Keeling Shield: 2005-06

The Keeling Shield is played in the memory of William Keeling who lived at No2 Primrose Street, off Stanley Road, Walton, Liverpool 4, who invented 'Newfooty', the pre-runner to Subbuteo.

The Keeling Shield was introduced by Glyn Howarth, (now known as Major Glyn Williams Hughes) in the season 1984/85 and has proved to be a much sought after trophy and one of the most difficult to win.

Glyn won the Keeling Shield in season 1987, the same season he won the League championship.

The competition consists of a two legged tie timed at 15 minutes each way. If tied at the end of both legs it's 5 minutes each way extra time and if the match is still tied it goes to five shots each, and if still tied, sudden death shots.

The final is one game: Same rules apply.
