Cosplay (Otakon 2005)

We must sincerely thank Eurobeat King for all of the pictures he has taken of us in our outfits, especially our MKR outfits! THANK YOU EUROBEAT KING! WE <3 YOU! We also thank everyone else who has taken our picture and posted it online! Thank you!! ^_^ The pictures above are pictures taken by others at the con (since we couldn't get a picture of all three of us!) The ones below are pictures of us without the armor on (it was so hard to walk around all day with the armor on!)

Hikaru Shidou:

Alright, since I finally got the internet, I can finally write about the costumes! Needless to say, this one is my pride and joy. It was the hardest and yet the best costume to work on, and definitely the one that gave me the most satisfaciton at the end. I had the hardest time with the armor since the model magic was hard to mold into the shapes, and then to get it to dry in that shape without slowly sinking out of shape was even harder. I had to use pillows and movies to prop them up in the proper positions! The fabric parts were really simple, and the jewlery even easier, even though the earring kept falling apart. The boots were, as usually for boots, extremely annoying to make. The sword is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE part of the outfit! I LOVE it to death! And it was very light so I could carry it easily. Making it was fun too, shaping all the tiny bits and pieces and then painting them. All in all, this outfit was great and I thought it looked pretty good!
Her sword was amazing, even if she did have crazy trouble with it. And the armor made for funny stories we can all laugh at for years to come (though I think she wanted to throw it at the time). Everyone loved her though, so it was all good!
Her outfit looked absolutely fantastic! Her armor looked so great, If only it would have stayed together! It just kept falling apart on her! But that's okay, because in the pictures, it looks amazing! Her sword was perfect! It looked sooo much like the sword Hikaru has! haha poor Hikaru had so many things falling apart! It was a very rough start in the hotel I felt so bad for her! but it turned out okay we had such a blast walking around! But she made such an awesome Hikaru, I don't care how many things fell apart during the day! I think Hikaru REALLy liked the fact when we took off all the armor and walked around for the rest of saturday and sunday. But once again! She was soooo great! awesome awesome job!

Umi:

Here's some pictures taken by others at the con:
I am so proud of this outfit! I can't believe it turned out so good! Especially for the first real attempt of armor! I made every single thing from this outfit! which is amazing! haha! Now the armor was pretty difficult to make, but it turned out great in the end! The shoulder armor was fun to make and it turned out good, the waist and breast armor was interesting to attach that together! Even the cute little foot armor I made! Getting dressed was umm fun haha! My shoulder armor was connected to my breast armor which was connected to my waist armor haha! So that was fun. Walking around the convention was interesting. The boots kept falling down every step I took and it was REALLY hard to pick up our bags we had to put down for every picture that was taken of us! But I sure loved it! I felt so famous walking around as the Magic Knights! Now my sword, was my baby! I loved how my sword turned out! I couldn't believe a year ago I was dreaming of making the sword for Umi and here I am with my sword! Once again I LOVED this outfit! and I hope to wear this again in the future with my Hikaru and Fuu!
Let me just say Umi's outfit was finished so much earlier than the rest of ours, and it looked SO good! The armor worked out perfectly when she heated it over the stove, that was fun to watch! and she spent meticulous hours and hours painting each tiny detail and making sure everything was PERFECT. Not even Halo could keep her away from her sword! That's my favorite part of the outfit, too. The dragon looks awesome! If anyone saw how much effort she put into the fabulour outfit, they would give her an award. It all paid off, and she looked so great! just like Umi! The walking around part was hard, since boots are super annoying to keep up, and Umi had to lift hers up more than once. But that's okay, since all the pictures turned out great!
Poor Umi's shoulder must have been dead by the end of the day! I know she and Hikaru were so glad to be out of the armor on Sunday. Everything looked fabulous though, even with the last minute repairs. And the sword...the wings looked so great. It was utter awesomeness.
Fuu:
Here's some pictures taken by others at the con:
Crazy Fuu. I love the outfit, though the scratch marks from the armor are still visible... It was fun carrying around my big flag pole...I mean sword. I love the skirt and the flowy white fabric - it's so comfortable. However, the top posed some...problems...and had to be adjusted often. Over all, I had tons of fun with this outfit, and will hopefully be able to repair it and wear it again!
Yay Fuu! Even though she hated every part of making her outfit, it turned out really good! The sword came out good for people a flag pole haha! She was the picture taker for saturday that's for sure, since me and Hikaru couldn't walk around!
She looked great! The armor came out nice, even if it had to be adjusted every once in a while, and the sword was huge! Trying to find a place for it in the car was crazy, and it eventually ended up sticking up between the front seats! Then we lost the ball on the top of it...but we found it! And her hair was blonde, even if she alomost died from inhaling the fumes! I really liked the whole outfit, and the sword looked so cool since it was so big. And, of course, the part that took the most wear and tear was her boot, which totally ripped clean through the last day! But not to worry, I'm sure we'll be wearing these outfits again!

