Polearms

The Dark Nobel- A MeRC Illusions: The Dark Nobel is a polearm, with a pole made from a strong ashen stave. This weapon and it's sister, the Verdant Vengence, share the shape of axe head, hook and spikes.... The orb atop the Dark Nobel is sterling silver, as is the base cap. The blades and such are of steel, sharpened to a deadly point. This weapon is ideal for lighter weight people who are not as strong as people capable of handling a two handed axe or war hammers. The strength of this weapon lies in the momentum of movement at the time. The etchings on the blade are a style of hooks, filled with black paint for accent. This weapon was created for a friend of mine, as if you look at it, you can tell she is aggressive. This type of polearm is called a halibard.

The Vercant Vengence- A MeRC Illusions: This weapon is the sister to the Dark Nobel and far more detailed. The blades are the same, but instead of both spikes and hook, there is a downward hook. The stave of cherry wood for decoration. The orb atop this weapon is a piece of blown glass, as you can see in the details written out. The etching on this polearm is a design of vines and flowers. This weapon was also created for a friend of mine, though a far more peaceful one. This type of polearm is called a halibard.

The Felunas Pike- A MeRC Illusion: As the name implies, this type of polearm is a pike. Like a spear, this is a weapon upon a stave with a top of metal. Where a spear has a simpler, angular head for jabbing, a pike has a bit more ornimental head, or one that is not a traditional shape, or none at all. This is not like a javelin, for those are light and short for throwing. Pikes can be used for thrusting, jabbing, and in some cases, slashing. The Felunas Pike, of the Felunas Weapon series is topped with a flame inspired piece, made of a steel-bronze alloy to give it a fiery look. The tips are thin and sharp for slashing, the base of the metal thicker for support and strength. There are gems at the merging points of different hooks. These are pearls, and the gem in the center is a diamond-cut ruby. The point where the top joins the wood is held there by two metal bolts, the rest being pieces of metal that are ornimental. The staff is oak, fire hardened and stained blood red or black. Standing, this pike if 6 feet tall. at the widest point it is one foot.
