MORROWIND STATS AND SKILLS CAP REMOVER v.1.2 Alpha
TRIBUNAL OR BLOODMOON REQUIRED
By Mephisto
“There comes a time when you realize that limits exist only in your mind”
Ever wondered why you could never match your skills with the heroes of myth
and legend? Were you ever forced to hit the books just so you could advance
in your trade when all you wanted was to crush legions of enemies with your
mighty cudgel of war? Or perhaps you have had to enroll in the local
fighters’ guild to study the fine art of hacking people to pieces only
because your magick skills had reached their supposed limit?
Well, no more.
One quiet night, a Stilt Strider brought two strange Dunmeri to the city of
Balmora. The two went only by their first names, which sounded untypical for
the Dark Elves – Mephisto and Damar. They claimed to have the knowledge of
the ancient art of mental discipline that allowed its students to surpass
the regular limits and strive for infinite mastery of their skills and
abilities. The two Dunmeri ask for neither payment nor services in exchange
for their tutelage. Their motives are unknown to you, as are their
backgrounds, but they will help you to become the legendary hero, the
godlike wizard or the master of stealth that you’ve always dreamed about
becoming…
MOD INSTALLATION
Simply copy the 'CapRemover 1.2 Alpha.esp' into your Data Files folder.
Then use Morrowind launcher to enable the mod.
CONSIDERATIONS
1. ALWAYS make a backup of your save game before using this, or any other mod.
2. If you do not like the mod and want to go back to the original game mode,
PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS UNDER “RESTORING YOUR CHARACTER” before
disabling the mod.
PLAYING THE MOD
Launch Morrowind and travel to Balmora. At the Stilt Strider port, you will
find two new NPCs – Mephisto and Damar. Mephisto will be your guide to
infinite mastery; Damar will help you if you want to see the debug messages
the mod generates, or if something bad happens to your character and you
want to restore him to his original state and disable the mod’s scripts.
Speak to Mephisto and be sure to follow his instructions and answer all his
questions correctly. Because meditating on your skills takes supreme
concentration and does not tolerate any magickal interference, your
character will strip off all equipment and clothes until the process is
completed. After Mephisto is finished, you can put your equipment back on.
Next, speak to Damar. Unless you are a modder, you probably don’t want to
turn on the debug messages. Ask him to make a backup of your character
every few levels, just to be safe. Should something terrible happen to your
character, or should you want to revert to your original state, he will help
you. A backup is automatically made when you have spoken with Mephisto.
Additional backups can, and should, be made when you have gained a few levels.
YOU'RE DONE! Now you can play the game as usual. When you gain a level, your
character will need to meditate again. He or she will be stripped of all
equipment once more; on the level-up screen, you will see all your stats
reduced to 0. Do not be alarmed;distribute your level-up points as you
normally would, and once your character wakes up, your stats will receive
the appropriate bonuses. This allows you to push your stats above 100.
RESTORING YOUR CHARACTER
If for some reason you need to turn off the mod, or revert your character to
his/her previous state, speak with Damar. Ask him to restore the backup of
your character.
• Your skills and stats (but NOT your level!) will be immediately restored
to the values they were at during the last backup.
• All scripts related to this mod will be stopped.
• If you wish to disable the mod at this time, save, exit Morrowind and
disable BOTH 'CapRemover 1.1c BETA1.esp' and the balance.esp you chose.
• Then launch Morrowind again, and load from your latest save game. You will
no longer be able to raise your skills or stats past the maximum of 100. if
a skill has already increased past 100, its current value will be its maximum.
• If you wish to enable the mod once more, you will have to speak to
Mephisto and go through the question and answer session again.
UPGRADING FROM THE PREVIOUS VERSION
If you have a previous version of this mod installed, you will need to
perform the following steps to upgrade:
1. Turn off the old version by unchecking the corresponding files in
Morrowind launcher.
2. Enable the new version of the mod.
3. Load the save game. Travel to Balmora.
4. Speak to Damar and ask him to make a backup of your character.
5. Immediately ask Damar to restore the backup of your character.
6. Now speak to Mephisto and go through the question and answer session
again.
7. Re-equip your gear - you are ready to go!
LIMITATIONS
1. You cannot raise your Acrobatics skill or Athletics
skill above 100. This is due to the fact that excessive movement speed can
crash the game or cause unpredictable effects (like falling through the
floor). Mercantile is also still capped at 100, since increasing that skill
past 100 doesnt have an effect on gameplay.
2. There is no upper limit on any other skill. A “purist” version where
limits will be set will be released later.
3. “Drain Skill” and “Damage Skill” spell effects will affect the
player. The player can, however, CANNOT normally restore them. To remove
Skill drains you must either gain a level or visit a shrine. Stats can be
restored to their original values normally – by using Dunmeri or Imperial
shrines, or by casting an appropriate restorative spell of your own.
4. If you haven't previously asked Damar to make a backup of your character,
DO NOT ask him to restore your character. If you do, all your skills will
drop to 0. A backup will automatically be made after you've spoken with
Mephisto.

Readme.txt written by Damar Stiehl.
*Even though he doesnt mention it, Damar has been a great help from the very start.
He has found more bugs then this readme contains words, and this mod wouldnt have be
as stable and, hopefully, bugfree as it is now. This guy was, and is, invaluable. -Mephisto*