Lina Inverse:

Here's some pictures taken by others at the con (Eurobeat King's are first)

I LOVE THIS OUTFIT SO MUCH!!!!! Yeah...It was incredibly comfortable considering the armor and all the belts. Had a little trouble breathing in it though. Sword kept breaking, but it was all good. I blame the rain for the blue paint getting all over and for my mad frizzy hair. And my roommate is amazing, because even though she doesn't like anime, she helped me hand sew the costume. Yes, 95% of the sewing on this costume was done by hand. Because there is no sewing machine in my dorm. I think we at least kept the hair dye under more controll than last time though. Shiris did a good job with that, and we didn't turn the walls blue (maybe a little pink, but not blue).
Here's Lina! haha Pink... Diaper... anyway, She looked great, and she was the 1 of 2 Lina's which was awesome. Found lotsa people from Slayers to take pictures with her as well. It's a shame her belt was bleeding all over her from that damn blue paint haha! but everything looked great! I must give a hell yeah to Mayumi's friend who sewed the pants and jacket! Great job! (Even though you look a little creepy in the pictures above Mayumi haha)
I liked the whole "jumper" suit thing going on, lol! but really, she looked awesome, and the armor part, though it may look easy to get on, was one whole piece and was a heck of a lot harder to get into! Fun fact - the two circles on either side of her armor are actually mirrors that she painted over! And yes, props to her roommate for making the outfit! it was too bad that the paint started to run, but you couldn't really see it. The belt looked really cool. She had a lot of fun with this outfit!

Rosette Christopher:

Here's some pictures taken by some others at the con (Eurobeat King's are first):

Rosette! I loved this costume! It was very comfortable to wear! Made everything on my body except for my boots which I bought. The blue skirt thing came out good even though I sewed it a bit wrong by the sleeves. My waist thing with my pockets was great! That came out just the way I wanted it! The only problem was it fell down alot, (you can tell in just about all of the pictures) Gloves were fun to sew! I had a blast with those! My clock thing worried me the most, because close up, it looks kinda weird looking, but it looks fine in pictures! yay! Wig from Ebay! hell yeah ebay! I'm a blond! I even had a guy come up to me and say I was the prettiest girl he'd ever seen! I thought that was so cute! The gun was the best part... it's a water gun I painted ha! I thought that was clever, it looks like a real gun! All in all, this outfit was so much fun! yay Chrno Crusade!
Dude, all i have to say is SHE'S A BLONDE!!! that was so cool! She looked really good as a blonde, too, and with bangs nonethless! (and i'm not the only one who thought she looked good!) This outfit was perfect, down to the last detail on the clock. I still don't know how she made the nun hat thing, but it looked great. My favorite part was the middle thing, it looked so cool with the rest of the outfit. Her whole costume looked real, like she could wear it to the mall. it was funny when tiny flecks of paint started coming off her gun and you could see the craxy bright color underneath! Tons of people took pictures of her, this outfit was a total success!
Nun. Well, I must say, as much as she protested, Julie makes a good blonde. And she worked so hard on those gloves! Even though she was worried about the costume, it turned out great! Yay for powerful female anime characters!

