A kids video would be lively, a wedding video would be more serious, but could also include moments of hilarity, such as the cake eating ceremony or flubbed wedding vows. Biographical/Genealogical videos can also contain images of happiness, sadness or laughter.
A word on memorials...I’ve made three, including my dad’s. Several of the best moments, were light hearted-which broke the tension of the service and which received a lot of positive comments. The other two were given to family & shared with friends, after a memorial service. Take into account what type of images you wish to display and the corresponding background music you wish to convey. (A rendition of Amazing Grace by Elvis was my choice, but mom chose one by a Country singer). Memorial videos should range from 10-15 minutes in length.
The average video lasts approx. 10-20 minutes. Images display on the average anywhere from 5-7 seconds + or -, depending on the mood, music and type of video. We have had good luck with audiences in the 15 minute range; otherwise add an intermission to break up a lengthy production. (*Music: Generally, you will require 1 track of music per 25-30 images).
