Poems to Read

Family Photos

This is my eldest brother--Robert R. Bacon, Jr.--in perhaps the
only surviving photo of him ( we resembled one another and my
elderly parents find it difficult to distinguish between us . . . their
memories having lapsed over the years . . . unless the telltale
birthmark on my right knee was visible).  He was 18 months older.

Melie Bacon

This was taken just before I graduated from Basic Training in
1972 (I was 17 years old), three years before I began writing
poetry.

Henry "Butch" Bacon

This is Henry "Butch" Bacon, my youngest brother.  Like our
father and I, he joined the Army (he volunteered to go to Iraq).
He was three years younger.

My Father, Robert R. Bacon, Sr.

My mother, Earline Bacon (I nicknamed her "Queen Earline").

Betty:  My eldest sister (different father), the looker.

Delia:  My youngest sister, I wrote the poem Delia Claire for her.
