboards. This line up of the band recorded Razorblade Romance, but after this album, Zoltan resigned from the band, saying that he felt pressured and that he didnt fit in with the other band members. So they hired Emerson Burton to play keyboards. This line up is still playing today.
