WITCHY WAYS

Supplies Needed:

PSP (tutorial written in version 8)

Tube of Choice
I’m using the amazing work of Popeye Wong.
You can get more of his tubes here.

Scrap Elements of Choice
I’m using scrap ribbons and a journal block from Scrappy Expressions.
Melissa is so talented and I appreciate her permission to share these items.

Doodle of Choice
I do not know the creator of the doodle I’m using.
If it is yours, please let me know, so that I can give you proper credit.

MY SUPPLIES
Again, I was having troubles uploading my supplies, so this file is hosted at RapidShare.
Includes the tube an scrap items that I have used.
The background paper was created by me for this tag.
You my use another paper, if you’d like.

All settings given are those that I have used to create my tag.
Adjust accordingly to suit your taste and supplies.
Remember to SAVE OFTEN!

Open the files in the supply folder and minimize for now.

Open a new image, 500x500 and fill white.

Copy the MV~Witchy bkgd and paste as a new layer.
Resize by 75%. Make sure Resize all layers is NOT checked!
Rotate right by 45. Make sure All layers is NOT checked!
Apply a drop shadow, 0, 0, 100, 10, black.

Copy Doodle001 and paste as a new layer.
Recolor so that it’s black.
Adjust>Hue & Saturation>Colorize, H&S=0 (gray)
Adjust>Color Balance>Manual Color Correction
Source=#C0C0C0, Target=#000000

Resize 65%. Rotate right 45

Move to the right of the tag, with the left curl overlapping the edge (see mine).
Duplicate and mirror. Merge the two doodles into one layer. (Layers>Merge>Merge down)
Duplicate and move to the bottom of the paper. Merge the doodles.

Click on your eraser tool.
Shape: Round, Size: 50, Hardness:100, Step: 25, Density: 100, Rotation: 0 Opacity: 100
Erase the doodle from the middle of the paper, but leave the curls so that they overlap.
Since the edge of the paper is black, you don’t have to be exact here.

On the bottom doodles, leave the stray swirls that are above the curl on the paper, too.
If you want, leave the smaller curls, too. You may have to use a smaller eraser for them.
This is what you should have.

Copy the witch tube and paste as a new layer.
Resize as desired, depending on the tube you use.
I did not resize. But I did modify the tube.
Using the Freehand Selection tool, set on Freehand, with a Feather of 15,
draw around the bottom of the witch, below the knees, at an angle.
Hit delete. See my tag for reference.

Add a drop shadow  -1, -2, 50, 5, black

Copy whichever journal tag you want to use and paste as a new layer.

I didn’t want the invitation tiles on my tag, so here is how I fixed that.

Click on the selection tool, set to rectangle, no feather.
Draw out a square over the blank lines and promote the selection to a layer.
Move this layer over to the right, so that it covers the words and is aligned
with the lines correctly. Deselect .

Now, click on the Lighten/Darken brush, with the following settings:

Click a few times around the edges of the selection you just moved
so that it blends well with the creases in the paper.
Right click to darken some spots; left click to lighten some.

 Merge down. Resize by 50%.
Select on your text tool and choose your font.
I used Bearpaw (included in the zip), size set to 30, color black.
Type out Happy Halloween (or whatever you want) and apply.
Place it where you want. Convert to raster layer and merge down.

Rotate to the left by 15.

Move this layer below your tube and the doodles in your layer palette.

Open the ribbons and copy the folded ribbon. Paste as a new layer.

Resize by 40%. Rotate left by 35. Sharpen.
Move it so that it is sitting on the hole in the journal tag.
Make sure the ribbon layer is just above the tag layer and merge down.
Apply the same drop shadow you did on your tube.

br> Back on the ribbons, copy the longest ribbon. Paste as a new layer.
Resize by 45%. Rotate left by 10. Sharpen. Add same drop shadow.
Move to the top corner and drop the layer below your tube layer.

Duplicate this layer and flip then mirror. Move it to the bottom corner.
Bring this layer above your tube layer.

Now to add your name. Choose your font. I’m using Sandals (supplied in zip)
Set your size to 48, stroke at 2. Set both your foreground and background to #EC800E
Type out your name apply and convert to raster layer. Duplicate this layer.
On your original layer, Select all and Float. Expand by 2.
Flood fill the selection with black. Deselect.

Merge these two layers together and apply an inner bevel with the following settings:

Rotate left by 15. Apply same drop shadow as before.

Add your copyright info and tagger credit.
Save as a jpg & you’re done!