Leila Ashley:

Here's pictures taken by others at the con:

I loved this costume because it was simple, comfortable, and i never had to smile! I could save all my mouth energy for Hikaru the next day! My favorite part was the arm and leg cover thingies, they looked really cool made out of the shiny material. Even though the one arm that's slightly shorter is so because I made it was too damn tight and I couldn't pull it up another inch. I couldn't feel my arm about half-way through the day! I made that top three times too, by the way. hand sewn all three times. That pissed me off, but it turned out fine. And even though absolutley NO ONE knew who i was, I still liked being Leila! She's a great character, everyone should go watch Avenger!
Her costume looked so comfortable! And she really played the part well! And, for once, she got to be camera girl (thanks to the fact that Julie and I were wearing gloves). Even though no one knew who she was, people still liked her outfit, which is awesome. Yay for brooding silent people dressed in green!
Yay for the Avenger cosplayer that no one knews who she was! haha, but no Shiris did a great job with her outfit! I would wear that outfit out on the town! haha! I loved the leggings and the arm things, and the shiny material they are made out of! The green shirt and skirt part is so awesome! And look at that serious face! Perfect! Once again she did a great job and it's awesome to do a cosplay that one on else has done!

Chibi Kurenai:

Yay Chibis! I made this outfit for the crack crew Naruto chibis thursday dinner at Hard Rock Cafe! I had fun making this outfit because I could do whatever I wanted! and I felt so cute! because Chibis are cute! ^_^ But it was so much fun to be with the Crack Crew at Otakon because they are just such an awesome group to be with!
I loved this outfit, it was so adorable! The pigtails were an awesome touch, and i really liked the arm band. I still can't believe she made it in one day, just picked up some extra fabric and there it was! Her Crack Crew loved it too, and dinner was a ton of fun!
She was so cute in all her chibi glory! And walking around Barnes&Noble, we got the strangest looks! It was so much fun hanging out with her Crack Crew friends. Such nice people! And to think she made that outfit so quickly!
Inner Sakura:

Inner Sakura again, i love this outfit simply because it's so damn comfortable. The fabric is this really thin, soft material that feels really cool. and the shoes were comfortable too, even though they kept sliding up. But, of course, my favorite part is my forehead - thanks Julie!
Ninja! Inner Sakura! Whee! She looked so fiercely adorable, and everyone who saw her loved her. She was one of a kind (that I saw, at least)!
Yay Inner Sakura! Everyone loves Inner Sakura! and Inner Sakura rocks! I helped with the writing on the forehead (again) ^_^ She did such a great job for her costume! and yay for Naruto!

Haruko:

Absolute last minute costume. As in it was made in about two days right before the con. So comfortable, most comfortable costume I've ever had (even though I had to wear shoes). The gloves turned my hands yellow. I had a major dilema about whether or not to cut my hair right before the con, and as I decided not to, the hair had to be altered. If anyone knows where I can find some cheap vespa goggles, let me know, as my short search for them proved fruitless. Yay insane aliens!!!!! And yes, I did knit the scarf.
FLCL rocks! Here's the summer version on Haruko, since it was really hot in line! Even though her hair wasn't like haruko's (it being in pigtails) she still looked great!
This was my favorite of Mayumi's outfits (beside MKR, of course), because she looked so cool and the boots were awesome! I really liked the gloves as well, and the pink hair was insane. The bodice part looked great, especially when she wore it to the rave! But i think the pink hair was my favorite, since it was SO pink and again she almost died from the fumes! And she made the scarf all by herself, which is amazing!
Here's some pictures taken 2 at a time!

Here are some pictures that other people from the con have taken: (Eurobeat King took the first 6, who we hail to because he took many pictures of us throughout the con!):
