About Silversong Farm

Silversong Farm is located in Bloomfield, NY in the Finger Lakes region.  We have been involved with large horses since 1983 but made the switch to American Miniatures in 1992.  Our American Miniature mares are handled daily and have great temperaments that they pass on to their foals.  They are all shown and active in the ESMHA and NYSMHC clubs.

We also have a Modern Shetland filly that was born at our farm in 2006 - she is being trained and shown as a halter horse and is showing a lot of promise.  She is a big animated mover - trainers have called her "a trotting machine."  It is a lovely, natural movement without any enhancement and Nefertiti will return to the Modern Pleasure ring in 2008.

The Morgans were an addition in 2007 - I was looking for a good all around breed that would handle different disciplines, be a faithful, spirited partner and found it in the Morgan breed, which I owned in the mid to late 80s.  Ironically, Weatherly's dam and my former half-Morgan colt were aunt and nephew to one another so it is almost like having a part of my colt back.

Thank you for visiting and enjoy the stories and pictures of my "girls."

About "Mercy"

The "star" of our farm, Haligonian Mercy Bo Cool, aka Mercy, is a black pinto AMHR/PtHA registered American Miniature Horse mare, foaled 6-21-1994. She is a Delta Society registered "Pet Partner", a triple AMHR Hall of Fame performance recipient (Halter Obstacle, Hunter and Jumper), a multi-AMHR National Top Ten All-Star and Area One All Star and a multiple champion and reserve champion winner. Mercy has appeared on Animal Planet's "A Pet Story", in the Miniature Horse Voice and EQUUS magazines, in the EQUUS/Primedia book Straight from the Heart II and in Donna Campbell-Smith's The Book of Miniature Horses. She has been doing volunteer service work for the past 10 years in the greater Rochester, NY area, where she has been visiting schools, libraries and nursing homes as well as participating in parades and other civic events. Children of all ages enjoy her. It is not unusual to see this little mare riding an elevator, riding in a car or giving "kisses" to folks she is visiting. We have owned her since 1994 and have done her training at home. Once in a lifetime a horse comes along that changes the way you look at things and Mercy has been that horse for us. SPRING 2008: Mercy appears in "A Cup of Comfort for Horse Lovers", edited by Colleen Sell and published by Adams Media. Mercy is now listed with three NYC animal talent agencies, hoping to show the world how intelligent the American Miniature Horse can be!
