Political Posters

It turns out I have certain friends that bring out the criminal side of my personality. And it also appears that she is the person I am having the most fun with at the moment

I think it started when we journeyed into the sleazy end of Perth to go to the gay Mardi Gras, where we adventurously almost got run over by about four separate cars, stole napkins and marshmallows from a cafe, and other numerous small crimes. We then went to our local member of federal parliament's campaign office, and stole a poster each of our beloved John Howard. We both now have posters of him on our walls, where his head is about the size of our upper body. And the wonderful Don Randall and most of his staff now know us as thieves.

The next day on our way home, we decided to visit our nearest snobby all boys school. As it was a Sunday, and there was therefore no one there, I came up with the brilliant idea of stealing a flower. Why should they have pretty flowers than Our school, especially when we have girls? So one of our friends jumped out the car, and pulled with all her might a flower from the ground, which spanned the width of my car. We then travelled all the way home with the largest flower ever blocking my access to the gear stick. The next day, and today, we went up to Araluen a lovely country club, and had very tasty but cheap coffee. All the while plotting how to steal a golf buggy. So it seems, we are now the master criminals.

You may say that these things are not a big deal. But for the future dux of our high school, and her friend who has possibly never done anything quite as dangerous, it is. So big, I thought I should tell you all. And as it turns out, crime is a good distraction, and a very good way to make someone forget their problems.

Insecurities

My exams are finally over, and I finally feel as though I am myself once again.

After going through the hell that is the TEE ( the silly little name given to possibly the biggest exams of our lives), I seem to have finally cracked.

No, I haven't gone crazy, that happened a little while ago. Instead all the tears I have been holding in seemed to have spiled over into a conversation I was having with a friend.

On the great piece of technology that is MSN, we were having our normal light conversation that we have late at night, when I felt a sudden bout of insecurities slipping again into my mind, like tired feet into a nice pair of slippers. And- I cried.

And even though this is not unheard of from me, it wasn't my normal cry. It was a cry of a person who had come to realise that all of her previous existence, no longer lives here. I don't have to get up early to go to school, nor wear that horrible uniform. Yet I wished for another exam, to spend more hours studying, and then I thought What the hell am I thinking!!!!!?????. I have wished for this, I should be happy. And then I realised it was because now people didn't actually have to talk to me, and that I could go days without needing to leave the house! What a weird thing that shall be.

But now I have my sights on the greater world, Europe, and the travel I plan to undertake, but not just that, the ball and a lovely trip to see the grandparents. Hopefully, some time soon, my feet will no longer need the comfort of the slippers that are getting so old, that I can hardly recognise them.
