1996 Dun Mare "Taffy" (Primarily a games mount)

Taffy has quite the resume. She has competed in everything from halter to hunter/jumper, to western pleasure, reining and games. However, Taffy's best events are speed events. We are hoping to eventually take her to an ABRA run, however we must first find time to do so within our busy working/showing/maintenence/remodeling lifestyle. Taffy has shown pretty much all over alberta in open shows as she is not eligible to be shown in breed shows. Taffy Has come a long way in her training since we aquired her, from simple trail horse, to a lean mean show stopping machine!

All Foals Out of Taffy and sired by Millenium Miracle are eligible to be registered with the Canadian Pinto Horse Association.

 

A little History On Taffy

We aquired Taffy during the drought year, where she became lead mare of the herd and it has not changed since. Since coming into our ownership, Taffy has been finished under saddle, and is now out on the open show circuits. We are hoping to make her ABRA (Alberta Barrel Racing Assoc.) debut sometime in the near future.

Taffy has given us 2 wonderful foals, both of which are by our stallion "Millenium Miracle". The first was an 05 Solid dunskin filly "A Dancers Millenium" (who was sold as a weanling to Debra and Elodie Marquis, and is currently back at Merikle Waters for starting under saddle). The second being an 06 chestnut tovero gelding "Iniko's Millenium". 

 "Dancer" As we call her has been shown selectively, bringing home a 2nd out of a large class with her amatuer exhibitor, and owner Elodie.

 Iniko was shown in the spring of 07 at a Canadian Pinto show, and he beat out geldings older than him in all classes, bringing home 2 firsts, one Third, and a sixth. He placed in all of his classes, in his first show and first time off the farm.

We have bred Taffy to Millenium Miracle for an 09 foal. We would like to have another baby out of her to hold her "title" on the farm, and to show/game on. Taffy gave us a colt this year, but we are going to try again for a filly for 2010.

 

Here is a video a friend made that includes Brandi & Taffy's pair class with Elizabeth Sitler and Cheerio Vonavet, as well as we competed side by side for all gymkhana but barrel racing. Enjoy! (Taffy and Brandi appear at 1:25)
